How many lost 7 consecutive and keep their jobs?

You tell me. I'd assume it would be a function of circumstances. Marty Schottenheimer was fired after a 14-2 season. There are lots of things that can go wrong (or right) in an NFL season, like I said.

Do you think this is what happened w/ Wade? Or was he just not a a good head coach? Why'd he fail? Honestly, isn't five years w/ a franchise qb enough time to win? Not win it all necessarily but put 2 or 3 winning season's together? Is that too much to ask?

I think Wade failed primarily because he didn't have a direction for drafting and developing players. He used to always say it was up to the scouts to draft and he'd coach the players they brought in. But you need guys who fit what you want to do. Things definitely snowballed on him his last season, he wasn't a bad coach, per sec. But he wasn't a strong leader. Heck of a DC, though.

Are you seriously trying to count the 5-3 interim record as a 'winning" season for your boy Garrett now? That is how bad its gotten.................WOW

When a head coach's interim season is considered one of their best seasons, its time to find a new coach.

Of course his 5-3 record in 2010 counts as a winning season. Are you seriously trying to discount it? Why not just judge the guy fairly on his actual record?

Did they win or not? And for how much they "suck", and you're correct on that, they've still won more games they have and won more with a backup RB, QB, and WR. So your argument is completely invalid.

My argument is invalid? My argument was that I don't recall teams having success with their quarterback and receiver being out. I'm confused to what your argument is. You agree that the 49ers suck. So what is being argued here? That they suck less then us?

I'm simply stating that other teams find a way to at least win a game with their QB and WR being out. But yet we go 0-7. Simple as that.

i was just reading John Garrett was OC for Oregon State last year. He's no longer OC and is a Quality Control Specialist on Offense at Florida.

First of all, how does the Garrett clan keep finding jobs? It's obvious they aren't successful wherever they go.

Second, this was the guy that got promoted from TE coach to Passing Game Coordinator under His brother over here. Nepotism at its finest...

The fact that guys like Calvin Watkins was saying Jerry forcing Jason to fire his brother was a sign of anything but good, is comical...

Rumor was years ago that John left Dallas to seek a College Head Coaching job. His career seems to be tanking now that he is a QC specialist. Jerry was able to fire John but he just cannot pull the trigger on Jason.

Jason Garrett is the absolute worst decision Jerry has ever made in my opinion, as far as the Cowboys go. It's right there next to Switzer. At least Jerry had the excuse of free agency coming along at that time to destroy the team back then...

Jerry and Stephen were/are the problem, not Jason Garrett. He was establishing the culture that he wanted and BOOM, Greg Hardy is forced upon him.

Any talk of him being fired is stupid. He's in the first year o a 4 year deal. Too much money left.

Garrett definitely is part of the problem but the Greg Hardy move reeks of Jerry BS.

The main issue will be if Jerry & Stephen will finally make the correct move and fire JG. They may have to eat the 4 years and $24 million remaining on the contract. It is a big pill to swallow but this will show the fans if Jerry is really serious about winning another Super Bowl or that he only cares amount his money. Furthermore, I hope Jerry learned never to hire another "Head Coach in Training".

Once again....its hard finding an example of a team who lost their #1 receiver and #1 quarterback and went on to have success. If you expected it then I don't know what to tell you. You thought more highly of this team then I did that's for sure.

I agree its inexcusable but its happened. I've watched every single one of these games. I've seen us lose because we can't muster up more than 6 points. I've seen us lose because our defense has been on the field for too long. I've seen us lose because we can't run a efficient 2 minute offense. Is this inexcusable? Yes it is. But its all clear to why its happening. Maybe if Cassel had a training camp things would've been going far better than what they are but he didn't and this team can't play without Romo. The coaches can't coach this talent to a win. They can't adapt or make in-game adjustments.

What plenty of teams have done it?

You see a deep team here?

Since when is winning one or games a 'success'? That's all we were asking for. Cut the straw-man argument...

Even Jacksonville has won more than is after Romo went down.
