The fact that they don’t think about every possibility yet insist on running the team is yet another slap in the face to fans.

There’s plenty of time for stayjum events and Netflix series, yet when it comes to who coaches the football team, “they hadn’t thought about it,” according to Stephen.

I believe him. They never thought anyone would leave them by choice.

Still don’t buy it. In every negotiation if Jerry really wants something he will cave to every demand and overpay. So all the sudden he gets firm with MM and lets him walk? No chance. JJ didn’t want Mike back he just wanted it to look that way to the players.

Someone tell Jerry, not everyone is desperate like Garrett was. Not everyone is going to get on their knees and beg and camp out in front of Jerry's office for a week before getting kicked out.
That's all Jerry likes. New HC's impatient to wait for a better opportunity, a retired former HC, or someone who has been fired and is desperate for another opportunity.

NEVER EVER try to use logic for Jerry Jones thinking.

No offense, but this is just a blatantly absurd comment to make... all of professional sports is overwhelmingly reactive. You can't make smart "proactive" decisions until it is mortally tangibly possible to know what the variables in-play are... who's injured or not... who's had recent success or failure... who's contractually available or not... which competitors have decided to be aggressive during free agency, and which have not... which competitors are looking for what positions in the draft...

And by the time you do know, it's not "proactive" any more. Naturally. So, it's not excuse making, it's logic. Cold hard logic.

Some plan better than others. Some are better able to statistically model their decision making. Of course there are variables out of someone’s control. Some variables are more predictable than others. This idea that everyone is on equal footing, and just waiting for the other shoe to drop so that they can react is absurd.

Some teams draft before the literal need arrives. Even a year or more before they expect it. Some businesses can more accurately predict outcomes and can better prepare accordingly. I would call that proactive planning. Not the oxymoron reactive planning. Every industry that I know of has legions of unknowable variables. Some businesses are more proactive and thus more prepared for more variables than the lesser competition.

I don't believe this. I believe Jerry wanted Mike gone, didn't want to fire him and look ugly, so he just gave Mike an offer they knew he would not take.
The way the season began was the end of the road for Mike.
Jerry's had his eye on Kellen Moore for a while now and I believe he will be your next head coach.

Go get him Jerry. He may be all you got.

Good ole Barry, LOL!!!

If anybody is wondering, yes, he is still kicking. He turned 87 this past October.

Say what you want about ole Switzer, but he was one hell of a college coach back in the day. 12 Big 8 Conference Championships, 3 National Championships, and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. (Also won SB XXX as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys).

That is one hell of a career.

If he wanted him gone he would have granted the Bears interview request. It is as plan and simple as that.

Only problem with this theory is that they denied the Bears request to interview MM.

If they wanted MM gone, what purpose did it serve to prevent MM from interviewing for another job?

They either wanted him back and he balked at their offer or they wanted to him gone and just denied the Bears request for the sole purpose of being a dick about it.

Either way, its a bad look for Jerry and his idiot boy.

80% of what goes on around here is all hyperbole rhetoric it's diatribes it's full of opinions it's full of nonsense and that's just what keeps us interested in coming back 'cause we like to have these flame wars that's what they used to call them Yep I'm that old these debates are nothing factual these are opinions, you have 0 proof on your statement we need one party to say what the truth is and the other one to verify it's correct if not it's just same old Internet...
No argument from me.

1 - But for the last 24 years, the cowboys have made the playoffs 10 times and have only made it past the first round 4 times only to be eliminated the next game.

2 - Out of all the NFL teams, there is only one owner/GM, and that is Jerry Jones.

3 - Jerry Jones BEST decision he ever made was hiring Jimmy Johnson, and his WORST decision was letting Jimmy Johnson go.

Out of those 3 statements, only #3 could be considered an opinion and not fact.

Out of curiosity, in your opinion would the statement "Jerry Jones has made a lot of boneheaded decisions the last 24 years as the GM" be a fact or opinion? I consider it a fact, and thus Jerry kind of lost the benefit of a doubt when it comes to head scratching decisions assuming he is really putting the work into being a GM.
