RG3 and Dak have very similar first year numbers, especially extrapolating an extra game for RG3
RG3, and Kap for that matter, benefited from a one-off gimmicky offense.
Coordinators almost always catch up to that in year two.

Except for a few twists, Dak mostly ran the Lineman offense last year.
So, odds are in his favor to continue his development and success.
Not guaranteed, but nothing ever is.

Yes, of course. Bryant is still a huge asset and will and should be utilised. It is a bonus if the QB doesn't have to depend on one player or two to make his attack work. A truly elite QB finds a way to win with all his assets. I have a good feeling about the Cowboy offense with Prescott running it.

I'm with ya. I knew this is what you were saying. There will be moments when we just gotta have it, though.
I have confidence that young Dak will know what to do in those moments. Good talk, Haley.

That's the thing. It wasn't RG3 that made that a successful year... it was Shanahan and his gimmick offense that defenses didn't know what to do with.

Griffin was throwing to his first read or taking off with the ball. They usually cut the field in half for him and he only had to read one side. With the read option, the DE's (OLB's) didn't know what to do and left big gaps for either Morris or Griffin.

RG3's actual QB skills were never there.

Dak did it the way all QB's have to do it. Decision making, reading the defense, etc.

Vegas knows best baby!

Sure, Herd is not out of line with many of the writers out there. The norm seems to be in the 9-7 to 10-6 range given the schedule.

But at least at this stage, the pros think these Cowboys will do better, and maybe way better.

With playing a lot of good defenses this season and a rookie secondary it's not out of the question.

I still think they win at least 9 games. They play a lot of teams with weak offenses.

I'm trying to remember the last time Cowherd had something realistically positive to say about our Cowboys and I'm having trouble coming up with anything.
Lol what? Cowherd was always supporting Romo even before it became popular in 2014.

Did dak all of the sudden lost Elliot his Ol te and wrs? What's with all this if stuff?

Step up opposite dez? Did witten or Beasley go somewhere? There's only so many targets to go around because they do this thing called run the ball. And do it the best in the league.

Listen I love Dak as much as the next guy.

Let's not be naive and biased just because he's a cowboy. Stop it. Had it been the skins or eagles that got him, and he performed the way he has, we would be calling it a fluke, and "oh now everyone has tape on him"

Stop the one sided arguments.

We still need a WR opposite Dez. Period

Cowherd was actually very reasonable in the full discussion and on top of it said Dak is a 10 year starter/will improve this year. He argued our schedule is just tougher and teams won't overlook us like they may have with a rookie 4th rounder starting early in the season. I haven't liked him since he left ESPN and I know many of you didn't like him at all then but he wasn't being a blowhard Steven A or Skip.

Well it is the year after a great year so who knows. I'm waiting for 2 back to back great years. But Colin doesn't know anything. It took him half the season before he started praising Dak. These idiots just like to trash the Cowboys because they know it will cause controversy and make people talk about them. All a bunch of hot air.

Everything I've seen from him has been less than enthusiastic (about the Dallas Cowboys). But I don't follow him closely. I just see the blurbs that hit the national news & they are rarely complimentary.

So you could be right or you could be partially right. Either way, my optics are different than yours.

Thank you........

But I hope RoH enjoys beating his drum. I'm not blind.

He always liked Romo. Not really the Cowboys as a team though.

Really doesn't matter what anyone thinks in May, this time last year we were destined for a top 5 draft pick again.

Our offense should be just as good if not better than last year. On D we lost Church and a bunch of average players, last years D set the bar pretty low so I feel pretty confident that this D can at least match that

I used to listen to his show everyday before 105.3 came here. He was at very minimum fair towards them and always a huge Romo fan. Maybe it is just an exposure thing.

The Giants offense is stacked at the skill positions much like us. OBJ, Sheppard, and Marshall is a nice trio even if I think Marshall is basically done. He gives them some size, something they lacked, and can be a red zone target. They got a glorified WR in Engram as a TE. He should pose matchup problems. It will come down to whether or not they can get improved OL play and some semblance of a running game. If they can, they will be able to put up points in bunches. They also have the best defense in the division.

Washington has some moving parts at WR. We'll see how quickly Cousins can adapt to his new receiving core. But they just had an excellent draft.

Philly; it will depend on Wentz development (or Lord Carsus for Risen Star). Added some much needed weapons on the outside for him in Smith and Jeffrey.

We had an excellent draft as well. Its going to be a dogfight for the division this year. Honestly, I have no idea what to predict. I can see us missing the playoffs or winning the division as well... don't really have a feel this early. Hopefully Jaylon Smith can be an impact player this year, Tapper and Charlton show something, and the rookie DBs are ready to go....
