I know it is preseason but he convinced me tonight. The kid was amazing. He had poise, accuracy, he stepped up in the pocket,.... He showed EVERYTHING you would want in a QB. The one thing he did not show was his running ability which shows even more poise because you expect a young QB to run. We all know he has the ability to run the ball but only did it one time tonight when a play broke down. I am not sure how this translates to the regular season but I am excited.

This is all he did at MS State. Dude won games that State had no business even being competitive in. I've been saying it till I'm blue in the face... Dak is a gamer and he lifts the entire team around him.

I love QB's that raise the level of their whole team in college. Favre did it at Southern Miss. Manning did it at Tenn. and Dak did it at State. I'm not saying he's a Hall of Fame QB... but he has something special.

He also seems to have that thing Romo has of playing a lot better in games than in practice. Its just one game, too early to say, yatta yatta, but he definitely seemed to play a lot better under the bright lights. The same is true for Romo, who no one expected to be as good as he is.

Great post BTW... And the answer is YES. Prescott has that special IT factor, he took a sorry *** Mississippi State team and turned it completely around with his on the field play and leadership.

He was a good college QB but will not do much in the NFL. He's raw and one has to hope the current staff can develop him. Not expecting that to happen...,

Why? Behind our OL and the weapons we have, not like he won't have things to help him out.

His game just doesn't translate well here, imo. He's not a QB that can pick you apart. If he's got all day then he might have a snowballs chance, but any QB can at that point. You also need this staff to develop the guy, not expecting that either. Showers is the better passer at this point.

I'm a big college football fan and dedicate way more time to that than the NFL (I know that doesn't mean diddley squat). I love Dak's game at the college level, just not the NFL.

Didn't see Showers as being the better passer last nite. And Dak has been better in camp, thus being #2 in depth chart. Dak will get time to sit and learn behind Romo. Gruden is high on his ability (as he said during game), the CBoy's think well of him, so there are some people who think he can translate to the NFL.

I can't say one way or the other yet.

We've seen one preseason game.

Yes he looked damned good in it. That was very encouraging to see.

But I'm not ready to anoint him the be all end all and the future of the franchise.

LOL

Seriously, I don't even know how some of you come to your conclusions at times. "Dak's game" is very similar to a QB that has been to the playoffs the past 5 years, Super Bowl twice, winning one. It translates and it was on show yesterday.

He's in a great situation on team with a loaded offense, a franchise QB eager to take him under his wing, and a year or two to develop barring major injuries.

It could happen

Let's change the poll to "How long until the same vultures who said Prescott isn't pro ready will now start a 'QB controversy' with Romo?"
