I think most of us have given up about things ever changing in the front office. We chose cognitive dissonance so we can at least have something else to argue about.
That's not the quote."Culture eats process for breakfast." -- Peter Drucker
Meh. They're game script dependent as much as any other team.
Stop going to games. Dump the season tickets.
The only possible way Jerry changes is if/when the valuation of the team starts declining. Or when he dies. In which case, our best hope is that the Jones kids decide they'd rather split 8 billion than keep running the team.
It really is insanity to think anything will change. I know football is just a game. And the Dallas Cowboys are just a team. But we fans have a connection to it. We vicariously compete through them. Jerry has made us all losers the last 28 years. That's what stings. And we have no recourse to change anything, except to kick our favorite team to the curb. And that hurts more than even the losing.
Thanks Jerry.
Having "fans," as you're referring to, doesn't mean anything to any owner in the NFL. You don't have to be a fan to watch on TV, and that's all that matters to owners.I will say this one other thing. Just because I'm not going anywhere as a Cowboys fan doesn't mean that Jerry shouldn't be concerned. I know Jerry doesn't read these posts, but, if he did, he should heed what I'm about to say. I sincerely think that I'm of the last generation of Cowboys fans. There might be a few who stay with them in Dallas. However, with how we are treated and with how the Cowboys are what they are now, Jerry and his children will find that this once bastion of gold is going to run out before long. That stadium they built might be the last one they get if the Cowboys stay as they are and this culture stays as it is. So, just because I'm not going anywhere doesn't mean other fans will.
Business people paraphrase the quote to swap out "strategy" with "process" all the time. If you know enough to correct me, you should already know that too. Don't be that guy. You're not him. That's not the quote.
Either way, it doesn't apply to the NFL. Strategy develops culture in the NFL. There is no culture without talent, and there is no execution without a strategy that gets the most out of talent.
Culture gets you nowhere. We see it with the Patriots right now.
You're overstating them. Then why can't we get where they are? Why is it that they can literally become a juggernaut with a QB picked last in the draft? Why is it that their team looks absolutely unstoppable? Why is it that they look like they will pass us, and they might well be returning to their 80s form when they had their dynasty? It is horrendous as a young fan knowing that one of the few teams that we still have a true rivalry with owns us.
Lol, fair enough.People paraphrase the quote to swap out strategy with process all the time. If you know enough to correct me, you should already know that too. Don't be that guy. You're not him.

The biggest thing SF has going for them is that they have no injuries and the NFC as a whole is terrible.
The Cowboys are going to be sold to Saudis and be the biggest brand in sports (if not already) long before that happens. And that is why this culture will continue to rot. I have a gut feeling that the Cowboys might not have a franchise in 30 years.
All good, lol. We're all salty this morning.Lol, fair enough.
I guess my point was that the strategy is more relevant to the NFL than process, but it didn't really come off that wayAll good, lol. We're all salty this morning.

This is what the entire NFL wants. These aren't Cowboys-specific things.Perhaps, but even when that happens, I could see the Cowboys still being in this mess. My point is this, the Joneses are going to see the flame that still holds the Cowboys together die soon as far as fans. The only people who will view the games on TV and at the stadiums will be other teams fans. If that's what they want, then this franchise is dead.

It's every sport lol. And, tbf, Ive noticed this with other sports including European football too. If a squad manages to find their way to a title, brilliant! The fans will be happy, and they can sell that decades. Just as long as the teams are relevant, then that's all that matters to the likes of Chelsea, Barcelona, and AC Milan.
It's every sport lol.
Owners don't care about winning and losing. They don't buy teams to lose money.
