Cutting Dez is a Huge Mistake

I am not necessarily upset they dumped Dez. I think my ire is more directed at the fact that this thing snowballs into other issues that possibly could have been avoided............ I don't want any part of a WR at 19 but now, I suspect, WR is a real possibility at 19.

If he really wanted to be here he could have said he would play for less money. So it isn't all the Jones' choice that he is no longer here. Plus he had the choice to catch a bunch of balls that he dropped last year, has had the choice to work with a route guru before this off season, etc.

This is funny, they released him and now you're trying to make it like it was his decision.

We'll find out if this move was a mistake or not. But the FO had to try something. Dez became complacent.

You say he was a cancer, You assume he was a cancer, if you want to play that card. Then maybe they should’ve cut Zeke who was suspended 6 games( although it was bogus) but he did lay the tracks to get run over by Goodell. D Lawerence suspended, D Irving suspended. You want to talk cancers?

I’m talking about his sideline antics that took focus away from the game and screamed “me, me, me”.
There are times when that can be galvanizing, but those times are extremely few and far between.
More often than not, they are detrimental to what happens on the field.

The timing of this is dumb. Why now? Did we even attempt to trade even if unlikely? Atleast then we could get something in return but the "cap savings" is a non point unless they spend.

So our best receivers are a guy with a broken foot, an injury prone guy, and a slot guy on the last year of his contract. how exciting.

But that's not the point of my response. It was asked why someone would want to trade for his contract.

His contract would actually be enticing because there is no guaranteed money. So any team picking him up in a trade just gets a guy being paid $12MM this year and no downside of having to take a dead money hit to take him on. They can cut him if they want after one year with no penalty.
My guess is that he'll find out on the open market that his offers will be less than what the FO were wanting to reduce him to.......he'll be a rotational guy somewhere and definately not a #1.

You named three highly productive players.

Gtfoh, you don’t know what was said on the sidelines, as Romo said it wasn’t what it seemed. You’re making assumptions. Guys being suspended is way more detrimental to what happens on the field.

I was not a fan of cutting dez simpley because it creates a hole to fill when we have so many holes to fill
I have no problem moving on from dez, just thought it was smarter to wait a year, fix the defense this year and address WR next year
This draft has no super star WR prospects
But there are some good #2 types
Wonder if Ridley will get 88
Hurns would be first to get the offer of 88, personally we shouldn't give 88 until someone worthy gets drafted

Not at all. It was Dallas' decision to cut him. It was his decisions that helped them make their decision. You know, things like dropping passes, being a loud mouth on the sidelines, etc.

Guess what the 2018 season will tell us everything that we need to know about who's fault it was.
