This is a gigantic mistake...... should have learned from DWare....... could have saved almost as much with a simple restructure

He could have been traded at worst....he will sign elsewhere quickly and he will play for 5-6 more years like ABoldin

Three years of Elite Pay and Mediocre Play determined his future. He got paid and decided he didn't need to play. Bubye Dez.

My guess is that he'll find out on the open market that his offers will be less than what the FO were wanting to reduce him to.......he'll be a rotational guy somewhere and definately not a #1.

I think you'll be disappointed. I think you want to hope he can only sign for some low ball offer so you can tell yourself how you were right, but be prepared to see him make a pretty nice chunk of change.

I could see him possibly signing a rebound contract, something similar to what Jeffery signed last year with Philly. Like a one year deal for around $10-12MM as a prove it deal and then try to cash in one more big contract if he plays well.

And play for a contender.

The Cowboys have just successfully parted ways with their 2 best offensive players in the last 20 years. Showed Romo the door and now Dez.

They are really not very bright!!

Restructures don't "save", they restructure.

Now we'll find out what the rest of the league thinks of Dez. I predict less than 12.5mil.

Broken foot
Rookie QB
Star RB suspended

Jerry pays HIM for HIS production. Are you saying, he should not have paid Dez like an average WR? I mean, that is what you're saying. Dez's production in the past wasn't Dez. It was Tony Romo and therefore Dez should have never been paid like an Elite player because it was Romo and not Dez.

Look at the other WRs that played well here with Romo, but left and sucked out. Dez should have never gotten that big contract. Jerry is just getting out from under that albatross contract.

Jerrry did the right thing here. This was 100% a business decision. Not a personal one.

This is the way the NFL works. If big pay players don’t perform up to what you get paid, they usually get cut. Lots of good NFL teams do this all the time.

GB- Jordy Nelson cut
Oak- Michael Crabtree cut

And those guys have performed better than Dez lately.
I know there’s disappointment but this pretty much is standard NFL cap management these days.

I'm sure Romo leaving at the same time had nothing to do with it, lol.
See my next post. In other words. Dez is not elite. It was Romo that made Dez look good. So, instead of Romo having a $68M contract. He more than likely should have had a $110M contract with Dez having a $30M contract rather than what was it? $71M?

Dez was elite or all the other WR would have similar numbers.

If you can't read between the lines (injury, carousal of Qbs).

Denim. Open your mind to the full picture. It's like the bitcoin argument. If you only stare at a smaller portion of the details. You will never have the full story. I hope you are out of that travesty that is cryptocurrencies. You will just lose money like Jerry did on Dez.

Injuries be damned.

Gotta be out on the field.

And what about the "business decisions" he made last season like against the Raiders?

He was more trouble than he was worth.
