How about Romo and Bernie Kosar?
No, Bernie got to play in some big games. He was a play or two from like three super bowls.
Here are the real ball velocity ratings as tested at the combine ( arm strength)

Dak was tied for 12th ball velocity at the 2016 combine. In 2015, there were 7 qbs that tested for higher velocity. So it would be fair to say he had the 19th strongest arm out of the 2015&2016 combines

What was Tom Brady's pre draft ball velocity?

lol what makes wentz a franchise qb over dak when they're winning in the playoffs with Wentz on the sidelines?

You mean "barely winning" in the playoffs despite a great defense.

If Wentz had played, it wouldn't have been close..

You guys act as if the eagles scored 30 points..had the defense not played a great game, the eagles would be one and done.

What have Goff, Luck and Cousins done to be considered franchise qb's lol?

Well, they don't need an All Pro Offensive line, an All Pro Running back, and A Randy Moss clone (gets 10 yards of separation every play and can jump 10 feet in the air) to look like a competent QB for one...

Look at what they are working with and get back at me.

They make scrubs look serviceable.

A franchize QB DOESN'T NEED everything to be perfect for him to be able to pass for 200 yards in a game..

Simple as that.

Last year Dak reminded me of a young Kurt Warner. This year he reminded me of Redakins era McNabb

Honestly....if you gave Dak that supporting cast.....it would be a improvement lol. With speed and reliability with Garcon.

Hey Roy, since you are a Romo "hater", can you give Romo some props? I mean, Romo had a MVP type season playing with scrubs like Dez, Twill, and old man Witten...

Imagine what he would have done with Cousin's WRs.

Let me guess, when Romo was playing, our WR corps was good right?
They ALL forgot how to play this season right?

I think many Dallas fans give up on Dak way to easy . The kid shows he can play at a high level and do it on a regular basis. There were a few things that were done wrong going into this season and during it.

1. He should of worked with a specialist like Tom House or someone in offseason instead of doing commercials .
2. The FO / Staff should of encouraged him getting help and try to make sure early success did not go to his head. I think after so long with Romo the coaches failed him this year more then anything .
3. Again its on coaching to use him and players around him better to their strengths . Dez was miss used all year , he might not be as great as he once was ... but come on .
4. Its his 2nd year ... there will be ups and downs . You need 3-4 years to see what you really have . As a guy outside looking in , I think he will be a good QB maybe not Elite but above average.

Some common sense and perspective from a non cowboys fan. Definitely welcomed here.
Meanwhile our fans spend hours gushing over Wentz like they are his groupies. No offense to Wentz. He's awesome. But our guy is pretty good too. Maybe more Alex Smith than Tom Brady but good QBs don't grow on trees. When u have one u keep him.

I wanted Garappolo, long before he got traded... Jerry didn't make it happen... what else is new.

Was Romo a franchise qb?

Goff doesn't have a stacked team around him? Brady or Big Ben don't have stacked squads?

LOL so since the Cowboys MB shutdown you gonna be a hater here too ? Dak is a very good young QB . Staff/ FO Failed him so many ways . Kid should of still had a vet sitting behind him helping him like Romo did last year. IMO they should of kept Tony 1 more year so Dak could learn from him .

with fans like in life grass is always greener on the other side. NFCE is going to be a really really tough Division for a long time with both Eagles and Cowboys having Good Qbs. Might be 3 teams if the Giants draft well , and of course Commanders will shoot themselves in the foot like always.

The biggest difference in Dak between last season and that of 2016 was affected by the decline in the effectiveness of the Dallas OL in the quality of their pass protection. It most likely won't be improved upon substantially until such time as the pass protection becomes at least as reliable as it was in 2016. No QB is likely to thrive with an OL so sorely limited in their ability to pass protect with any real measure of consistency. We'd best hope that the Dallas management and staff find a way to resolve that festering weakness before the 2018 season commences.
