I thought he started off very well. I think the first two drives (could be 3, my memory escapes me), he looked excellent.

I think we pass the ball much more effectively if Romo was the QB, but Dak's teammates didn't help matters any by dropping passes and a defense that was, at best, suspect and a non-existent run game. And his coaching staff didn't help him by continuing to call screen passes to Witten and becoming very conservative in the 2nd half.

So when the media rips on a player, we call it hate and say to ignore it. I guess we only listen to the media when they pump the sunshine.

I dont need the media to make a decision. But its interesting to see what they have to say and how most portray the game.

Fans like you are exactly what I was talking about when I said its happening all over again like it did with Romo but now with Dak. Some guys hate Dak already because they are Romo apologists.

Elliot couldnt run the ball. Morris had 5 yards a pop. We lost because Garrett and Jerrah wanted to showcase their 1st pick. Morris is better.

Morris is a better back right now because he has the experience and he worked with the line during preseason. he should get more carries but Elliott is the better back and he will get better.

Also, the Giants were playing the run on most plays that Elliott was on the field. When Morris was in there, I don't think they were run committing that much because Morris is a very good receiver out of the backfield.

Also, keep in mind he threw the ball away a lot, usually right before taking a would be sack. The previous romo replacements would have not had the clarity to do that. I'd be interested to see what his stats were like for only the real throws to players, minus the throw away tosses.

Let's be clear on that. Yeah, there were some missed catches by the receivers, but there were also some really bad throws that were missed interceptions by the defense. Let's just focus on the facts. Of the 28 quarterbacks, Dak ranked...
  • 26th in passing efficiency
  • 28th in yards per attempt
  • 22nd in completion percentage
  • 21st in adjusted net yards per attempt
In no way did he play well in an absolute sense. He was poor yesterday. You can argue that he was OK for a rookie, but he did not play well yesterday. At all.

Ok feel better? Dez and Beasley catch those td's your dining a different tune.

Did Zeke run well? Just curious.

It was the same thing that usually happens. The OTHER coach goes in at half time, figures out EXACTLY what the Cowboys are doing well and adjusts. Garrett never adjusts so we get beat in the 2nd half on coaching alone.

B+ for dinking and dunking. I guess Weeden and Cassell get B+'s also.

Were they rookies in the NFL making their first start? We didn't end up giving Dunbar 12 catches this game and actually took some chances. But Garihan needs to let him read a defense and take a couple more chances.

Romo himself would have never thrown it away.

what in the living hell????

the "not all on dak" is in response to the idiocy of "this is all on dak" crap.

NO ONE is saying he lit the world on fire - and are you saying (2) TD's were NOT dropped?

I don't know. I see a lot of people saying Dak was "great." That is a lot closer to saying he "lit the world on fire" than someone saying he did not play "well" is to "this is all on Dak."

Fans like me saw the game and aren't ready to anoint the new franchise QB. Fans like you blame everyone but the QB.

I saw nothing to show he's the man of the future. If you did, then I have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn.

Bottom line is he's a 4th round rookie QB making his debut ... how many 4th round QB's become franchise QB's ???

Dude is a rookie and just played his first NFL game. Considering what could have happen, I think he did a decent job. I mean damn, College game and the pro game are way way different. Far more complex and way faster. The kid is lucky he wasn't roadkill.

I am not a huge fan of running QBs, but he played better than I thought he would. I still say he is going to run into real trouble down the line though. Especially once there is enough tape on him.

He is a rookie and he is coached by a moron. These things I understand. And you nailed it. He is a 4th round rookie making his debut. So what were you expecting?

This game was lost by many many things. It also could have been won.

LOL............and if you expecting to see proof positive he is the man of the future in one game then I just laugh at you and leave it at that. Personally I think Dak is our guy. But I can see how someone like you wouldnt see it.

He played pretty well. I would not ask for much more from him. I did not see a single pass that SHOULD have been intercepted. From my view from the TV (meaning, I could not see the field for open receivers) he made good decisions. Cole Beasley had 3 drops at least and Dez had another.

Would Romo have won the game - probably so - but you cannot expect Dak to make the plays that Romo does with 6 weeks of practice under his belt and no experience against NFL defenses.

Lastly - no running game at all to help him out - I put that on the O-line

No.......Garrett definitely needs to be fired. He is terrible. If you cant see that then that is the definition right there.
I never said Garrett did not have any fault because he's human and will make mistakes but I don'tfeel he needs to be fired. Also some of you scream as if you have power but you do not. Jerry owns the team and he has not nor will he EVER listen to you. So again choose another team to cheer for its that simple.

I'm saying he was very good for a project quarterback thrown in a full year ahead of schedule. I'm saying that overall he was as good as Weeden last year - which in the grand scheme is not great. I'm saying his throws contributed to the 'drops.' His accuracy was suspect and throwing the ball 7 1/2 feet high and at high velocity to Beasley means if he doesn't catch it that's not so much a drop as many people want to pretend. And that wasn't the only pass where he didn't help his receivers at all.

Again, for a project he did extremely well and he's at least a year ahead of schedule. But games aren't won and lost on a curve.

Lol at some of you. I'm not saying he's our next franchise qb. But the guy had Alot of drops, one thing I did like is he threw the ball away when he was supposed too. He was good under pressure. He did make key throws. I just wish our receivers didn't eat butterfingers before the game. . 2 key drops, that td to Beasley still bothering the crap out of me

If you're a Cowboy Fan, you would say he played good to great because 1) no turnovers; 2) put our team in a position to win; 3) looked like the preseason was no fluke, so now we are excited about our future. Million miles ahead of Cassel/Weeden. Ugh what a nightmare

If you're a Cowboy Coach, you would say that he played good but needs to improve in a lot of areas. You like his poise and calmness but he needs to improve on accuracy, pre-snap adjustments, etc. But you're excited because this kid is willing to learn.

If you're a Fantasy Football player that started Dak, then you would say he played poorly.

So i'm assuming you started him in Fantasy Football and now you're pissed because his stats sucked.
