Let's be clear on that. Yeah, there were some missed catches by the receivers, but there were also some really bad throws that were missed interceptions by the defense. Let's just focus on the facts. Of the 28 quarterbacks, Dak ranked...
In no way did he play well in an absolute sense. He was poor yesterday. You can argue that he was OK for a rookie, but he did not play well yesterday. At all.
- 26th in passing efficiency
- 28th in yards per attempt
- 22nd in completion percentage
- 21st in adjusted net yards per attempt
talk about misuse of stats, so you base his performance on numbers that do lie......
If you watched him play the game, you can see he was able to move the ball, looked comfortable behind center, and had 2 or 3 balls thrown that had they been caught, you wouldn't of even started this thread.
Apparently some people in this forum feel threatened by Dak, like he is already slotted to take Romo's job right now or something?! why? well you can calm down, he didn't do that in one game so rest assured.
Does he have the potential to take over when Romo is finished? you bet he does, sorry if that hurts your feelings. Does he have some room to grow, yeah of course he does as he is a 4th round rookie afterall, but yesterdays game reinforces the thinking that will be our next great QB not the other way around.
I mean Troy Aikman's first game was not impressive at all at 17 of 35 for 180 yards 0 tds 2 ints 2 sacks, so first game STATS mean absolutely nothing! what he does on the field does
