https://www.dallascowboys.com/news/dak-details-texas-coast-offense-under-mccarthy

"This is the Texas Coast, we've just re-named that," he said. "It's definitely got some West-Coast principles, but it has a little bit of what we've done in the past and just marrying them together with a lot of detail into a system that's not out there."

"I'm 100-percent able to change things, I'm expected to change things much more than anything," he said. "There are certain plays and certain situations that he can call one play and there are three or four plays within that call depending on the defense I get, and I'm expected to get to that look. The cerebral part, just sharpening that and the signals are firing. It's awesome and it's fun."
How many excuses we making for him?

Kurt Warner posted a 5-minute video on YouTube critiquing the design of one of our plays, and it looked bad.
good call the guy up tell him to come be our offensive coordinator right now...or romo someone that was a successful nfl qb who knows how to break down play calls to make sense for the players...

Maybe kept basic because several key players cerebral capacity demands it

Simms watched film of the game thinks our offense is too basic and easy to defend. He doesn't think Dak sucks and thinks Dak had no chance vs Niners with our scheme.

I'm not sure which was MORE to blame last game, but make no mistake about it, Dak sucked that game.

Now I happen to be in the camp that thinks we can make some playoff noise with this team and that includes Dak, but let's not pretend he didn't stink last week

The basic Dumb Dumb Dummy offense is because of the peanut that resides in Between Dak's ears . . . Close the thread

Everybody in the Media has to have their own schtick in order to garner views in this weekly cycle

Meanwhile Delusional Dak Die Hards Cling to it Like a Dingle Berry

It Stinks
So Chris Simms and Kurt Warner both watched the tape and concluded the same thing.

But you know better than these guys I guess.
We should all listen to you.

Give us your breakdown and preach us your gospel.

There is players open.

They can criticize it all they want. There is guys open.
Except there usually isn’t and if the 4th read on a play is who is, with that pass rush, there is no one open when you are lucky to get to the 3rd read.

I assume you are a grown man . . . And have your own opinion

I am not at War with the Truth . . . Nor is Simms in the Truth business. . . He is paid to garner views by offering "unique ideas"

Finding ways to justify Dak was crucial this week to the Talking Heads

I remember watching an episode of Gruden's QB camp where he had a rookie Cris Simms as his QB on the Buccaneers and Simms couldn't handle complicated plays.

Heck, I myself had a hard time understanding Gruden's plays and verbage.

A QBs mental capacity doesn't get as much attention as it should. Why do we just assume all QBs have the same level of football intelligence?

To that point, we could hire a brainiac like Sean McVay and it wouldn't change a thing because Dak needs a simple offense to be effective.
This was the main reason McVay wanted to get rid of Jared Goff.

It is what it is

How many years have we seen the media and other teams talking about how simple our schemes are? At what point do people begin to wonder if that's because Dak can't read a defense and/or process through his reads after the snap? We already know e's toward the bottom half of the league anticipation and ball placement. It just seems like he's way behind the top guys as far as the mental side of the game.

Dak’s been in the league long enough for us to know what he is.

Also, he had players open to throw to regardless of Warner and Simms criticism of the scheme.

I get where the offensive game play issues are coming into discussion. When I rewatched the game a common theme I saw was that receivers were constantly running routes that put them on the same level, which makes zero sense to me. I also saw a lot of what looked like poor decisions live, but looking back seemed to be predetermined throws, not sure if that's on Dak or the playcaller.

With that said though it can both be true that the offensive game plan needs to be better and Dak needs to be better. We also saw multiple times that Dak was nowhere close to hitting guys running open. There seemed to be a lot of deep balls that just floated. Dak looked uncomfortable dropping back all night, and struggled to get the ball out, even in situations where he needed to just throw it away.

Can't let MM off the hook for this one. Can't let Brian Schottenheimer off the hook for this one. Can't let the skill guys off the hook for this one....but you also can't let Dak off the hook for this one. It's the one thing that gives me some hope moving forward that there is so much that can be worked on. The piece that worries me though is that there is so much that can be worked on.
