Front office just need to take the hit over the next two seasons. They aren't winning a Superbowl with Prescott so just end it as soon as is realistic. End of 2023 season seems yo be the time. If he doesn't want to be traded then just have him hold a clipboard. He can embarrass himself all season even further by being a back up and see his stock fall even further or agree to join a team like the Texans

The irony being on the old board I proposed trading Prescott after his rookie season as he was being massively overrated due to the once in a generation O line, a top running backs and all the other pieces on the offense - his stock was never going to get higher. We could have got a Herschel Walker type trade for him. If they do that with Parsons it would be sickening. To dispose of a genuine stud to try and prop up a limited QB like Prescott. It really has to end.
At the time I was right there with you... Not in a knocking Dak way either, I just thought as you mentioned he played out of his mind as a rookie in a way that wasnt likely to be repeated. I would suggest SF do the same thing this year for Purdy if a taker is there. Granted it's easy to look back and cherry pick now, but could you imagine the Cowboys getting a haul from a team like Cleveland at the time to turn around and draft Mahomes?

I'd love if our FO stopped trying to make him Aaron Rodgers and carry the team. he can't do it. STACK THE DECK. It's frustrating seeing our FO think they are drafting geniuses and only using the draft and treating free agency like ross, where they are shopping for bargains

Perhaps Dak's best bet is to go to a team with a front office who is willing to go all out to build a roster around him. And we'll see if the front office can manage to draft a QB who can somehow carry this team, with the current and cheap "We like our guys" way the front office builds up offseason rosters.

I thought exactly the same as you. The Prescott lovers angle their narrative so claim we would have ended up with Baker Mayfield but realistically we were more likely to eventually end up with Mahomes, Jackson, Allen, Herbert etc

I also agree about Purdy. I think he will be badly exposed next week against the Eagles as the Eagles' offense will actually put up points thus putting more pressure on him with Sweat and Reddick filling their boots.

In fairness to Dak, the int total is unusually high for him. He'll probably bring that down. But I've always believed in bringing in competition for him. I mean Roger had to fight for the job. Why have we become so afraid of QB competition?

Hey played terribly. I thought he had turned the corner, but the first interception was horrific.
The two deep passes, the completion to Lamb was underthrown by 5 yards or its a TD guaranteed.
The pass to Gallup was on the wrong shoulder would have been a game changer. As a elite guy you have to make those passes.
Also why could they not do anything up the seams or along the sidelines. The protection was more than adequate, every pass was at the line of scrimmage.
We really let the niners off the hook, they were ready to give away the game.
To me the defense was spectacular
Yes, lad our D's performance has not sunk in yet.

How did Jalen Hurts look before the Eagles stacked their team with all that talent? Dak is not Mahomes or elite, but you can win if THEY ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING WITH THE CAP SAVINGS
Jalen Hurts didn't "hurts" his team with dumb turnovers and decision making. Dak did tho.

Do you realize how ridiculous this sounds. Quarterbacks ,don’t win by themselves.
By the same token, I hear fans at the HRM diner and at the domino tables saying "Well, that scamp Dak brought home the bacon again" or "Tally, ho, boy did Dak convince you now"?
You canna have if both ways, lad. Dak wins game or the Cowboys lost again.

I am not a hate boy, but right now, with the money on the cap there are no other choices or options.

do you have any other options? or you want to tie your legs to the Rush anchor and sink fast?
That is quite a choice, whirly.
There are several options/mitigations.
1. Dak restructures his remaining years.
2. We move heaven and Earth to draft Tanner McKee, QB Stanford. (Young, Stroud, Levis will be gone by that time, cherub.
3. Ask Deek to remove the no-trade clause to allow him to find a home. We send a 2nd-rounder and Dak to say ... Arizona.

Dak is going to restructure. Jones will do that.

I am not buying into this move heaven and earth...because there are going to be 100s of posters, moving heaven and earth for their list of QBs, usually ending up with 10-12 candidates that we should move heaven and earth.

then its all wrong and nobody says anything that they wanted heaven and earth moved to get them...and they do this every year. for 10 years and then they hit on one and they will say, see I told you so, not remember the other 10 heaven and moved QBs they swore by.

Dak is not going to remove his trade clause. Jones will not trade him, he still sells too many jerseys with average fans. and no team is going to take on 80M two year contract unless the player is going to get more years, way more money and no team is going to do that for a 30 year old QB who is not Elite.

sorry, I don't play fantasy or Madden football

So ... you don't like me options. You'd rather live in our stinky, dysfunctional and "nothing changes" reality.

I get it, Stephen.

Never will Jerry & Co. do this but Dak has a cap hit of $49M in 2023 with $89M in dead money so you keep his contract as is and look to the 2023-2024 off-season to trade Dak for whatever draft picks you can get for him (with Dak having $39.9M in dead money then remaining you save $11M against the 2024 cap).

Release Zeke as a post-June 1st cap hit and save almost $11M for 2023 against the cap (and save another $9M in 2024); after the 2023 season you also get rid of Gallup, Tyron Smith, and DLaw....thereby bringing an end to the overpaid, overhyped players that plague this team.
The only reason he wouldn't want to do this is because drafting a QB high and having some struggling years is what he wants to go through with. He thinks the he will lose money, exposure, and the fans. It's simply an underestimation of the fans if that is the case because Dallas fans will come out no matter what. Funny thing is just because you draft a QB high hardly means you will struggle to win for two or three years.

There were a few teams that lost in the playoffs that didn't have the Unicorn QB that can overcome everything including their own mistakes. So, unless Dallas gets ultra lucky three times in a row on getting a QB, it most likely will result to what we saw after Aikman and before Romo. I don't know if anyone remembers that nightmare stretch, but it was awful.

Because he’s a good story. I genuinely believe that’s why the Jones’ keep him. That way, if Dak ever does find a way to win it all, the Jones’ can “take credit” for doing it with their guy

Why would he worry about credit when he's a billionaire? Your ego is convincing you that there's some high speed turds flying @ us that Jerry shared as givings of damns and fux. Assuming his ego concerns itself with the opinions of sheep like us is naive n bloating your ego in actuality. But hey we're still all mad at Dak so let's find common ground there and not what comforts and giggles billionaires.

Prescott, Choked. You still don’t win by yourself. Anybody that doesn’t think so shouldn’t even be discussing
