MAybe, maybe not. Hard to definitely make that claim don;t ya think? One or two (or so) better QB plays might have got us out of SF to the next game.
A lot of fans are making the claim the Cowboys can’t get over the hump because of Dak. A lot of fans were saying the same thing about Romo when he was our QB. Too many fans think it’s easy finding a better QB than what we have. They seem to think QBs like Mahomes grow on trees. Lol They’re either stupid or haven’t been following the NFL very long if they honestly believe that. As for this past season Dak was mainly responsible for the loss to San Francisco. However, if he didn’t play as well as he did the previous week we probably would’ve gone one and done. Until this season he had been a very consistent QB. He never had an INT problem until this season. The Cowboys problems are a lot deeper than just him.

dallas was so stupid. instead of going all in they went WR by committee in 2018 for example. smh
They were stupid trading Amari Cooper for a fifth round pick. Probably the dumbest move in franchise history. They made matters worse by moving on from Cedrick Wilson, signing an FA scrub and resigning Michael Gallup who was coming off an ACL and was going to miss the first few games of the season.

Sometimes to take a step forward you have to take a step back. Maybe let Dak go and roll with a cheap QB and you may get a good draft position or I would be fine with drafting a 1 st round QB even if it involves moving up in the top 5 by trading draft picks. It's the price you have to pay to take a risk on a top QB.
Yep, No Pain.....No gain!

Dak had a 20m cap hit last year (on a 40m AAV) and Mahomes had 37m (on 45m AAV). When teams push cap hits into future years, what exactly did you think that meant? Did you think the restructuring made the hits vanish forever?
no it all goes to future years, but KC won the SB their 2nd recent one and mahomes hit was pretty high.
So what they are doing is worth it.
Jones boys did the short contract, as it was what dak demanded lol, and they pushed too much forward, and didnt go all in for the cheap years!

So now they are facing the huge dak cap hits, unless they extend him, which means a raise in pay for ol dakko!
Dak is making fools of the jones boys lol got to give him credit for that.

The crazy thing is if they extend dak and pay him more money, they still wont go all in , so it wont do any good.
Jones boys are now convinced mike and his new off coaches can fix the offense lol.
Mike has said he knows how to win championships, but meanwhile hasnt been back to a SB in last 12-13 years !
And he had Rodgers and some good GB teams, and now he has had super dak and cowboys for 3 years, and cannot get
past div round.

With his new contract and the guaranteed money to date, in 7 total seasons Dak has earned $131M.......and for that he has 2 playoff wins.

With his new contract and the guaranteed money to date, in 6 total seasons Patrick Mahomes has earned $79M....and for that he has 11 playoff wins and 2 Super Bowl wins (3 appearances)
But what pisses me off is the Chiefs had Alex Smith who is comparable to Dak and realized he just wasn't quite good enough so they moved on from him and drafted Mahomes. When will the Cowboys begin drafting QBs to find his successor. And I mean 1st round QBs.

Yep, all that gets talked about is AAV, but a 4 year vs 10 year deal makes a huge difference.
top 5 highest paid qbs of 2022 did NOT make the playoffs, how about the top paid qbs to make the playoffs where did they finish? all but one was out at the same time... Comparing PM to anyone is useless as this thread.,. Hes in league of his own with the right coach and team.

Dak been in the playoffs 4 of his 6 healthy years made the 2nd round twice and if his OL and run game and OC showed up like pats did in the sb to run over the eagles d, add 2 TOS from their defense one was for TD correct and big punt return as well. thats great team play and how you win a SB

Im betting dak could win as well.

It must stink going thru life not understanding anything?

Dak's contract can and will be reworked and he will count around 20 again this year.

Mahomes' contract cannot be reworked and he will count 50 mill.

Let me know if this is too much for you to get in one post.
May want to tell some.....it's "Rithmetic" to calm them down.

they’ve done it twice. Dez was his #1 and let him go and replaced him with scrubs. (Fail)

to your point i agree with you. i would say Lamb replaced amari , but we never replaced lamb so to speak (#2 WR) and letting wilson go was a mistake

Who's this guy Dov Kleiman? I don't think contracts are his thing. Burrow, Herbert, Jackson, Hurts, none of them will have big cap hits for 2023. They won't even be in the top 10. Mahomes will stay at #3 cap hit, or possibly move up to #2 if they restructure Dak.

Dez was at the end of the line when we released him which is why he was released. He didn’t leave and have almost 1200 yards with 9 TDs on a bad team that’s having QB issues. He did virtually nothing after we released him. No regrets at all about letting him go. Cooper is still one of the best receivers in the game and we traded him for a fifth round pick.
