Can you imagine the crap we’d be hearing if Dak was signed for 10 years? LMAO. No one cares about the cap hit. He was less than 20 million this year. His detractors want to pay him 49 million this year because they want him gone. After he signs a restructured contract, his cap hit will be negligible. That was always the plan.

Was ‘the plan’ also that he would cost this team playoff games? Was that ‘the plan’ too?

As “foolish” as the $22 million cap hit in ‘25 for a player not on the roster?
Stash, which player are you referring to? If it's Dak, it's most likely he will still be here in 2025. If it's someone else, I hear you.

Yes, it’s Dak. He’s already set to count almost $22 million in 2025. And that’s if nothing else is kicked down the road in regard to his contract.

Any talk of this ‘restructuring’ never deals with that fact. And he’s not about to give money back, so any extension would make the situation even worse.

But while fans like to talk about how ‘easy’ it is, take notice of how nobody mentions it or actually tries to do the math.

So it’s totally been our QBs fault? Romo had only two playoff wins in 10 seasons. The bottom line is the Cowboys haven’t had good enough teams. They wouldn’t even be able to contend with some of the QBs you listed.
Factoring in games missed Romo actually only played 8-1/2 seasons.

top 5 highest paid qbs of 2022 did NOT make the playoffs, how about the top paid qbs to make the playoffs where did they finish? all but one was out at the same time... Comparing PM to anyone is useless as this thread.,. Hes in league of his own with the right coach and team.

Dak been in the playoffs 4 of his 6 healthy years made the 2nd round twice and if his OL and run game and OC showed up like pats did in the sb to run over the eagles d, add 2 TOS from their defense one was for TD correct and big punt return as well. thats great team play and how you win a SB

Im betting dak could win as well.
LOL...so you applaud Dak for making the playoffs yet find every excuse under the sun why his poor play vs. SF got Dallas bounced.....it's like Dak has human crutches.

Dak got outplayed by Purdy and CMC, DeeBo, Aiyuk, Kittle, and the oline. Who did Dak have after Pollard went down? CeeDee Lamb.........that's it.
The Dallas defense shut down the 49ers offense to the tune of:

CMC 10 carries 35 yards 1 td 6 catches 22 yards
Deebo 4 carries 11 yards 4 catches 45 yards
Aiyuk 2 catches 26 yards
Kittle 5 catches 95 yards

Dallas defense allowed 19 points, of which 6 came off of Dallas INT's.....

Understood.

The same thing happened with Romo.

Dak’s willingness or not to give something back should determine whether he stays after 2024 or not. At the same time for the same reason, as Jerry has stated recently, it would be wise to draft a QB this year (perhaps someone like Univ. of Houston's Clayton Tune in the 3rd or 4th round).

Impressive college career stats, especially the jump increase in production in 2021 and 2022:

Really like this QB, especially the more film one sees on him:

How many INTs or Turnovers did the Dallas D commit against the rookie 3rd string 49ers QB?

Answer: 0

Well, last time I checked a defense doesn't commit turnovers but rather causes turnovers.

That said, so you are blaming the defense because they didn't cause any turnovers while holding SF to 19 points (13 if not counting the points off the 2 Dallas INT's)? Interesting defense.

Factoring in games missed Romo actually only played 8-1/2 seasons.
And factoring the same games missed, Dak has actually only played 6 seasons.

Yet, Romo occupied a roster spot and got paid for 14 seasons with the Cowboys, while Dak has only been with the team for 7, half of Romo's time with the team. Totally destroys your narrative.
