Dak has ruined this team

Think about all that we’ve given up for this teams buy in with him

-cap hell for the next decade

-losing out on good players and free agents

-he’s about to get his second coach fired next year

-the 2016 decision to go with him over Romo leading to a first round exit

-squandering the best cowboys team in 20 years with another first round exit due to poor qb play

-cutting or trading players who don’t get along with Dak or we just can’t simply afford them anymore

Think about the following qb option we had the last 2 years

1. Tom Brady
2. Aaron Rodgers
3. Russell Wilson
4. Dashaun Watson
5. Matt Stafford

And Dak makes more money than all of them. I know this isn’t all predicated on Dak but it’s kind of hard not to feel that we’ve been cheated out of something since we signed him to this ridiculous deal
Who owns the team?
Who is the General Manager?
Who is the Director of Personnel?
Who is the defacto Head Coach interviewed immediately after every game?

Neither one of those questions have the answer of Dak Prescott. So who ruined the Dallas Cowboys turning them into the Arlington Jonesboys?

... why anyone would blame the player for taking Jerry's money is crazy.

Because they aren't the ones with that opportunity. So then they need to use "moral failure" slander to feel good again. Lol.

Dak did not ruin the team, this exaggeration ridiculous I did not see Romo go any further than Dak has through out his career and you give him a pass? As for money Dak is not even the highest paid QB in the NFL and while it is a lot of money it is also the market rate, you don't have to like it but it is what it is.
the problem with this analogy is that romo never had the quality of defense that Dak had last year to win games . Not to mention dak had a some of the best OL teams as well, not to mention the all start receivers the last few years. But Dak could not do it despite all that. Not to mention what dak did to the cap with his contract. But jerry signed his contract and it will be a tough few years ,

In some season he did. He played in Dallas as a started 10 season, with in that time frame Dallas also had a Demarcus Ware. This in complete none sense, Romo had teams with talent including the league leader in rushing with Murry, he had TO and a host of other talent. I loved having Romo but this crap of playing excuse game for Romo now while ganging up on Dak is pathetic.

Dak is guilty of being greedy and selfish which will hurt the team for years to come. I remember how fans were laughing about Dak and the $40 million a year rumors. It was totally outrageous at the time that Dak would even think he was good enough to get the kind of contract that the Jones gave him.

You resemble my previous post here, lol. Remember that the team leaked that info to make Dak look bad during negotiations. So much so that Dak's team came out and said they didn't ask for $40M, which almost never happens. So when it came time for negotiations next time around I would have said "if you want to pull that crap, you're not signing me for anything less than $40M a year now." Not sure if that's what they said but poetic justice worked itself out nonetheless. Assist to Watson for breaking the $40M sub-Mahomes market a few weeks after Dak agreed to the tag. Stew, my pretties, stew. Lol.

So the 19.7 mill cap hit for a top 10 QB is hurting this teams ability to field players....Hmm says alot about the teams paying way more and still signing players..right?

ok, so its all Jerry's fault.

then why all the hate on Dak? Dak is what he is. he doesn't play bad on purpose. he does what he is capable of and its not elite. so I don't understand the 10,000s of thousands of posts trying to prove Dak is bad. isn't that established already. so why post the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over again....what difference does it make. Jerry screwed this team. we are going to suck and be average for the next few years. Dak will be gone, so will zeke and the next one comes through the door and same thing. since Johnson we have not had any success. that's over quarter of a century, almost half of NFL superbowl era
Not Dak hate at all I don't try and prove anything about him no need to his play speaks for its self, you show up a lot and I see your view of him has changed, my view is pretty much the same on him and nowhere did I blame him for the mediocre teams, He's played some bad games and I like many don't have 10,000s of thousands excuses for him just like I don't have 10,000s of thousands of posts either. Glad to see you understand it's on Jerry and will continue that way for a while, at least you understand that much.

Honestly I don’t believe that Jerry thinks Dak is elite.Jerry was never fully sold on him which is why he wasn’t signed years ago at a much lower price. He was hoping to load up w/ talent around him and see what happens. It didn’t really pan out, as now he’s paying him much more $ as there weren’t many other options to go to and most likely won’t be winning big games for a while.
Fair assessment, different twist but the results are the same.

Au contraire. You're only remembering the last few years.

2009 it was 9th.
2008 it was 8th. Romo got hurt.
2007 it was 9th.
2006 it was 13th.

40 million with 200 available to an average player. That sums up our chances here.

For some reason so many have fond memories of Romo and think if Romo was the QB we would be much better off. Romo had plenty of opportunities with some great teams.

yes, we will continue to mire in meidocrity as long as Jones is running the team. I have to admit, that perhaps finally I am giving up my excitement for the cowboys. I am less interested this offseason than any year in the past. I am not even looking forward to the draft or camp or next season.

oh, its simple. you want a 30 page thread. just mention Dak and take a side, doesn't matter one side or other and it will become eventaully about Dak sucking, padding stats, and big contract and being cap strapped. gauranteed every time

and the 17M cap hit he had in 2020.....but its hurting this team now, because I want to use average to make my case, actual cap value be damned...but hey Lawrence, 22M....that didn't hurt, nor did Zeke, nor 22M cooper cap hit...nah....
