Dak has surpassed Romo

Geezus.

Romo was wasted practically his entire career here due to JJ's idiotic investment in Garrett. He went from Parcells to Phillips to Garrett, a progressively worse coaching staff. Had Parcells stayed, the anti-Romo contingent likely wouldn't have anything to talk about.

Romo was an "American-dream" QB. He earned everything he got. Including his broadcasting job. The hate he gets from certain people here is so freaking annoying.

Dak is playing great now, but give it a rest. In terms of talent, Dak has now two rosters that are just as talented as the most talented of any roster that Romo ever had, and he's always had better coaching (except for Parcells). Yes, even the Garrett coached team (where Romo also served as a coach) in Dak's 2016 rookie year. Dak playing great doesn't mean Romo sucked.

Romo's most talented roster was in 2007 and that was in Wayne's first year here (but the defense was just average) and they lost to the eventual SB champions who beat the undefeated Patriots. It was practically downhill from there until 2016.

The other playoff teams Romo had were never even in the SB conversation. His offensive line got whipped in Minnesota and Dez was robbed in Green Bay. Every other team he had was just average or just plain sucked.

I bet you were also saying Dandy Andy was better than Dak and would prove it when he got his chance last year.

You guys were making excuses once Collins was injured.. We almost beat Philly last year with DeNucci when Moore decided to just run behind Zach Martin, who Andy only played with when he, guess what? Beat the Giants….

Love how Dak is playing

Give Romo in his 6th season, this oline, RBs, WRs and especially, this OC……he would’ve been insane

But if some think Dak is now better, thats fine too

Good for the Cowboys

You could argue Romo had exactly this in his 6th season. That was 2007.

Herbert has a great team around him and one of the best receiving groups in the league.

No, Herbert had done good WRs and no RG and OL like us period. We played cover 2 zone all day against this second year QB who basically torched our secondary alive, downfield.

Boy, he's this

close to drawing even. But he can only do that much during the regular season. He's got to amass a post-season that is clearly superior to Romo to exceed him. History will record them as very similar DC QBs unless that happens, and without having taken time to read this thread, my bet would be I'm only echoing what others said before me.

You guys forget he unseated Romo in his rookie year.

Dak is a special player. Admit it. I know it's hard. But this is the franchise QB we've searched for since Aikman.

OK, I'll play.
#1 Dak didn't unseat Romo, politics unseated Romo. Plain pure and simple. Romo was the best QB on that team that year and in my opinion that team would have gone further in the playoffs had he been QB 1 instead of Dak.
#2 Dak is a very good FOOTBALL Player, but AGAIN, in my opinion, he still has a lot of problems with the forward pass, which I think it the primary grading tool of the NFL QB. He is better than many of the other QBs in the league today, but he is still not a "Franchise" QB. The money that was spent on him could have been better spent on some defensive studs and this team could have gone after the kid that NE has now.
#3 All of this talk about haters and agendas is just covert language for things that can't be said on this forum, so just stop with it. Nobody "Hates" Dak Prescott. Hate JJ, Oh yeah, maybe.

He is playing better than Romo ever has. Tony is my all time favorite player. It’s just a testament to where Dak is at right now.
Numbers aside Dak has finally turned the counter. He's taken his leadership, football skills to the NEXT LEVEL. His knowledge of the game is also a key to Boys success. It's nice to know that he doesn't have to throw for 400 yds every game to bring victories to this team.

77% completion and he has a problem with the forward pass?!?!?!

Also, yeah Romo got hurt, but Daks play was so good that a healthy Romo couldn't get the job back. That equals unseating.

he surpassed him his rookie year. Jerry bet a 5 BILLION dollar franchise on the kid despite his growing old age.

He’s not stupid. He must’ve saw practices and like the rest of the team knew the cowboys had a better chance to win/future with Dak.

We saw Tony’s ceiling in 2014. He can’t go toe to toe with elite qbs like how he lost to rodgers.

Dak this season has outplayed Brady and herbert.

no way whatsoever. Julius Jones and Marion Barber were our RBs and Garrett was basically our OC, though Sparano was baby sitting him. Our OL was composed of journeymen outside Adams. This was the same offense outside a couple players with Parcells.

Romo masked the over-rated trash on this roster.
