Cowboys are hitting the reset button after this season. They"re not signing him. All the contract noise is PR people doing PR stuff.

Why should Dak take a sweetheart deal here? So Jerry and the boys can pocket more money? They literally made no real moves to better the team, so to take 'less' would be idiotic. You only take less on teams that are actually trying to win.
Sweetheart deal? Wow

After his last contract Dak should have fired his agent. Him no doing that and letting his agent ask for a crazy amount lets me know it’s more about the money. He could take 58 or whatever makes him the highest paid on paper. It’s about the guaranteed and signing bonus when it’s all said and done. These guys get these big checks and already have generational wealth. But if Dak signed for 1 dollar then another player on the team would push for more and eat up the savings. I get the fact the next play could be your last and they need to make for there families. But at some point it needs to stop. There is a salary cap. So just cap the the positions.. The money goes up as the cap goes up..

Not against our offense, because most teams want to control the ball, limiting our opportunities. That was the 49ers game plan in 2021. Jimmy G had limitations and they didn’t want him facing our pass rush. Our Achilles heel is stopping the run and their plan was to run the football and control it which they did for 169 yards. The 49ers had a great defense and allowed it to win the game for them.
Dallas had less than 60 yards rushing in that game, so maybe their plan was to put the game in Dak’s hands. Seemed to have worked out.

He didn’t have all round super talent last year and led them to a 12-5 record and the playoffs. Can’t win in the playoffs if you can’t run or stop the run.
I have read here in the forums , Dak didn’t lead the team to 12-5 record and playoffs, it’s a combination of Big Mac offense , and Quinn’s opportunistic defense giving short fields . In any case , he didn’t lead the team when points were needed the most to keep up with GB .

The first line of defense in any game, especially in the playoffs is stopping the run. We couldn’t run the ball against San Francisco. They have a great defense and they stuffed our running game. If you can’t stop the run in the playoffs, you’re losing. Statistically Dak was better than Jimmy G in the 2021 playoff game, but the 49ers limited our offensive opportunities by running the ball down at our throats. Your best offense can be your defense. McCarthy said after the game they dominated us in the trenches. The Jones is echoed the same thing. The Cowboys have never won a playoff game in their entire history where they gave up 169 yards or more on the ground. When you give up that amount of yards on the ground, you’re being manhandled.

Dak doesn't show up unless the defense does. There were hints at things to come even before that GB game. That's why I never. Changed my vote on that Dak poll. I kept saying wait till the playoffs and sure enough panicky Dak showed up.

Its the FO and the Defense that MADE the offense play poorly in the playoffs......

Isn't it the same damn FO and Defense that help get the Offense to the playoffs??

or was it Dak that got the Defense and FO to the playoffs???

SF had the ball for 7 more minutes, so you're acting like they controlled the entire game. Dallas had their chances on offense and punted FIVE times and had TWO turnover on downs.

Dak got the offense to the playoffs, not the defense, not anything that Dak did to lose in the playoffs, he was spectacular, he was "carving them up"...but the defense let them down. But now he is trying to play Robin Hood to save the world of QB's for todays and the future QBs. He don't want the man to keep them down. The dude is as phoney as a three dollar bill.

So are we gonna be paying him to be a QB or the next NFLPA president???
