It’s not a huge discrepancy, but it’s pretty big. Our offense was capable of doing a lot of damage with an extra 8 minutes. We certainly could have won that game with an extra 8 minutes of offense. Our defense was borderline garbage in that game. You’re not playing near well enough when you’re giving up 169 yards on the ground. You’re being owned.
Again, the Dallas offense punted FIVE times and had TWO turnover on downs. They had their chances and failed.

Dak is not taking less money his agent has instructed him to do what is best for his future and in no way does taking a 5 million pay cut even if you were guaranteed a super bowl win make any financial sense.
These players now play for generational wealth not super bowl accolades and trinkets.
Worse yet the actions of our owner has taught these players about how to market themselves and to stay healthy and able to make money in the short window they have.
Nobody's taking less money you have to have a sharp front office that gets rid of people a year early rather than stockpiles a group of people that require a king's Ransom so you can't build the team to be competitive
Yes, Jerry certainly trained them by his actions to be business first. The ironic thing is Jerry believes he knows better than anyone else. So that being said, I’m expecting an announcement at some point that both Cee Dee and Dak have been extended.

We could’ve had more chances had the defense played well. Just a couple of extra series could’ve made a huge difference. Time ran out on us in the end. Your standards must be really low if you think the defense played well enough. You rarely see anyone win a playoff game giving up 169 yards on the ground. We had some chances, but San Francisco’s defense stepped up.

Reminds me of what we have now except like 9 year’s ago. How have you lasted this long…. Viagra?
What we have now doesn’t have the untimely turnover issues like the one we had. The one we had waited until the game was on the line in the closing minutes before he turned the ball over. The one we have now is able to right the ship after a bad start, unfortunately it was too little too late against Green Bay. Even had he played great from start to finish we would’ve still lost the game in a shootout. Green Bay could have scored 60 if they needed to.

Yep Rocky I think those guys understand that no matter how much of a discount they gave Jerry he would not use the funds to gain the free agents we would need to get over the top.

I think those players and their agents have seen too much of Jerry's business model and know what he's about and have decided they're going to play the game like him stay relevant stay healthy and able to make the most money in the short window that is their NFL career

23 points given up isn’t terrible and certainly gives you a chance. It was a 6 point loss, and Dallas punted five times and turned it over on downs twice. It's easy to do the math.

We may not have given up 24 points had we been able to get the 49ers off the field. Like I keep telling you, they wanted to control the ball and keep our high-powered offense off the field. They ran the ball so well Jimmy G only had to attempt 25 passes, while Dak had to attempt 43. Not only did our defense give up 169 rushing yards but we didn’t sack Jimmy G once. Dak was sacked 5 times. Our OL didn’t get it done run blocking or in pass protection. The 49ers out played us. We don’t match up well with them. They’re two physical for us and they’re able to beat us regardless who they have at QB. They probably could’ve beaten us with Trey Lance at QB. lol

It's unbelievable how many excuses are made. Dallas had 7 fricking points going into the 4th quarter, but it was the defense's fault. After so many drives without points, the defense is going to tire out.
I was saying that during the game
Will the offense actually do any thing?

So now we need to account for extra series because the QB can't get it done with what he was given??? give me a break.

What high powered offense??? if we were that great they could of helped the D stay off the field and not get rushed on for 169... The offense can dictate what the other team does too...

Our defense and the 14 penalties we had were the main reason we lost that game. You’re just one of those who puts every loss entirely on Dak.

This is a great point KJJ about penalties. Not only in the GB game but all the games against better teams. Cowboys have been one of the top most penalized teams in the NFL.

2023 Cowboys 3rd most
2022 Cowboys 9th most
2021 Cowboys 1st most

Yet the QB gets all the blame.

We ranked number one in total offense in 2021. But we got foiled by the number three overall defense and our own stupidity of shooting ourselves in the foot with repeated penalties that had us leading the league in 2021. The 49ers only had 34 more total yards than us and only one more first down, but the key to the game was their ability to consistently run the football. Defensively they were able to stop our run and put pressure on Dak all day. We would’ve had more yards and points had we not committed 14 penalties. I’m surprised we still had a chance to win the game in the end with all the rushing yards SF had and all the penalties we shot ourselves in the foot with.
