Dak: I want to be here (but) all the other great quarterbacks played for other teams

When you throw 2 int's (one being a pick six) and have trouble even completing a pass in the first half because of the headlights .......... that tends to happen.

But like you said ....... this is a moot discussion.
We were already down 7-0 before our offense ever stepped on the field. Dak gave them 7 but on his second pick our defense couldn’t keep them out of the endzone. Had we just held them to an FG it would have kept us in the game. Dak could have played the game of his life and we would have lost in a shootout because our defense couldn’t stop the Packers all day. When San Francisco got down 24-7 to Detroit in the conference title game their defense stepped up. Purdy was having a bad day and an INT he tossed contributed to that deficit. Go look at the plays the 49ers defense made to help them get back in that game. Bosa started taking over the game with two sacks. Our best defensive player who’s going to be looking for $40 million per season didn’t have a single sack against the Packers. He did absolutely nothing in that game. You’re not going to win in the playoffs if you can’t sack the opposing QB or keep them out of the endzone.

I’ll be fine with a new HC but not a new QB. I don’t care to relive the post Aikman years.
It's an ultra-conservative thought process but sometimes you cut the faith and quit being so scared to possibly improve the most valuable position on the entire team.
You would rather stay with a regular season hero then even entertain the notion of possibly developing and replacing Dak.
Eventually the Dak replacement date will come into fruition, and when that date is much earlier than you expect, you are going to feel a bit behind the thought process.

Dak is far from a bad QB and if you really believe he is, you’re not the most astute football fan. He’s one of the top QBs in the league whether you and others can’t bring yourselves to admit it or accept it.
Dak isn't a very good QB either. If he were a top QB in the league then he would play like a top QB in the league. He does not. What he does is play like a top QB when the competition is bad and plays like a scrub when the competition is good. Anytime he is required to step up and make a play he fails. Anytime any sort of pressure is put on him, he folds. Not really sure how many years of this people need to watch to realize that he is an average QB who puts up stats against bad teams and is fortunate to be playing in one of the weakest divisions in the NFL.

My point is it’s going to be very difficult improving on the QB we have. Dak’s numbers compare to all the top QBs in the league and he has the fifth highest career passer rating in NFL history. He just led the league in TD passes. Roger Staubach is the only Cowboys QB to ever do that. He was second in the MVP voting last season. I think Dak is a terrific QB, but things haven’t gone well for him and the team in the playoffs, causing fans to want to move on for him. I’m not moving on from my franchise QB because the team and defense has failed in the playoffs.

Oh you don't have to convince me of that ......... 4 playoff games and one Sack is not gonna cut it as a "Superstar" ...... and if he is being triple teamed ...... what are the other guys doing?

The team/defense sucks in the playoffs and it all gets thrown on him. The same thing has been happening to Lamar Jackson. Josh Allen has had his problems in the playoffs.
This Defense will be coming along nicely by the time the season starts, I'm not seeing the huge concerns that many are claiming.
I see a deep defense at many positions, and young investments finally stepping up, or being given the chance to step up.
Having a make it or break it attitude inspires motivation to survive the final cuts, and we have a few bubbles like Wright and Muk, just to lead the pack.

What are you talking about the game was over as sooner a day the his pick six and another in our red zone. Fact is the first quarter that game was out of reach. By end of second quarter Dallas had thrown two interceptions contributing to 14 of their points. He had contributed to zero points and the seven was a score off our defense that let him down. So score without his interception and him doing nothing would be 13-7 not 27-7. Those are the facts and Adam is directly responsible for it with his poor play.
assuming the defense stopped them.. right? what game did you watch that made you think the defense was gonna stop them if they had started from their own 20 instead of anywhere else? Dak sucked the first half no way around it...but that defense was just as bad no matter who the QB was that day...no way around that either...

The defense was top 5 last year during the regular season, but it continues not to show up in the playoffs. After the first two games last season many fans on this board were proclaiming this was the greatest defense the Cowboys have ever had. The following week they got road graded by a bad AZ team. The defense stunk against most of the contending teams we played last season. The defense feasted with turnovers and defensive scores against bad teams. The worst defensive performances we had during the regular season showed up against Green Bay in the playoffs. I don’t have much confidence that Zimmer will get this defense fired up for the big games. He’s not the most inspiring guy to listen to.

You must not recall the plays very well. Yes we went down seven but then we held them after offense punted. Dak throws first pick on third down and did it on 19. This is just as good as throwing pick six as defense has been on field the entire game. Dak and offense go nine plays for 39 yards and give ball back. Greenbay scores but at this point our defense has already saw deer in headlights from Dak. Dak goes back out and throws a pick six. You think any defense could over come that mental breakdown by their QB?

I recall what happened in that game. Our defense was completely dominated. It was GARBAGE! We couldn’t run the ball, our OL struggled in pass protection and everything got thrown on the shoulders of our QB. That’s the recipe for getting your butt handed to you in a playoff game.

Odds are Dak won't win a SB with the Cowboys. Offering a big contract to a player you know can't do this for you while also being a player with a history of injuries, and that list will only get bigger and more devastating with each season.

The Cowboy's failure is that it looks like they have no real plan in place, this is why trading Dak if possible is win win for everybody involved. It just doesn't look that way now because people are getting hyped for a new season.

Continues? You seem to forget that the defense held San Fran to 19 pts and 23 pts the two years before. Defense didn’t stand a chance in 2023 with bozo throwing 2 picks in the first quarter, one pick six and the other on the 19yard line. It’s laughable to think any defense is going to overcome that kind of a start.

soo your theory is unless the offense is playing good the defens just gives up? Thats not a good defense at all. The defense gave up TD's on 8 straight drives...Dak sucked but he didnt throw 8 INT's..its ok to say Dak has blame but so do the other players.

Some of you keep going back to those two games against San Francisco. I’ve said over and over that Dak was terrible against the 49ers in 2022. That loss was on him. That was the only playoff loss under Dak where our defense played respectable. However, in the loss against San Francisco in 2021, our defense sucked! We gave up 169 rushing yards and got dominated in the trenches. You won’t find a playoff game in Cowboys history where they gave up 160+ rushing yards and won. Dak had a better game statistically than Jimmy G. Had we made him throw the ball more he would’ve melted down. The 49ers controlled the ball 34 minutes in that game. Had our offense gotten more opportunities we could have easily won. We still had a chance in the final minute to tie the game despite our poor defensive play.
