Meanwhile, Trey Lance is looking sharp at training camp. Jerry needs to take notice and understand there is another way to fill the QB1 role. Do not sink the Cowboys' ability to acquire talent just to sign Dak beyond this season. In the entertainment business, they say "break a leg" to wish for good luck. Break a leg, Dak.
Trance is looking Sharp.

What color is the sky in your world?

Do I think there are some posters here who genuinely dislike the guy? Yeah. I am not one of em though. In a league where you get 3 years to prove yourself generally, I have come to the conclusion that it just isn't going to happen with Dak as Cowboys QB after 8 years. Maybe someone like Sean McVay or Jim Harbaugh could cover up his short comings to get further in the post season. He needs a fresh start and so does the team.
So you think players that get tagged and resigned did not prove themselves?

I take Trevor over Dak all day plus he’s still very young. Dak will be more than happy to sign here if the price is right. I think the right move is to let Dak play this year on his current contract, he stinks it up he can test FA, he wins big he can still test FA and it will cost us more than it will cost us today. I think it’s the right move to hold our chips. Love your Richardson pic btw, love to see her grab some Gold!
Being young is it a QB strength.

Perhaps but throwing check-downs against 7 on 7 is not a good look. In the same summary they pointed out that Dak had a couple of "beautiful deep balls throws." I think Cooks caught one for a TD and the other was dropped.. but I don't remember the name of the receiver.. I just know it wasn't CD Lamb!
If you are afraid to throw the ball more than 5 yards in 7 on 7, with no pass rush, you have a problem.

Exactly. People think that saying that Dak isn't worth it somehow automatically means that all the rest of these QB's are worth it as well. The only ones on that list even worth that big payout is Mahomes and Burrow. One horrible contract shouldn't mean that now you try and top it by offering a bigger bad contract.
Yes. The NFL should just be a two team league. I mean all the QB suck right.

The delusion is that Dak is going to take less money than these chumps who have accomplished far less in the league than he has.
Lol at Chumps.

Burrow went to the Superbowl in his first 5 years... has Dak done this?

Love has beat a #2 seed in their house as a bottom seed ... has Dak done that?

Dak has one more playoff win that Trevor Lawrence (for now)

Tua - Sure he should make more than him based on 10 years of regular season stats

Goff - 5-4 playoff record including a trip to the Superbowl

Hurts - Superbowl appearance

I love this time of year when you come out of hiding after talking so much Dak silliness only to have him embarrass you and then go hibernate for a few months.

I think saying he isn't an elite QB is pretty harsh.

There's like 8 billion people in the world...and theres only 18 to 20 people alive who are better at playing QB than he is. That's amazing!

Unfortunately....all 18 or 20 of those people currently play in the NFL too. I wish they'd leave and become plumbers or electricians instead. Then we might win something

The last camp report I read said both backup QBs were "struggling." But you keep repeating the same hope and prayers that Dak will be gone.. in a few years you will get your wish! LOL!
It's impossible to have any sort of a convo in a Dak thread. They are filled w/ lying, exaggerating, half truths, no truths, personal attacks and insults, and just extreme stupidity.

Dak is getting high on his own supply.
He's under the illusion or delusion that he is an Elite QB.
He doesn't understand or refuses to understand that Jerry can't and doesn't want to lock up the cap for a QB that has failed to produce any playoff success.
If he signs him to a long term deal not only will it affect the ability to sign or resign players, it will be a disaster too if the team doesn't have any playoff sucess this season.
The fans will be ready to move on from him and resent Dak and Jerry for doing the deal.
Dak isn't a Force Multiplier type QB where he helps elevate the talent around him. He requires superior talent around him to succeed.
Having Dak at such a high cap rate will hurt in getting the talent necessary to help him succeed. So Jerry doesn't want to commit himself to Dak and continue to be a mid level team. He will likely want to go the route of acquiring and keeping superior talent while having a QB who doesn't eat up so much cap space and could possibly give you the same or better results than Dak.
Said this for years. It's his greatest asset and achilles heel: He has unconditional belief in himself UNTIL the moment arrives...and then you see Mr. Doubt and Dr. Double Clutch.
