Sure, that will fix all our problems. You are grasping at straws. Our issues have nothing to do with money.
Our GM doesn’t value DTs, LBs, or S’s, right up the middle of the defense.
Our GM thinks the offense can succeed with 2 rookies starting on the OL, no RB with any special skills, and only 1 wr.

Show me another team with this approach that is successful.
In the very few years when he provided 2 good receivers and a decent RB, he totally neglected the defense and we couldn’t stop anyone. Then it’s a season with no receiving corps. Then it’s no LT. Then it’s no DTs or LBs. Then it’s no RBs or WRs. It’s always something that he completely neglects.

Football is simple. Stop the run. Run the ball. Have a couple of explosive receivers. Play to the strengths and weaknesses of your QB. Have solid special teams play.

You don’t need super stars everywhere to do the above. You need solid role players to compliment a few studs.
Youre forgetting to leave out the most obvious sign that this is all a lie...

Kellen Moore.

Wiz kid.

Everyone on here had their pitch forks screaming for a creative OC. We get one. He comes in, I think his second year...maybe third, the first like 4 games of the season we came out with guys motioning and every receiver was open by 7 yards.

Then poof. It all went away. Moore showed he had it and then it stopped mysteriously. And everyone on this site just doesnt want to talk about it and the few that would talk on it made lousy excuses.

Its so lame pilfering off some ones head for whatever weak excuse they have.

Guarantee no one wants to bring up the video from what ever season that was and discuss it here. All the bots will disappear.

You don't go All-In on a pair...we missed the bus. We'll lucky to have a winning season in 2025 and if we don't Dak may be a FA a bit earlier than he wanted.
I hear that brother we not only missed the bus but has fans we got thrown under the next one.

With this new contract of Daks we are so far under the bus I can smell the 90 weight gear oil dripping on me.

He needs decrease to 45-50 a year max. Is that possible for him to redo and take less? Management needs to demand he redo it. Otherwise we are screwed for 4 years.
This is nonsensical.

They can't cut him (without completely crippling their ability to field an actual professional team) ..he knows that.

So if you knew your boss couldn't fire you, and he came to you and said "hey, would you mind if we reduced your salary by $50,000", would you say "sure, feel free to!"?

Unlikely

Nailed it. No player in the NFL is going to say "you paid me too much, go ahead and take some back". Total nonsense.

Dak could be making 1m per year and it wouldn't make a difference. The only difference it would make is to allow the Cowboys to pay more of their own players instead of letting them walk. But it will not change the front office standard operating procedure. Until the SOP changes, it doesn't really matter much.

Ignorant arse thread. What is another 10 million per year gonna do for this putrid roster? Also, did Jerry give money back to Dak when he outplayed his rookie contract?
This post is more ignorant than the OP.
OP was just asking a question. But to make the comment, “what’s 10 million going to do for this roster” is dumb!! Look around the NFL at all the guys who make 1-10 million per year. There are several pro bowlers, and whole lot of above average players making around 10 million.

Now if you’re trying to make the point that one player isn’t going to do anything, whatever. Nobody around here thinks one player is going to bring the team back to the top. You still have to roster build. Sure we all know Dak isn’t taking a pay cut, but it’s still a hypothetical question worth discussing.

The union would go crazy if he took a 10 mil pay cut. Dak set the market, and several guys are about to get paid at, or above that mark because of the deal he got. In two years we will be having the silly argument about “how cheap Dak is compared to what they’re making now” ..

If Dak was gonna give the team a deal, he would’ve done it last spring. He proved his selfishness and lack of team building awareness.

The point is what is the worst GM in the N.F.L. going to do with another 10 million for this roster. Sorry I have to spell it out for you.

Why would he put money back on the table? He got his and that's what he wanted.

Lol...it's over Man. Cowboys aren't doing anything in the Playoffs for another 4 years, find a way to cope with the mediocrity.

Regarding the roster, Dak ain’t the issue and Daks contract is not the issue. No player should take a pay cut no more than any of us would take a pay cut at our jobs. The Cowboys can create cap space even with Daks contract.

Telling your star player to do more with less is pretty dumb. A real front office wants a star player QB and good players around him. Look at the Lions, high paid QB, with elite receivers backs and an oline.

Dak has 1 great olineman, 1 great WR and that’s about it on offense. Having those players and nothing else has nothing to do with his contract. If the Cowboys really wanted to do more they would invest in free agents (real ones not 1-2 million players)

Real Front offices don’t pay Michael Gallup “after” he gets injured. Real front offices don’t sign Zeke as part of ANY 1-2 running back punch. That ain’t Daks contract, that’s the front office.

I'd love to see the look on Todd France's face if Jerry and Stephen called him and said "Hey, we're going to need to redo Dak's contract to have him take less"

Usually players need to take a paycut after they play declined for two years or more.

Dak was bad before he got his new contract, he is bad now. there is no decline. you cant argue as a FO: hey dak you are bad take a paycut.

Dak was injury prone before he signed the contract and missed a lot of games. So you have no leverage also.

and even if you have some good reasons Dak wont take a paycut. Never. Especially not for the better of the team.
Dak was an All Pro and MVP runner-up in 2023-24 season (season before new contract). So please tell us how his play declined or was bad that season.

Why would he do that? No matter what you or myself, or even what God thinks of him, telling someone to take a paycut is silliness. If you are dumb enough to give it to me, then you can suffer the dumb results. If you want to rid yourself of my contract, all you have to do is draft a QB in the first round, and bench me. Then I ( I being Dak for example) then I will simply ask for a trade, and there you go.
