Still can't believe this front office gave him that deal.
Youre forgetting to leave out the most obvious sign that this is all a lie...Sure, that will fix all our problems. You are grasping at straws. Our issues have nothing to do with money.
Our GM doesn’t value DTs, LBs, or S’s, right up the middle of the defense.
Our GM thinks the offense can succeed with 2 rookies starting on the OL, no RB with any special skills, and only 1 wr.
Show me another team with this approach that is successful.
In the very few years when he provided 2 good receivers and a decent RB, he totally neglected the defense and we couldn’t stop anyone. Then it’s a season with no receiving corps. Then it’s no LT. Then it’s no DTs or LBs. Then it’s no RBs or WRs. It’s always something that he completely neglects.
Football is simple. Stop the run. Run the ball. Have a couple of explosive receivers. Play to the strengths and weaknesses of your QB. Have solid special teams play.
You don’t need super stars everywhere to do the above. You need solid role players to compliment a few studs.
I hear that brother we not only missed the bus but has fans we got thrown under the next one.You don't go All-In on a pair...we missed the bus. We'll lucky to have a winning season in 2025 and if we don't Dak may be a FA a bit earlier than he wanted.
This is nonsensical. He needs decrease to 45-50 a year max. Is that possible for him to redo and take less? Management needs to demand he redo it. Otherwise we are screwed for 4 years.
This is nonsensical.
They can't cut him (without completely crippling their ability to field an actual professional team) ..he knows that.
So if you knew your boss couldn't fire you, and he came to you and said "hey, would you mind if we reduced your salary by $50,000", would you say "sure, feel free to!"?
Unlikely
Dak could be making 1m per year and it wouldn't make a difference. The only difference it would make is to allow the Cowboys to pay more of their own players instead of letting them walk. But it will not change the front office standard operating procedure. Until the SOP changes, it doesn't really matter much.He needs decrease to 45-50 a year max. Is that possible for him to redo and take less? Management needs to demand he redo it. Otherwise we are screwed for 4 years.
It’s all five. It's real easy to talk about another man's money... I don't know if this is funny, ignorant, pathetic, desperate or just a joke...
wait until you see the deal for big mikeStill can't believe this front office gave him that deal.
The Deshaun watson deal is the worst, albert haynesworth, Jamarcus RussellCowboys have the worst NFL player deal of all time ,
makes no sense.
This post is more ignorant than the OP.Ignorant arse thread. What is another 10 million per year gonna do for this putrid roster? Also, did Jerry give money back to Dak when he outplayed his rookie contract?
The point is what is the worst GM in the N.F.L. going to do with another 10 million for this roster. Sorry I have to spell it out for you. This post is more ignorant than the OP.
OP was just asking a question. But to make the comment, “what’s 10 million going to do for this roster” is dumb!! Look around the NFL at all the guys who make 1-10 million per year. There are several pro bowlers, and whole lot of above average players making around 10 million.
Now if you’re trying to make the point that one player isn’t going to do anything, whatever. Nobody around here thinks one player is going to bring the team back to the top. You still have to roster build. Sure we all know Dak isn’t taking a pay cut, but it’s still a hypothetical question worth discussing.
The union would go crazy if he took a 10 mil pay cut. Dak set the market, and several guys are about to get paid at, or above that mark because of the deal he got. In two years we will be having the silly argument about “how cheap Dak is compared to what they’re making now” ..
If Dak was gonna give the team a deal, he would’ve done it last spring. He proved his selfishness and lack of team building awareness.
Why would he put money back on the table? He got his and that's what he wanted. He needs decrease to 45-50 a year max. Is that possible for him to redo and take less? Management needs to demand he redo it. Otherwise we are screwed for 4 years.
Lol...it's over Man. Cowboys aren't doing anything in the Playoffs for another 4 years, find a way to cope with the mediocrity. He needs decrease to 45-50 a year max. Is that possible for him to redo and take less? Management needs to demand he redo it. Otherwise we are screwed for 4 years.
Yet he made around $1M/yr his first 4 years and Jerry did nothing but make excuses.I can't imagine that the greedy slipshod would reduce what he's paid for the good of the team. He's shown beyond a doubt that he doesn't care about anything but money.
Dak was an All Pro and MVP runner-up in 2023-24 season (season before new contract). So please tell us how his play declined or was bad that season.Usually players need to take a paycut after they play declined for two years or more.
Dak was bad before he got his new contract, he is bad now. there is no decline. you cant argue as a FO: hey dak you are bad take a paycut.
Dak was injury prone before he signed the contract and missed a lot of games. So you have no leverage also.
and even if you have some good reasons Dak wont take a paycut. Never. Especially not for the better of the team.
Why would he do that? No matter what you or myself, or even what God thinks of him, telling someone to take a paycut is silliness. If you are dumb enough to give it to me, then you can suffer the dumb results. If you want to rid yourself of my contract, all you have to do is draft a QB in the first round, and bench me. Then I ( I being Dak for example) then I will simply ask for a trade, and there you go.He needs decrease to 45-50 a year max. Is that possible for him to redo and take less? Management needs to demand he redo it. Otherwise we are screwed for 4 years.
