Why not? The fact those 3 are in a class of their own, and that their best success has been when they’ve had weapons, all but hammers my point home.

We’re not ranking QBs and comparing them…we’re talking about building a roster and how QBs don’t win Super Bowls when they don’t have weapons in todays NFL.

It’s a very easy concept.
so I guess the year before when the chiefs had tyreek hill and Travis kelce yet fell short kind of puts a dent in this theory right?

Since he made it further this year with significantly less help? Mahomes literally just equaled his greatest team success this year with less talent.

You’re all over the place and using straw man arguments while disregarding we mostly are in agreement

These are the teams that made the divisional round of the playoffs

Cowboys
Giants
Eagles
SF
KC
Cincy
Bills
Jags

The Giants and Cowboys had the worst WR groups of them all and they scored 7 and 12 points respectively.

Mahomes is the best qb in the league but when they traded Tyreek Hill, they didn't say "Pat just take Micole Hardeman and some jags and go win the super bowl because your good enough to elevate anyone". No the went got JuJu, MVS, traded for Kadarius Toney and drafted Sky Moore, all those guys played an important role for them in the playoffs and Super Bowl. What did the Cowboys do? Traded Cooper for a 5th round pick and replaced him with James Washington and Jalen Tolbert while signing Gallup to a big deal coming off ACL surgery and elevating Noah Brown from wr #5 to wr #2.

THIS FRONT OFFICE FAILED THIS TEAM AND ITS FANS ONCE AGAIN!!!!!
Ding ding ding…bingo.

Exactly how many weapons does Dak need to have success? Shouldn't GOOD QBs be able to take guys who may not be studs, and the turn them into something meaningful?

I hope we get Dak weapons to have deep success this season, but these weapons we get need Dak to be on point and not just say the right things. Please give your thoughts

Remember people said Matt Stafford is a much better quarterback than Dak (which I definitely disagree with), yet Stafford didn't win his first playoff game until his 11th, 12th season in the NFL. Dak won his much quicker.

Then those same people gave the excuse about him playing in Detroit.

When it comes to Dak, people say good quarterbacks supposed to "elevate the talent around him" or "turn players who aren't studs into something meaningful". But it's amazing how that same rule didn't apply to Stafford. Hmmm...

Now on a different note, Aaron Rodgers has been touted as maybe the second best quarterback in NFL history, correct? I have no problem with this.... but how can that be if he only managed to lead his team to one Superbowl victory? It was said that a GOOD QB supposed to elevate the talent around him, right?

Well how can someone like Rodgers with the same amount of Superbowl rings as Trent Dilpher, Nick Foles and Mark Rypien be considered one of the greatest? If good quarterbacks supposed elevate the talent around them, then what are the quarterbacks who's considered great supposed to do?

I mean, they made the AFC Championship and lost by 3 points…Not sure I’d call that a failure. So AFC Championship then winning a Super Bowl by keeping an emphasis on weapons.

We haven’t been there in like 25 years…but I guess it’s “straw man logic.” if

You ever notice how nobody ever answers this question. It would crush their agendas if they did.
Whose really saying dak doesn’t need weapons tho? Of course he does. We should go get him more and as many as we can.

Comparing dak though to Elite level mvp guys? Not apples to apples.

Im not joking when I say this. Dallas could trot out Lamb, Cupp and Davante Adams and get bounced in the first round with Dak at QB.

Only if Kellen Moore was still our offensive coordinator. That dummy wouldn't know what to do with them just like he didn't know how to utilize Turpin and Pollard.

Brady won a couple of rings with really only have Gronk as a reliable 'go to' weapon.

Mahomes only had Kelce for a while there.. I remember when they had that stat about no Chief WR had a touch down in something like 20 games in a row? (not sure how long.. but it was a scary stat)

Rodgers got the packers to the playoffs several times with very few weapons.

AND then lets look at this BS myth that Dak doesn't have weapons... he has stood behind a line that has CONSISTENTLY been ranked in the top 5 his whole career. Dak has never, ever had to play without a top 5 ranked line.. let that sink in.

Next up.. Dak has always had (other than that little bit before we got cooper) at least 1 true Pro Bowl level WR target, often he has had 2-3 quality targets.
Dak has always had the support of at least 1 pro bowl level Running Back (and this year Pollard was a gun)

Dak has always been supported by quality TEs.. sure not superstars but not duds either.

So.. Dak this season had 'weapons' in a top 3 Oline, CeeDee at WR (plus gallop and later Hilton), Pollard (and Zeke for short yardage), Semi Decent TE's.. That is not a QB that is being asked to do it all himself. That is more weapons than a lot of other QBs get to work with. Cooper Rush was able to use these 'weapons' to win 4 games ffs.

Please stop with the BS narrative that Dak needs more weapons. He is a bad QB.. end of story.

You brought up Brady, Mahomes and Rodgers. Name me which offensive coordinators that Dak had that can be mentioned in the same breath with the offensive coordinators/play callers/play designers that those other quarterbacks you've previously mentioned had.

I'll gladly wait....

Regardless mahomes just won the superbowl with the least amount of talent he’s ever had. Literally 2 weeks ago. Carried the team to the Super Bowl.

On the larger point - yes, let’s get dak some help. Of course. Never was in question from me in fact I’m screaming to get him more help and as much as we can.

For the future I just don’t think it’s productive to compare dak or really most other qbs to mahomes Brady or Rodgers.

Glad we cleared the air.

Too be successful;
Did Don Meredith need weapons?
Did Craig Morton need weapons?
Did Roger Staubach need weapons?
Did Danny White need weapons?
Did Troy Aikman need weapons?
Did Quincy Carter need weapons?
Did Tony Romo need weapons?
Did Dak Prescott need weapons?

Without naming all the weapons these playoff and Super Bowl QBs had, they all could elevate a team to the playoffs. Few could elevate consistently and fewer with the weapons they got to Super Bowls and Super Bowl wins.

If Dak Prescott has only had 1 losing season in the NFL and that was the year he was injured and missed 11 games 2020. However, he has never had consistent weapons (see Dez Bryant, Witten, Amari Cooper). This is his 2nd year with Cee Dee (injured 1st year) and he needs the following the following weapons to maintain consistency and move to Super Bowl level, they are WR, TE, RB, DT, NB/CB, OT, OG/C (not in order but definite needs).

Teams win and Team lose no matter the QB. A losing team will have a losing QB and a winning team will have a winning QB. Consistency is key to TEAM for a QB to win.

Dak’s had great receiver before and I’m sorry but the receivers aren’t nearly as bad for Dallas as you make them out to be.

Especially considering when there is video evidence of Dak missing wide open guys against San Fran.

So stop blaming wide receivers who are open and aren’t getting the ball.

Mahomes took a bunch of castoffs and won a Super Bowl. Wide receivers nobody wanted.

The difference is he can elevate those around him and our guy can’t while getting paid like he can.

You guys wanted to pay Dak all that money. Well we have to make sacrifices on our roster when we do that.

If we had all the great receivers or whatever we’d likely lose defenders or linemen. Then you’d use that as an excuse.

Chiefs
- 1st ballot HOF TE
- Traded for 1st round WR
- Moore and JuJu (2nd round WRs)
- FA WR MVS

I wish this was the least amount of talent the Cowboys trotted out for a season. Man this year was laughable. I never compared Dak to anyone…I’m comparing the weapons they’ve had and how it’s led to success.

I would take Murray over Goff and Goff has been to a Super Bowl. Heck I would take Murray over Tua and they looked great with all the weapons Miami got. Its all about surrounding your talented QB with weapons. Get a SB level QB and then load up the roster and the teams with the most loaded rosters tend to advance furthest in the playoffs.
Murray is a culture killer. You must not have been paying attention the last year plus. You taking him over Goff would out you in very small company. Did you watch Goff at all this year? He was great and had DETROIT knocking at the playoff door. Goff is a way better player and a much better person.

You used this line before. I shot it down then. No need to go over and over again- it’s redundant and boring. Again you replied to me and my quote -which was a reply to a post on the original page comparing dak to those 3 guys who apparently had won with “less”. My entire point was that that’s unfair to dak.

When I say don’t compare I’m saying in general to the cowboys fan base…it doesn’t have to be you specifically.

It’s unfair to any QB…because no QB has to do it. When the Chiefs lost Hill they acquired talent via FA / Trade and drafted a WR early.

No quarterbacks except Brady and mahomes who just did it but yeah I agree. Once again, good talk

Mahomes out there dragging a HOF TE and a bunch of early draft pick WRs to the finish line with a top OL was fun to watch. I agree.
