But fans fail to look at the reason for what happened. In his first 11 years in Green Bay, McCarthy took his team to the playoffs nine times and the NFC Championship Game four (including the Super Bowl year).

Green Bay dropped off and he was fired after Rodgers broke his collarbone and missed most of the year and then played on a broken leg (and with a sprained knee) the next year.
How you frame a situation can impact how it is perceived. Had the SB happened halfway through his tenure, it would have been looked at differently. But since the SB season, between Dallas and Green Bay he’s had 10 double digit win seasons without returning to the SB. This is approaching the tenth year since his last NFCCG.

It’s up to Jerry (as it was the Packers brass) how many more years of that is okay. Do you like him as your head coach for what he did when Dak was in junior high, or what he’s been doing since? Same thing is already being said about Tomlin, can start being said about Carroll, and Harbaugh is not long off.

Hey, WTH? A day or two ago, you said you were done having conversations with that poster and I told you that you just can't help yourself. Guess who was right.
Im done talking to him in his attack Dak threads. However. I feel like Jimmys "How bout them cowboys" has changed him for the better. I am not one to hold a grudge. Lifes too short.

The broken older Romo was playing better than the younger Romo who was turning the ball over left and right. He was far too mistake prone earlier in his career to win big without a running game and inconsistent OL. Neither the younger or older Romo would have a lot of success with no running and OL that’s allowing constant pressure. It would have led to injuries and turnovers for the younger and older Romo. Romo never played as well as Dak has this season.
Tony Romo had a passer rating of 113.2 with 3,705 yards, 34 touchdowns and 9 interceptions in 15 games in 2014. He completed 69.9 percent of his passes.

Dak has a passer rating of 104.2 with 4,237, 32 touchdowns and 8 interceptions in 16 games. He has completed 68.4 percent of his passes.
Care to move those goalposts?

I'm one of the most truthful posters on this site. You don't have to ask anyone you can ask me. I've blamed Dak for every lost in the playoff he's had. Unlike y'all with Romo. Romo throws a pick y'all say "Oh he stepped on someones foot". Y'all come up with an excuse for every loss he has. I will tell you straight up a big reason we lost last year was because of Dak.

This is what y'all don't understand. You can talk about Romo or Dak needing this talent or not having this talent. At the end of the day you won't win in the playoffs unless your quarterback steps up. You can't get away with a pedestrian game from your quarterback. You can't hide your quarterback. Romo never played above his head in the playoffs and that's why he sits here with no rings and not many big game wins. In order for the Cowboys to win a SB this year Dak is going to have to play at a top level against the 49ers. There's no way around it no matter how good or bad the defense plays it will come down to Dak.
Or lost in the lights

I always find it funny that McCarthy doesn't get treated like a Super Bowl coach because there's the caveat that he had Aaron Rodgers at quarterback. If we go by that logic, Jimmy Johnson should not be given credit for Dallas' Super Bowls because he had Troy Aikman at quarterback. Same with Tom Landry ... didn't win a single Super Bowl without Roger Staubach at quarterback.
Nobody gives him issues because he has Aaron Rodgers, they give him a hard time because he had Rodgers and only won one Superbowl

Give me Dak. We have all seen the oh no Romo. Romo had some good teams and we ain't go far with him.
As of right now its kind of a toss up but give me Dak.

I believe Dak and Romo are both 2-4 in the playoffs.

Dak has a chance to pass Romo this year.

I hope he does, I'm a Cowboy fan, not a lover of one player just because.

Lol Romo 46-31 at home for a winning percentage of .597
Away he had record of 46-33 for a winning percentage of .582

Dak is 43-15 with a winning percentage of .741 at home
Away his is 29-26 for .527
Romo's away record for playoffs is 0-3, Dak is 1-2
At least we had a home field advantage with Dak, that people have been complaining about not having for years
Still using team stats when discussing a QBs performance. Dak lost a game in Philly this year when he threw for 374 yrds and 3 TDs

Funny how some keep mentioning Romo as if he led the team to countless playoff wins and championships. He had plenty of good teams over his career but couldn’t stop turning the ball over in huge games. It certainly wasn’t all his fault the Cowboys kept coming up short, just like it hasn’t been all Dak’s fault. Neither QB had a complete enough team to get it done. The Cowboys still don’t have a complete enough team to get it done regardless who they have at QB. The holes the team had and has always catch up with them in January.

Just goes to show it's not easy to win Super Bowls. Indianapolis won one with Peyton Manning.

Im gonna say something that not a lot of people talk about and will probably ruffle some feathers, but I'm really out chea, so here it goes. Dak has a good speaking voice and people seem to gravitate towards him, I think he can be a successful commentator after his career, and would be hilarious if he took Romo's job at CBS lol

Agreed. However. My issue is the hero ball. Everyone likes to talk about the Dez catch. If Romo hits Beasely instead of throwing it to Dez we likely win that game.
Well to be fair the defense had to take field again with time on clock

He for sure knows how to lead and get the best out of his teammates. Everyone keeps talking about Laurent Robinson to prove he was "him".
