Does it really matter at this point? Romo retired like 100 years ago now. They each have qualitites that are different from each other. Dak has a chance to join the QB lore in Dallas, all he has to do is win. Romo had his chance and didn't get it done.
yeah these type questions are silly, different teams, players, coaches etc.
And you cant say who is better, it is just all opinions.

Ask again when Dak's career is over. Romo improved every year leading up to his retirement. By the end, he was talked about among the elites of the league. Dak is following a similar career trajectory. I truly think injuries robbed Tony of some of his best years. I also thought we had a better shot with Romo in 2016.

2024 Dak is a damn good player and an elite QB. The year he's having rivals anything Tony did, and he will continue to improve and develop his craft. I loved Tony Romo. Him and Ware are the only jerseys left in my closet. I hated seeing him lose his starting job, and I hated seeing his career end the way it did. That said, Dak is at least his equal, and is still improving 8 years into his career. I don't this we've seen his peak.

All Dak has to do is win one playoff game to have more playoff wins and appearances than Romo, and if he makes it the Championship game, which looks like a real possibility if we keep the 2nd seed, then I don't see how anyone can say Romo was better. Y'all seriously overrate Romo. As of right now, I think they're pretty much the same QB but Dak has time to pass him
Not a good argument because the pro Romo crowd always argues that Romo had no team around him when he actually played with more HOF players in their prime.

Romo had more physical talent. He also turned the ball over more.
Dak is physically stronger, is a better leader, and has worked hard to get more out of his talent than Romo did.

In my opinion, Dak has benefited from better coaching this year than either QB had under Garrett and Moore.

Again, what metric are you using? The fact that you can't name anything says a lot
There's no such thing as a football metric to measure these things. That's the whole point.

Is a minute a long time? What if your head is underwater?

Everything is relative in football.

Jason Garrett is the culprit for Romo not having any post season success.

Lol this is the dumbest take ever. Stats are one of the biggest metrics to use when evaluating a player, but just because they don't go in your favor, you ignore them. So by your logic Ryan Leaf was a better QB than Romo, sure he didn't have the stats, but all you had to do was see that Leaf was more talented

According to @erod , stats are for nerds and don't go into what makes a player great.
So Mahomes, Brady, P. Manning, etc. aren't HOFers because they have championships or because they consistently put up some of the best seasons when it comes to Qbs. It's because well they just looked good throwing a football I guess, because there's no other way to evaluate them.

Broccoli or green beans?

Either would be left over on the plate if the steak was too big.

By steak, I mean someone like Roger Staubach or Troy Aikman.

Until Dak starts on a winning Super Bowl team, he is grouped with Romo among the "others" in the 3rd tier of very good quarterbacks that didn't win anything.

1st tier:

Roger Staubach
Troy Aikman

2nd tier

Don Meredith
Danny White
Craig Morton

3rd tier

Eddie Lebaron
Tony Romo
Dak Prescott

No tier:

Chad Hutchinson
Steve Pelluer
Quincy Carter
Gary Hogeboom

Used merchandise with previous "wear and tear" tier

Andy Dalton
Matt Cassel
Drew Bledsoe
Vinnie Testaverde

Both QBs have strengths and weaknesses but Romo is the better QB by virtue of his ability to read and beat the coverages,,, no deer in the headlights moments! Mentally and emotionally he's got the edge. If Dak can ever get past that then he wins, he's already got the edge physically and charismatically.
Romo had no deer in the headlights moments? looool

Come on, bro. No need to lie. Romo had plenty of deer in the headlights moments.

There are more, but there is no need to post them. Both Dak and Romo have had that deer-in-the-headlights moments on the field or sideline during GameDays.

I think you guys are "misremembering" Romo. Romo's issues were game management, interceptions and being clutch early on. Once he learned to throw the ball away and systematically run the offense, his body broke down. He HIMSELF said that he began to "figure it out" - his throwing motion and base platform - in 2012. That's a full 8 years into the NFL. And sure enough, after that year he played more consistent football. Those 8-8 COLLAPSES at the end of the year were pure Romo. Now, if you want to say the Romo we got in 2014 was always him...then MAYBE...but given how Dak has played this year and his leadership ability...I'll take Dak.

Romo used to get us EMBARRASSED IN THE NFC EAST. That's never been true of Dak.

So yeah, I want Dak replaced yesterday but...I'll always have a special place in my heart for ridding the team of that feckless, introspective, goofy QB who spent more time in one game sulking on the sideline that Dak has his entire career. Not even close for me.

Man.....I recently was bored and was watching old cowboy games. Romo wasn't what yall seem to remember. Think yall focus too much on 2014 Romo (11 years of experience) and not the younger version. The one who let the nfc east run a train on us 3 consecutive week 17s. Dak would never lol
There are a lot of Bubbas here with revisionist history when it comes to Romo.
