I don't think they will. I think they will only play him if we're eliminated or Rush sucks.

Certainly, what we've seen of Lance isn't encouraging, but I'd like to give him every opportunity to prove himself. We paid a fourth-round pick for him, so we should give him what shots we can. Again, though, I don't see it happening until we're mathematically eliminated. Rush stinking is the only hope of it happening before then (if Dak stays out).
If we lose on Sunday we won’t be mathematically/officially eliminated but we’ll be realistically done. No way are we rebounding from 4 games down in our division with 8 games left with our remaining schedule. Not to mention a loss to Philly would be our 5th conference loss, so we can forget about a wildcard possibly. If Rush were to play real good they’ll likely stay with him even if we lose but if he doesn’t play well enough I think there’s a good chance Lance gets the start against the Texans. The Joneses don’t want that 4th round pick they used on Lance to be a wasted pick, which it’s looking like it is. This would be their best opportunity to get him on the field and possibly increase his trade value. If he were to play well, which isn’t very likely with this crappy team, they could trade him during the offseason and add another pick.

I can't rejoice over a person's injury. Just ... can't ... do ... it.
Especially since he already got basically a fully guaranteed contract so it's not like you can benefit long term from the injury/poor season.

Now they can put in a few packages for lance since he is qb 2. Qb runs with lance will get TDs. I bet rush will have more TDs than Dak soon

So with Dak out, do the Boys have a chance with Cooper? I think maybe a few less turnovers at a minimum.

I will never cheer for someone’s injury but this is the best possible outcome. It allows us to tank in good conscience and get a top 5 pick. This can be a 2015 type scenario where we have a top 5 pick with a top 10-15 roster
Why do I feel like this is gonna backfire on this team? Oh yeah because it’s the Cowboys lol.

Unfortunately, this is a terrible year to try to tank/lose games for draft slots. Currently there's 9 teams right now that have only 2 wins which is insane
I don't think this team has to try to tank/lose games. That's just going to happen no matter what but there IS indeed a lot of sorry football this year.

Maybe you do not understand what you are saying
You hate the players but love the team. That doesnt make any sense. You cant root for the team and root against the players on the team.

Either you need to find a new team or figure out what a being a fan is
I’ve read all of your replies and I think you’re the one who is struggling with what being a fan is.

Lance will be a free agent, there is no trading him. Just let him start and see if he is worth #2 money in 2025.
