Besides last year, Dak has always been good protecting the football. Had a game ending pick last week, but who thought we were winning that game anyway? The entire team screwed the pooch.

Not all picks are the QBs fault, similar to Mac Jones pick 6, his WR was absolutely awful. That wasn't on him.
That interception was 99% Mac Jones’s fault. He waited way too long to throw the ball all the way across the field. Bland was waiting to jump that throw! Absolutely terrible throw by Mac Jones. This throw was one of the reasons Belicheat benched him.

and extrapolated as if it were a trend instead of an outlier.
By some yes. But that's not what the person said I replied to. Probably what he meant, I guess.

And again....why bash the GENUINELY concerned? For it to be an "outlier" you need the post data which we are still now gathering. Looks very promising...superb even.

He’s been sacked six times. That’s fifth best in the NFL.

He’s also third best in the league at avoiding turnover worthy throws. There’s another thread with those stats.

Some of you guys just make stuff up.
appreciate you providing this. Since I watch all Cowboys games, and only random other games, my bias had me thinking he was taking more sacks than he apparently is.

you low-IQ fake asp fan, I bet you didn't even play football. this what you mean? Crap like seems like it would be against the rules?
Yes...that.

and the comment "But y’all were worried about training camp stats" in the OP. It's going on in the "dak best in the league" thread and others too.

you only need more data to determine if a trend is forming, and that's fine. An outlier exists in the currently collected data. As far as bashing, probably because the majority of folks harping on it were doing so with an agenda and being intellectually dishonest. Obviously that's not everyone, but it does get tiring trying to separate the two. *shrug*

Yes, it's early but Dak's off to a good start in keeping his promise to clean up the 2022 turnover issues.

Hard to throw INTs when you're throwing it 5 to 7 yards in the air.

Most of his passes are long handoffs.

Not saying thatsa bad thing though. Not saying it's good either. Actually I'm not saying anything about this

Daks air yards are going to go up, as well as his turnovers will go up, both are unsustainably low. You just hope that one of those goes up significantly more than the other.

I think as the season goes on you start to see some shots being taken to Cooks down the field. I also wouldnt be surprised to see some Terry Glenn type double moves by Gallup in the near future. The guy has spent the last two weeks reviving his career with slant routes, but he runs vertically very well.

Through four weeks Dak has had two solid games, one clunker, and one nearly flawless game, which is pretty on par for his career and outside of the elite QBs that's what most good QBs give you. Let's see how he does the rest of the season.

Reality is though MM talked all year about having an offense that compliments the defense, now we are seeing that. Dak is being asked to move the chains, eat some clock, and end possessions in kicks. I know we would all like a few more of those to be in extra points, but overall Dak is doing exactly what hes been asked to do. Plus he seems to be at his best when he can play off the run game which is exactly what happened against New England. I truly think less is more when it comes to Dak, and I don't mean that as a knock. I think that is the recipe for success for most QBs the past few years as we see defenses adapting to stop the continuous air attacks that have taken place over the last decade plus.

They are in position to contend and win. Their offense should be very good when it is all said and done. I'm not worried. I'm actually very excited.
I hope you are right! It has been a long time coming!

You remember in school when there was the kid who talked **** to everyone because his mommy and daddy had more money and the whole class secretly didn't like the kid at all. I'm the sick of listening to that kid, kid.

I've been on sports forums for well over 20 years and have never once ignored or banned a poster but the one I finally ignored doesn't deserve my or any fans here attention on any post...so the fact I can still see responses to his dog crap post is still not good enough for me.

You know it's bad when 90% of Cowboy fans on this board probably know exactly who I'm talking about.
"Ignore" is your friend. It makes reading the forum much more enjoyable.

You can see it coming.
I like it, but I have learned over the years not get to overconfident with the non Jiminy Johnson coached Cowboy football teams.(I know, its been that long) I always had confidence when Jimmy Johnson was on our sideline, today not so much. Lets hope these guys can put everything together this year.

Last season the mantra coming from management, coaches, and the QB was 'play more aggressively'.

This year the plan has been to simplify and ask the QB to play a more short passing, ball control style. The defense has provided the luxury of playing with a lead, scoring points and providing turnovers.

In the one game the defense did not provide points or turnovers and the offense needed to capitalize on their opportunities, they spit the bit culminating in a terrible turnover in the redzone.

Tldr: it's way to early to be gloating about this stat.

I wonder if there was any of that context missing from this assessment?
