Dak and his Agent would laugh there *** off.

Reality is Dak and his Agent will be making Dallas an offer. They will be drawing up the contract for GM Jeruh and side kick Stephen to sign.
They wouldnt be laughing week 6 when dak is on the bench with no ext.

Was that after his pick or his 3 fumbles?
Did he, or did he not orchestrate those two play-off comeback wins? The whole point is that in play-off runs, at some point, your QB has to stand up and take the team on his shoulders......Yes sometimes you win, sometimes you lose or sometimes, like Dak, you physically look as if you've capitulated.

I just dont get, how, if he hasnt done it all ready (with a moderate CAP HIT) giving him more of a CAP% improves the rest of the roster to help him from trailing in games.

Explain how he can be “washed” when he led the league in TD passes, passed for over 4500 yards, completed a career high 69.5 percent and had a career high 105.9 passer rating AND finished second in the MVP voting? You have no business questioning anyone’s recognition skills when it’s obvious he had a terrific regular season but had a bad playoff game with the rest of the team. Those of you who act like he sucks because of his lack of playoff success don’t know football.
Since you love stats...32nd ranked pass defense schedule, as in, he faced the absolute worst pass defenses in the entire league this year. It's all a coincidence though, he's really just so good that he turned them all into bad defenses :muttley:

Matt Stafford was 0-3 in the playoffs in Detroit. Many said he couldn’t win big games. He was put on a great team and he immediately won a championship. I believe if the team around Dak steps up especially the defense, we have a great shot.
Great, let's trade Dak to the Niners for Purdy, he deserves his Matt Stafford moment. I fully support this opportunity for him. :lmao:

What in the flying...

Dak has been surronded by endless talent. He's had a top tier OL majority of his career or range in the top 10, multiple 1k recievers, premier running game, vastly improved defenses bar that stupid run stopping game. Some of these he's had all in the same year or a combo of stuff. Majority of quarterbacks would kill to have this much talent around them.

Everyone with two working brain cells knew Strafford was better then Dak. Can't compare the situations at all.

Bar the bucs game Dak has done absolutely nothing in the playoffs until it was to late. Even comparing him to Romo in the post season as they have similar records is laughable and just shows who knows nothing about football besides fave value stats.

Completely different argument can be had if Dak has played average / good in the playoffs and we still lost. Then we could look at surrounding talent. But not when your QB has been a MASSIVE problem himself.

No idea how a team could go out and break the bank on someone who after 8 seasons has shown little in the postseason but hey if you're happy with 12 win seasons and stats good for you. Jerry has you sucked up into the loser country club mentality

End rant....fun to debate like this but we all know the cowboys will win nothing as long as Jerry is still in charge. That's the true problem

There absolutely should be a positional proportional max that a team is allowed to spend per position, but that gets really tricky.
The salary cap going up to around 245 million this year only means that agents that have lined their clients up perfectly with short term and NTC get to cash in again.
Well assign a percentage to each position and as the cap goes up the money is spread out evenly. Look. We just solved the issue. What else can we solve today.

Jerry & Stephen won't amend their ways until they're no longer living and the rest of the family relieves them. Just be entertained and expect little.

Too bad you Romolovers complained to YouTube and had them delete the 5+ videos of Romo's chokeful moments throughout his career. Those videos would have shut you up once and for all.
"Romo was choker and here's youtube to prove it"?

Really? That is all you have? Dude...come on! You had such a wonderful opportunity. What a waste.

Well Marino was brought up as some bench mark. He was great, but apparently not better than Trent Dilpher, Nick Foles and Brad Johnson. They won rings and Marino didnt.

I'm just using the "success" measuring stick that others here apply to what a successful quarterback is supposed to be.
I brought it up, but you may have missed the point. There was no "benchmark" involved.

We've got a lot of "stop being so mean to Dak" people. But it's not just Dak....it's how it works. Dak has played poorly enough to earn it. Dan Marino was mentioned because he generally played well enough, and even he has The Tag,

It's how it works, and I am sure if a dozen forum members quit their crusade against a natural normal way of things it would actually be a NICER place around here.

Dak over Dallas fans are basically Cowboys players that completely ingrain themselves in the country club culture in fan form.

Winning is secondary to stats and fame.

OK so we are going to settle on FA and 4th rounders forever to lead us to another championship?

History proves the chances of that happening are next to none.

We've tried that for 19 straight years and appear to be heading in that direction for a few more.
The difference between Dak and the greats not winning, is the greats actually kept horrible franchises relevant, as they were drafted in the first time to turn a franchise around. Dak, on the other hand, was a 4th round pick and had a team that was 5-1 with Cooper Rush, a guy who in reality is a practice squad QB and can’t toss over 30 yards…

When Dak loses, it’s the number 1 ranked defense in scoring and TOs sucking at fault. When Dallas beats up on horrible defenses, suddenly it’s the “elite” QB, not the garbage opposing defense that is at fault….

The Cowboys win games by a large margin they are SUPPOSE to win. They don’t “play down” to good teams, they are like the bully that goes for the skinny, nerd until his big brother finds out and comes to give the bully stat-padder a beat down.

Dak’s mentality was seen when playing in the 4th against the Packers when there is no way he should have been playing if he was “the franchise QB”. Rush could have gotten more experience and they could have show-cases him more if they planned on dumping him.

This year has all the signs of a complete disaster.

1. 1st place schedule
2. AFC north
3. Drama all over the locker room
4. Lame duck HC
5. Pressure to preform after the playoff embarrassment.
6. Never a repeat division champ.
7. Dak’s extension causing even more friction.
8. Jerry being Jerry and selling false hope

8-9 sounds like the ceiling.

When’s the last time the Cowboys won some games they weren’t supposed to win?
