Let's get the team to do that too. If Micah Parsons wants his payday let's have him show up in the playoffs too.

Also Dak won't be the highest paid QB for long either. C.J. Stroud and Brock Purdy, for starters, are also very happy today with Dak's deal.
Why should Micah have to show up in the playoffs to get his payday?

Did Dak do that?

Goodbye Tyler Smith

So long Jake Ferguson

See ya DaRon Bland

In related news, The Cowboys traded their 2025 #1 pick to the Texans for their 2025-2030 7th round picks citing salary cap restraints.
The Cowboys can afford all of those guys by restructuring both Dak and Lamb's contracts. This is why there was so much outrage that they didn't get both done months ago.

Kicking the can down the road can be done indefinitely so long as you are sure those players aren't leaving. Dak and Lamb aren't. The cap situation is actually better now.

Imagine letting Dak walk and still paying him $40 million in dead money next year. That makes even less sense.

5 more years of knowing the next choke job is coming, save yourself some money as there’s no need to worry about SB tickets, it will be great entertainment watching him failing miserably when crunch time comes. Don’t worry his number one priority is going to the SB, he just doesn’t mean the Cowboys.

And Jerry actually trolled fans by saying "you could easily say that if you haven't seen it by now, you aren't going to". Then...highest paid player...only Jerry Jones, man.
Only our fanbase were dumb enough to believe it well some of it

Stop blaming Dak for not being able to resign future FAs, it's not his fault Jerry and Stephen don't know how the cap works.

If Howie Roseman was our GM we would have Dak, Micah, Lamb, Fergy, Tyler, & Bland locked up to long term deals while adding a couple star players and still having cap left to add more if a trade became available for one.

The cap means nothing to teams who know how to manage it.

Not for anything but the Dallas reporters need to be quite ruthless if and when this team struggles. Dak cannot be allowed to do the old soft shoe tap dance. The heat needs to be brung bigtime if this team falters one little bit.

They could win this year. Stay tuned.
It’s a team game. The cap will start jumping by leaps and bounds and we haven’t heard the contract details. I doubt that 240 is all guarenteed. And likely don’t have another no trade clause in it. We have a QB that is great in regular season and has showed he can win a playoff game.

What some forget is from week to week in regular season you don’t consistently play teams that have the same talent or better than yours. Playoff time rolls around all teams are more evenly matched. Its takes a whole team including the staff to win.

That's exactly my point. Dak gets no excuses while every other player does. If you can't see the hypocrisy there I can't really say anything else.

Eh, pretty sure he was talking about this fan base inability to understand QB play and football in general.
Or simply put… he was referring to a lack of ability on Dak’s end!

Since he doesn't understand the former, I'll go with the latter.

I would assume they did. It’s not in Todd France’s benefit to accept a worse-worded deal than what was previous. This will at least have all the bells and whistles of the last one
He's older now though, so I think it would foolish to give him or any quarterback his age a no-trade clause.
