The one thing we can all agree on, Dak exceeded expectations.....and that's about it, so far.
I agree.

He could lay an egg next week for all we know. All games are self contained.

Sometimes I feel like I'm a kindergarten teacher.

Let's say you're new to the game. If you just be patient you'll immediately be smarter than 90% of all fans. Who re-write their manifesto week to week depending on what's going on.

Well it appears you don't follow your own lesson plan. Trading multiple drafts to move up for Wentz is not patience its desperation. Declaring Dak a career back up at best and repeatedly voicing your disgust with how the team handled the back up position is nothing near patient. It appears patience is only necessary if it looks like you may be wrong.

I think Dak Prescott is dangerously close to being the Carson Wentz of the 2016 draft

There, I said it

Goff looked really stiff to me, and supposedly has not exactly wowed anyone so far in camp. Both Goff and Wentz looked like community college QBs in their debuts, but at least Wentz looked (if not played) like someone you could see being an NFL QB.
Which is surprising to me because his pocket awareness/agility in the pocket is what sold me on him.

I like where we are sitting right now with Dak...

Lynch looks special though...

Lynch did look really good. A couple of his passes had crazy zip.

It's one game. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I mean, Dak could go 2-12 with a pick next week. It wouldn't mean he's not the future.

You nailed it, I am personally thrilled with Dak and his performance but also realize it is the first preseason game, playing against a base level vanilla defense.

I knew Dak had the intangibles by looking at his game tape and with respect to his senior bowl performance.

However, questions were rightfully there during the draft process precisely because of the lack of playing under center, footwork issues and mechanics amongst other things.

If Dak can prove the draft pundits wrong we will all benefit as Cowboys fans and hopefully we have at least the answer at back up QB and at best our heir apparent to Romo.

Time will tell and I certainly look forward to seeing more of Dak with our offense but also realize it is early and the "anointing" oil needs to be kept in the jar for now.

I think its funny that the Wentz Zealots preach patience, but can you imagine if Wentz had had the kinda first game Dak did? they would have probably entered a whole new realm of fanboyism over Wentz, if thats even possible......

It would be completely unbearable.

There's no telling how the folks who were gushing over his subpar performance would've reacted had he done what Dak did.

And I know it's only one preseason game, but the kid literally played as well as he could, given the circumstances. Truly maximized his opportunity. Can't wait to see more.

For those interested, here are Dak's highlights:

And here are Lynch's highlights:

Both had really good games. To me, Lynch's throws seem to have better velocity, whereas Dak had better accuracy.

Edit: Sorry, you have to go to Youtube to watch either video.

Are you kidding?

Based on a single solitary pre-season game you are ready to make proclamations?
Based on 8 games last year, coming off an injury for North Dakota State and losing the Senior Bowl many made proclamations of the next great QB since Andrew Luck, only better....lmao

I just want him to play solid vs the Dolphins. I have a lot of people down here in Miami telling me he only played well because the Rams suck. And Miami has a decent D so if he plays well next week then we might have something here.

I wanted him badly. It looks like he will be one of the best in the league in a couple of years.

He is so athletic with that size and arm. If he figures out the playbook..look out

we may need to slow down...Dak was impressive, but let's see what happens when teams get tape on him and they aren't so vanilla on defense, etc... It's promising, but there are lots of things I'm sure he needs to work on.

All that aside...I'm hopeful he keeps his head on straight and keeps doing the right things. Very good start...very very good start.

Seriously. I clearly remember reading how Wentz was so good despite his numbers.

If Wentz's performance was considered good, then Dak must be considered absolutely amazing.

That's a fair point. I thought Wentz looked pretty good despite his numbers and I thought Dak looked phenomenal with his numbers. If it ever translates, it will provide some great NFC East battles in the future.

Meanwhile the Giants have Ryan....never mind.

He reminded more of Rotjlhlisberger then Wentz did
