I hope you're right.

No Dez means tighter coverage everywhere else. Dak might force some throws this game = turnovers.

Hyde going for 100+ is a given. The entire defense is going to be gassed if they have to play 70 plays. We don't have the depth for that.

Dez is hardly double covered anymore.

I think he is emphasizing team over individuals and saying that the offense is going to go out there and compete with or without Dez and he's going to go out there and execute the game plan and go through his reads and make the correct decision based on who is open.

You're likely correct Hoov...

Another angle of looking at Dak's quotes... It should really give a lot of the other guys confidence to step up. As mentioned previously, he elevates all the players on the team like a true leader should. This is an opportunity for some other guys to step up, TWill, Beas, Brice, etc...

I want a healthy Dez, but I'd be extremely surprised if Dez sidelined adversely impacts the offense at all.

I have had just about enough of comments like this. Irvin played in a far different era than Dez. Coaching has changed dramatically scheme wise. Dez didnt get shut down in game 2 because why? he was MOVED around the field. Good coaching staffs put their guys in positions to succeed. Ask AB, or OBJ, or just about any WR in the top 5. Irvin was special, so is Dez, the difference is the GAME itself has changed. Stop comparing a guy that played 20 years ago plus to a guy that is playing in todays NFL. Id love to see Irvin in his prime up against the schemes, safeties, and corners that Dez deals with. Thats like comparing Tom Landry to Bill belichek. Both pioneers, but in different Eras.

Are you seriously saying that Irvin would get shut down against the Ds of today? Yes, coaching has alot to do with Dez, but I've seen him drop passes this year that rookies are making. People seriously over-estimate Dez. Football is football.....

I dont know if any receiver is double covered anymore now that Megatron retired. Still defenses will shift their coverage with a safety or linebacker in Dez's direction.

Also Dez always gets the attention of the other team's best corner. Now T-Rex or Beasley will have to deal with him.

That's what the skins were doing. Shifting coverages toward Dez

No, what im saying is we dont know, because its different football now than it was in the 90s, thats all. Would patrick peterson or richard sherman shut down Irvin? I dont know, its hard to assume he would have the same success he had now that he did then. If he was training the way they used to and under Garrett as opposed to Jimmy

Regarding Dez injury.

"I don't really pay attention to who I'm throwing to," said Prescott, who has connected with Bryant 11 times for 150 yards and a touchdown this season. "I just go through my reads, whoever's open gets the ball. So I mean hope gets well, is well really, really soon, but it doesn't really affect this offense."

Dak will still get it done this weekend.
Here's the interview...

This is clearly Prescotts team. He looks like a real QB that knows how to read a defense and make a decision. Finally, after more than 10 years in the dark . A light to show us the way ahead. Hallelujah its long overdue.

I like the confidence but he's wrong that it won't affect the offense. It might not affect what he does it his reads but overall it affect the offense

It's actually a stupid quote. He doesn't pay attention to who he's throwing to. Maybe that's why he's overthrown Cole Beasley so many times this year or why Bryant was invisible in the opener. You can not treat him like every other receiver. He's open when he's not open. You have to know that as the quarterback and you have to feed your best weapon. Just like you have to know if your WR is a midget. Whether he has track speed. To just treat them all the same is foolish. I've never heard a QB say that.

Saying it won't affect the offense is just ridiculous. It'll affect the offense because it'll affect the way defenses defend you.
Smh. Not paying attention to who is getting the ball. Who is getting the receptions #s. I hope you were being sarcastic. I don't agree with most anything you say but I know you're smarter enough to know he knows who he's throwing to.

This is ridiculously off. You want to make an argument have at it. This is you making it up.
lol. I like you personally. But, you must be very, very young!! Poor Dez is now heading into the declining returns part of his "career". It is just a short matter of time before he is completely irrelevant...not that he was ever particulary important. Just a highlight reel phenomenon that ,in fact, produced very little.

Wow. This dude is looking like a once-in-a-lifetime pick. His demeanor is absolutely amazing. But Dez is a Top 10 player at his position. Maybe the offense doesn't use him as such but he is a weapon. He should show him that respect and I didn't see the respect in the quote. He's got to learn to compliment his teammates or he could run the risk of not being viewed as a team guy.
But if you make it come across that you can't win without Dez, it is disrespectful to the rest of the team.
