Out of curiosity. Why is < or > 200 yards passing, anymore of a valid stat, than QB rating?
It isn't. In fact, yards have nowhere near the correlation to wins that passer rating has.
In 2017, teams averaged 224 passing yards per game, with a passer rating of 85.
< 224 yards passing

< 85 passer rating
W 68 L 184 .270
224+ yards passing
W 141 L 111 .560
85+ passer rating
W 187 L 72 .722
A team that has a below-average
passer rating in every game most likely finishes the season with 4-5 wins, while the most likely outcome for a team whose passer rating is average or better in every game is an 11-12 win season.
Conversely, a team that throws for above average
yardage in every game will go 9-7, while a team that throws for below average yardage in every game will go 7-9.
