I'm comparing him to Derek Carr who I think is in the same range as Dak talentwise he was benched and is going to be gone after this season, this is Carr's 9th season. Dak in his 7th season threw the same amount of INTs as Carr this season in 5 less games. I'm not saying get rid of Dak now but if he doesn't win this playoffs or the next two it's time to move on. He'll be 30 next summer no team really keeps a QB for 15-20 years that doesn't win it just doesn't happen. At some point you have to show you can win a Super Bowl, that is the entire point of the game not regular season wins or TDs.
You won’t convince the Daksters. You also are kinda ignoring the front office. The front office has made
it evident that they value playoff appearances in the same way as other franchises value Super Bowls. The current fan base seems to agree. Making the playoffs equates to season success. Roughly half the teams in the league qualify for the playoffs now.
It’s pretty likely that the Cowboys extend Dak this offseason, even if they do not succeed in the playoffs. Many of the fans here feel that Dak has already proven himself as a championship level QB (since there is such a thing as Trent Dilfer).
I disagree with the standards that are set by many of the Cowboys’ fans on this website. If they are relatively pleased by zero postseason success, but good regular season success and will not basically shut the TV off and stop following the Cowboys then this will likely be the result (probably for our lifetimes).
There has never been a better chance of the Cowboys getting to the NFCCG than this season in the past 27 years. Let’s hope they can break through that and the SB too.
