Dak vs Deshaun Watson

you win championships by passing better

Watson is a significantly better passer. Just look at the numbers posted by Aerolithe in the thread. And this is despite Dak having a way way better OL and receiving core and RB
Also, the only reason their career numbers are even comparable is because Dak has 16 more games worth of stats then Watson.

You add 16 more games worth of stats to Watson to put him and Dak on a level playing field games played wise and this wouldn't even be a debate.

It's so hard to compare players when they don't have the same support system. Watson didn't have the luxury of stepping into the NFL with a complete and ready to go offense like Dak was lucky to have. Watson has done his work the hard way. Trying to carry a team with a terrible offensive line. Had the QBs been on opposite teams Dak would not have fooled so many people and Watson would of looked even better. The bottom line Watsons better arm and accuracy is going to give you a better chance in the playoffs against the better teams.

Let's not forget that the best season Watson has ever gotten out of a RB was Carlos Hyde rushing for 1,070, good for 13th in the NFL that year.

Meanwhile, Dak has never lead the team to the playoffs without his RB winning the rushing title that year.

Really? Their stats are remarkably close. Watson is very overrated. Hasn’t won a thing.
The only reason their stats are "remarkably close" is because Dak has played 16 more games than Watson.

That fact alone should tell you who is the better QB. Dak with 16 more games worth of stats should have numbers that blow Watsons out of the water. The fact that the numbers are still "remarkable close" speaks volumes.

Do you believe Dak is overrated because he has never won a thing either? I'm going to guess no....

Dak is not talked about in hushed tones in any NFL circle. Many still debate he is top 15. Watson is always a top 5 QB. Like OBrien or not but he knows QBs and how to run a NFL
Offense. Watson learned from a good coach. Dak has had to deal with the garbage coaching and dysfunction in Dallas. Dak also plays with a top paid RB so Dallas features the run game more. I think the Dak debate will end this season. He will prove he is a top QB this year. If anything I think Dak is underrated.

Very unpopular opinion here, but Garrett is all those things you said about O’Brien. He is Mr. 8-8, but that means he did some good things and some bad things, but only the bad things are ever talked about here.

Garrett was given an Undrafted free agent and a 4th round backup as his quarterbacks, and he proceeded to coach over some of the greatest offenses in Cowboys history.

So your point about O’Brien also works for Garrett. “Like Garrett or not but he knows QBs and how to run an NFL offense.”

Could it be that a 4-12 team was always so far behind in games that he accumulated seasonal stats playing prevent defenses in the 4th...trying desperately to come back and attacking down field...competing passes against prevent defenses.

I would like to compare first half and first quarter stats as a better measure and compare to 4th quarter

Right, but when Dak does this the go-to lament is “Buh, these aren’t garbage time staaaaaats!!!!”

OBrien is a much better coach than Garrett. Please.

Way off topic from OP but found this and thought what a great way to start defunding the PIA agents that want to run the league these days...
Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson is negotiating a contract extension with his mother representing him as his business manager.

such as ? or is it you are just making things up as you go along like your buddy...your own rules...
It is an opinion , backed by stats and a CCG appearance by Watson . I know you think Dak is more talented but I don’t think you have the fact to prove it either .

all the stats out there say Dak is better in some areas. Watson in others and all the stats are very close..... he didn't play in CCG (as your buddy says, you just lied LOL), he played in the divisional round and lost.
so perhaps your made up facts/rules help you to form your opinion. your choice

This is a baseless discussion. Watson before all this misconduct information came out was a true franchise guy, full stop, end of discussion.

and so was Dak, in fact he got franchised and got handed a contract very similar to Watson.... so what part is Watson a franchise guy and Dak is not? full stop. end of discussion.

with that said, given recent rape allegations by 31 women, independently.....I think character is important.....

you actually are talking up Garrett!? really....

garrett has a lot of good resources...regardless of what rounds they were drafted. Kurt Warner was literally bagging groceries and two years later he won the superbowl and is in HOF now....it doesn't matter where the players are drafted and how they get in the NFL, once you know their talent, its your job to maximize... Garrett's scheme's were ok, not much different than rest of NFL, but he never adjusted to today's NFL and his problem was game day management. he had a tendency to grab defeat from jaws of victory way too often. his play calling on game days left a lot to be desired. I give him credit though, he managed Jerry fairly well.
