lol this isnt a CSI TV show.
Real CSI teams and detectives are not as good as what you see on those tv shows.
It took them 3 weeks or more to id his necklace, and then they ANNOUNCE they want to talk to him, which would allow him to lawyer up and get rid of any evidence.
By making this public, they just made their job much harder.

they might eventually catch the shooter, and figure out who was in the car, but even better odds on that they never solve the crime.

I'm not saying it'll be quick at all. What I'm saying is that things like the shell casings or the license plate of the car that was used will help. The point is, let's see where the facts take us in this case.

I've been to hundreds of parties in my life. Do you know how many murders there were in total? Zero. Do you know how many fistfights? One. It's about who you choose to hang out with and when you do it. He's shown that he's a moron. Cut him before he becomes a problem if he already isn't because his history show's he's already one.

I agree with this given the severity of the error he made. Let him be another team's problem.

I would not doubt this to be the case. In fact, given that he's a high profile individual, I expect the police to hold that over his head to try to get him to talk.

This is it in a nutshell. Doesn't even matter to the team what level of involvement he had. Football is his profession and he's chosen not to be a professional. The fact that's he's even somewhat implicated is enough reason to cut him.

Choose to hang around with bad people, bad things will happen. Joseph made his choice, and it's not football

I've never heard that you have to report a homicide and even if it did the law wont say you have to report a potential homicide.

He knew what was going on?? Did he, you're assuming, the intent would need to be established and is why the police want to see the potential participants. If he shoots, drives or encourages the shooting then he faces charges, if he happened to be in a car then he wont. In France he would be facing charges of not preventing a crime....but I don't like that's a legal standpoint in America.

You are correct that being involved in such a group of 'friends' seriously brings into question both his character and his dedication to sport and if he's innocent i'd make him work out in front of the whole squad so he can prove his worth (or not).

And your point is? This didn't happen where Joseph grew up. He grew up in Louisiana. This happened in Dallas. He had a football career ahead of him with the opportunity to make millions and what does he do? The best thing for the team is to cut him. It sucks to need a CB, but the NFL at the minimum will suspend him for being present so we can't count on him anyway...and that's at the minimum if he isn't charged with being an accessory.

I hope he gets his life turned around and straightened out and stops hanging with people willing to kill others. I just hope he doesn't do it as a Cowboy because he's a detriment to the team at this point.

In Texas, it is indeed a crime to fail to report a violent crime or homicide. It's a Class A misdemeanor. That assumes he had no other involvement and witnessed it and failed to report it.

That's best case scenario for him if he was in the car. Given that there was an altercation beforehand and he was present, it's a bad look for him all around. I don't know if he's guilty or innocent. I don't care. He placed himself at the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong crowd. Someone lost their life as a result of it. I don't think the Cowboys should give him another chance. I think they should send a message to everyone else and cut him. I guarantee the league will suspend him at least a game...minimum. He's not dependable and the team needs to move on.

That being said, I hope he turns his life around and realizes that these people he hangs out with are an anchor around his neck and not the support structure he thinks they are.
