Philly won by two scores when we played them earlier in the season so I wouldn’t exactly call that eeking out a win. They had us down by 20 in that game. Granted, we made a comeback, but they shoved the ball down our throat on an 11 play drive to score and we couldn’t stop them. Hurts didn’t need to have his best game of the season to beat the Cowboys. There is a difference between that game and what happened today. The Cowboys got down by 10 points and were having to battle from behind most of the game. Dak needed his best stuff to pull off the win against Gardner Minshew. Philly was within striking distance until we stopped them in the end. I pointed out in the other post what needed to happen for us to win today. The important thing is the Cowboys got the win but the defense is going to have to get much better. We need to get players back.

When we have Hankins, Williams and LVE back, we WILL be better.

They beat our backup at their place, and we beat their backup at our place.

Why can’t normal Cowboy fans simply enjoy a win?

Best team in football used to mean something. The best few teams used to be so far ahead of everyone else that beating them actually meant something. Philly may be the best team this year but there are 8-10 others that are not very far behind, Dallas being one of them. Dallas barely beat a team without its MVP candidate starting QB and who lost several starters during the game. Very good win but will mean nothing in the long run. They let two 17 point leads on inferior teams turn into losses making this game and it’s outcome meaningless. Teams capable of winning a championship don’t do that. Ever!!!!

I thought they were losing they didn’t so good for them. It’s clear though the defense is in shambles. I didn’t realize they have a quick turnaround on Thursday. I don’t see how the defense gets fixed.

I don't even know what many a slip twixt a cup and a lip means and I'm not going to bother to ask. I care about winning championships not beating the best team without their best QB when we should be the #1 seed from it but we blew it. Most of you have such short attention spans on this forum I see it you're happy as hell when we win and mad as hell when we lose. My emotions don't change game to game, I want to see results in the playoffs, then I'll be happy. Got it?
Then don't post until the playoffs. Got it? Sheesh

Then don't watch. Wait until next year. Why torment yourself if you know the end result this season won't make you happy? Sheesh

Dallas just beat the Eagles team that is the best team in football. Dallas handled the run, created turnovers and the DBs kept making plays. It was a wonderful Christmas Eve. This Dallas team has fought through injuries and are tuning themselves up for the Superbowl. Watching Peters line up as TE and maul two defenders was incredible, I want to see more of this.

Outside of the pick, Dak was on fire. As TY gets in football shape I think he will be a problem for Coordinators. Lamb is smooth on his routes and his growth over the last three weeks is very noticeable. Zeke and TP are grinding dirt yards, and what impressed me was the team stuck with running which kept the play action working.

This game was a cross between a chess match and a wild west shootout.

Keep throwing at Bland and teams will learn today, he will make a believer out of the QB.

Enjoy the win, Merry Christmas Y'all,
Go Dallas!!!

Two observations: Dallas's run game diminished GREATLY when Steele went out. Tyler Smith is a far better LT than RT, but Steele was one of the best run blockers on the team. Second, the E-girls lost a number of players in this geme to injury. How many will be long term? Who knows, but the injury bug is finally biting E-girls. If one or two of those linemen go down, it's a totally different team.

They forced those turnovers. The Cowboys defense is pretty good at it. Nobody has gotten more turnovers than they have over the last two seasons.
forced the ints. the fumbles were pretty sloppiness on the eagles part.

Are you capable of being happy after a big win?

1st of all. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones.

As for me... winning to a backup QB and having drilled on us almost 80 points in the last two weeks is nothing to celebrate for

They beat our backup in their place, and they strutted and preened and bragged for weeks. We just beat their backup in our place. I won’t strut and preen and brag, but I WILL quietly enjoy it!

Two problems for Philly is that running Hurtz like they have guarantees he will succumb to major injuries at some point. Second problem is they have to decide to go all in on him soon.
And I view Hurtz like RG3 and Wentz, dynamic player who looks like a great QB as long as the RPO is a threat. One big injury and Hurtz is back to middling, oft-confused, pocket passer he was last year.

That's what I was trying to point out.

Those are called takeaway turnovers.

It's totally arguable that Hurts NOT being available actually played to the Eagles advantage.

It actually would slow Philly scoring pace while eating clock and opportune more 3rd and short stops on their side of the field. Minshew was terrific today, as good as it gets really.

If I'm Dallas I'm supremely confident for the potential 3rd match-up. Here's why.

Philadelphia has no answer for this passing game when it's clicking.

If I'm Dallas I push the petal to the metal the next contest entirely.

Let the Eagles believe Hurts will be as accurate and on target as Minshew was today to their demise... if they try and get in a shootout again, they will rue that decision.

If they play small ball again like in the 1st contest, we will be healthier and more prepared for the mobile QB.

Offensively? We got em now. Believe it.

We can use Parsons, Wilson, Kearse to mirror Hurts.

We have the team to beat the Eagles.

Some of our fans are just whiney little brats, who don't know the game.

It showed our offense can score against the best. Our D got cut through like butter by back up QB however.
