See ya Lakers. I'm happy for Nowitzki and the Mavs. He's been a guy who has been labeled as a choker etc. throughout his career despite being a great player and I'd love to see him shut everyone up this year. Wouldn't mind it if a certain overly-criticized QB did the same this season. ;)

So after watching the Bulls/Hawks game im convinced that Derrick Rose is a complete fraud of an MVP.

He scares me because he is going to get 2006 Dewayne Wade love the rest of the post season.

You can't even breathe on the guy right now.

Bennett Salvadore + Derek Rose is a lethal combo to beat.

The NBA should suspend Bynum for a year. Not only was that an extremely cheap and dirt shot with intent to injure, his response to it afterwards shows how big a POS he is.

As for Odom, he should get the normal response. One game suspension. You could see he was frustrated. He clearly didn't have intent to injury like Bynum did and he was very apologetic after the game.

Someone should have threw something heavy at Bynum when he was walking out. Preferably hit him in the eye with it.

Bynum is just lucky he didn't hurt Barea bad because there is no telling what could've happened to him.

BTW: Put some blame on Terry for starting all this when he took that cheapshot on Blake when they were getting blown out last month. Don't think they forgot about that. Bet u Odom and Bynum was just getting payback.
Um, no. There is no excuse for that. What Terry did was nothing on the level of those two.

That punk (Salvatore) lives about five minutes from me. I've never been a fan of him and I was extremely happy to hear that he had to shutdown his Stamford steakhouse about six months ago. (it was around for about 16 years) Best part about it was he had just did renovations to it about six months before he had to close it.

The NBA is corrupt from head to toe. The owners need to sweep out the NBA corporate office brass and all of the referees and start over. They ruin the game. I was a HUGE NBA fan up until the corruption and taint really started to bleed out onto the courts around 2002.

Yeah it has sucked for me as a Mavs fan and when you have an owner that voices his opinions about it they will come down on you even harder.

I'll never get past the Miami Heat series. I can't believe the league would so blatantly rob a team like that.

so your saying a guy should be suspended for a whole YEAR because he made a hard foul? :lmao2:

that is insane, stephen jackson went to the STANDS and punched a fan!! he wasnt even suspended a whole season. 2-5 games is what he should get

You damn right he should be suspended for a year. He had full intent to injure. He could have easily caused serious injury. You are a DAMN FOOL if you think otherwise. This is a professional sport, not some pickup street basketball game.

As for Stephen Jackson. He should have been ban from the NBA. That is absolutely something that shouldn't be tolerated.

This is my whole point at the fact that the NBA is corrupt and are ruining the game. The NBA front office and corrupt refs have made the NBA a ghetto league.

btw, it's not YOU GUYS here. I'm already stated that I hate the NBA. The Mavs *were* my team at one point. Right now, I just want Dirk to win a championship. He is a great guy and one of the best players in the game. He should have already had one in 2006, but....

its a bit extreme to want a guy suspended that long, as bad as that move was. terry punched michael finley in the balls, do you think he should have been suspended a whole year? because thats a lot worse than what bynum did

I am rooting against Miami and will get behind your Mavericks. For all of thier great years and coming up short in the playoffs, I am sure this would be sweet for you if they won the whole thing.

now if i can get back to talking about BASKETBALL and stop this pissing contest, i think you guys definitely dont want any part of the grizzle.

tony allen is a bruce bowen clone, only more athletic but without the corner three accuracy. he played manu as well as i have ever seen him being played, and he completely dominated on defense at the end of game 3, denying durant the ball, getting into passing lanes, it was incredible. the grizzlies are the real deal, they have been a top 3 team since the all star break and have been almost invincible at home since rudy gay got hurt and they acquired battier. the mavs wont have the same kind of space that they got vs the lakers if they play the grizzlies. someone mentioned westbrook as being a bad matchup for the mavs, but i bet you jason kidd would rather guard him than conley. unless roddy b comes back and is completely healthy conley is gonna give the mavs HUGE fits. the grizzlies are very athletic, and play great defense. they were 2-2 vs the spurs, 2-2 vs the lakers, 3-1 vs the mavs and thunder. i think the mavs would beat the thunder because their perimeter defense hasnt been as good in the playoffs as the grizzlies and the mavs could get open shots on them fairly easily, plus no one on their team can guard dirk beside ibaka. the grizzlies could throw tony allen or battier, or they can throw thadeus young at him to make it more difficult (obviously no one is gonna completely shut him down) they also are athletic enough to deny dirk the ball.

coaching goes to the mavs either way

Terry should have been suspended and it isn't even CLOSE to as bad as what Bynum did last night. I can't believe you would even say that. You are in extreme hate mode. I suggest you just avoid any Dallas Maverick threads, it appears to be to much for you to handle right now.

also it would be most advantageous for the mavs if this series ends in 6 games. it wouldnt give the mavs TOO much rest, which could be bad with the way they are shooting, plus most likely that game wont end until close to midnight friday, with game 1 in the WCF being sometime in the early afternoon sunday, giving the mavs a big edge in game 1

Congrats to the Mavs. Hate to see Phil Jackson go out like that, but you can't win them all. Hope you guys win it all. Anyone but Miami or Boston.

On a side note, if the stories are true Gasol needs some serious psychological help.

Way to go Mavs!!

I gotta admit, when I saw Barea get hit in mid-air and fall to the floor without getting up, I was pretty steamed. He could've gotten his arm or ribs broken or his head busted on that cheap shot. I saw Barea's post-game interview. He was smiling and said he's ok with it because that happens in basketball.

I was just wondering why they kept picking on the little guy!

I read that Kobe checked on him after the game and apologized for Bynum's cheap shot. Bynum was totally unapologetic. At least one Laker player has some class.

I don't know that I agree on a full year suspension, but there should be a significant suspension anyway - not just a token game or two. The NBA clearly needs to send a signal on this kind of thing. A "hard foul" is one thing, but what Bynum did could have lead to very serious injury - a helpless guy in mid air being assaulted by a much larger man in a limited contact sport.

Ummm no. It was on the same level as Odom's shove. Take off your homer glasses.
