Nice comback (series-wise) for the Spurs on a must-win night.

Tony's a beast!

Good to see Bonner redeem himself somewhat after looking like the "worst center in the history of the NBA" in the last game. :D

I'd still like to see more minutes from Gooden, though.

Hopefully we can grab at least one of these upcoming games in Dallas. I have a hunch this one is going 7!

i dont know DW, i wouldnt be surprised if the spurs sweep the rest of the series. but i wouldnt be surprised if it went 7 either. i would be surprised if the mavs won in less than 7 though

No, it was a big guy (one of the Mavs ManiAACs or whatever). The guy with the orange clappers has been a Mavs season ticket holder since their inception.

By the way, I'll trade you that guy straight up for the front row Spurs chief with all the makeup who keeps hitting the block of wood. The constant knocking is getting picked up by the Ch. 21 mics and it's really annoying. They mentioned it at halftime and said because where the mics are there's nothing they can do about it.

Good win by the Spurs (I assume they finish off a big lead with 2 mins left). I wouldn't have expected anything less (though, hey, I was hoping for a 2-0 series lead heading back to Dallas).

Bring on game 3!

The Mavs had a terrible game. They are not going to win much shooting sub-40%, allowing over 50%, getting out rebounded 44-27, and averaging a combined 30 points from Dirk and JET. Saturday the bench bailed those two out; not so much tonight.

ya we have done a good job on them. im SOO glad to see bruce back out there, i was starting to get worried throughout the year not seeing him out there. maybe pop is giving him the horry treatment this late into his career

I thought Bruce looked noticeably slower on defense out there. I'm glad he hit his three, but I just don't think he's the Bruce-of-old anymore... now he's just Old Bruce. :D But he committed some lazy fouls because he was out of position, and he got blown past a couple of times as well.

I'd like to see a bit more of George Hill out there, and a lot more of Drew Gooden... not just in garbage time.

Both Bonner and Udoka need to learn that, unless it's a three-pointer or a dunk, they're not allowed to shoot. Once Bonner steps inside the three point line, it's like a lid closes over the hoop for him. :laugh2:

After already dropping the 1st home game, it would have been a huge shock for the Spurs to drop game 2. No surprises.
After 2 games: slight advantage Mavs.

What are we going to do to slow down Parker?

I get so mad everytime I think about the Devon Harris trade.

Kidd just can't keep up and Berea just isn't big enough.

Berea is a heck of a bench guy though.

lol agree with you on everything except bruce, i think its more of a rust thing. he is not as fast as before but still our best on ball defender. george hill is probably number 2, he is a VERY good defender!

id agree with you if it was as simple as they got the split. but knowing the spurs history on playoff openers and the way the second game went id say the spurs have a slight advantage going into the last 5 games, even without home court.

Mavs lead by 16 at half, 46-30... get this:

Leading scorers:
Dirk - 12
JJ Barea - 11
Parker - 10 on 4-12 shooting

Duncan has 4 on 2-9.

Barea actually got the start.

I was mad that I can't watch this game... now I'm glad I'm not watching it.

Spurs sound like they're not playing well at all.

Maybe they're cooking up a comeback.

Mavs are destroying the Spurs right now. I'm happy, but wow. Never would've expected this.

BTW, I went to game 1, and it was awesome being in enemy territory (with the win, of course :D )!
