I love how NONE of the Spurs fans are saying ANYTHING in here after this game. :lmao2:

I wouldn't put much stock in that. Danny White and MC KAos are pretty stand up guys. It's Saturday night, and I heard there is something big going on in the NFL world this weekend...

ya jerk!

im glad i missed the game and decided to stay out at the lake instead, i kinda had a bad feeling about it today even though i felt we would win before this morning. that and the way the draft went for the cowboys made that a solid decision (and the huge largemouth and freshwater drum i caught helped out too!!)

i would say this series is over, but then again, it is the mavericks, and choking is what they do, no offense to anyone.

nah, but its over, there is not enough in the tank of tony parker to win 3 in a row. they might win tuesday but game 6 will be the last game for sure.

ps if anyone can help me catch catfish id appreciate it, im getting skunked on them out there, even at night!!

ps i wish we could have completed that george hill/mason for vince carter trade, oh well.

We're up 3-1. I remember the last time we were up 3-1 against the Spurs. BTW, the officiating was terrible in the 4th quarter but what do you expect from the NBA.

bad for whom? ya but that was a completely different team. duncan wasnt healthy, but it was a lot less severe than what he has right now. ginobili was fully healthy, parker was starting to heal from his hip injury, bowen was 3 years younger, so was finley. But most importantly, those were the defending champs, the current supporting cast, at least most of them, didnt win a championship in 07 or they were just riding the bench the whole time.

i think the only chance the spurs have of coming back comes from the history the mavs have of choking things away, but that is gonna require tony parker to not run out of gas, a big IF, and the supporting cast to help out, a ridiculously big IF!!

this team needs to get a fourth, consistent scoring option. i hope we can get someone to come in and help this offseason

So sad watching my Spurs sucking it. ah well, all good things must come to and end but its still doesnt make it less sucky.

ya, hopefully we can retool and make a couple of more good championships run with duncan while he is still in his prime, albeit the end of his prime

The Spurs in the first round are like Freddy/Jason/Michael Myers (the Halloween dude, not the Canadian) - I'll believe they're dead when the credits are rolling. And even then, there's always the next sequel.

But as for the Mavs choking, I'm not as sold on that. Not this time. I read this on another board and I think it sums it up best - after the 2006 Finals and the 67 win season turned debacle against the Warriors, and even last year when we were supposed to "expose" the Hornets as the young, inexperience upstarts... we have nothing more to lose.

We were written off as a non-playoff team a few months ago. Scratch that. Maybe they'll be the 8th seed and Laker Fodder. Scratch that. Maybe the 7th seed and get ousted by the Nuggets. Scratch that, too. So they're just taking it one day at a time and scratching their way to W after W. Assuming they move on to the Nuggets, they shouldn't have an answer to their athleticism, but I'll just continue taking it as they come, and it's all gravy from there.

I'm hoping they can then turn Stackhouse's contract in the offseason into a bargain contributor from a cap-strapped team. Maybe Damp too if it brings a low post interior scorer.

Mavs look good and are taking it to my defenseless Spurs.

Here are a couple of items that may cheer you up for tonight's game:

1) The Spurs have only lost one elimination game at home (granted, that was to the same team they are playing tonight, but that took OT in a game 7).

2) Since the first round went to seven games, every time a lower seed has taken a 3-1 series lead the home team has won game 5.

3) Manu will be back next year, Tim Duncan can finally get healthy, and the Spurs are targeting Rasheed Wallace with the MLE in the offseason. Help is on the way.

4) I can think of Four other reasons. No thumb this year, but you have four others on your fingers.

I would love it if you were right ..... but I just think you guys have the better team this year.

My Spurs look tired.

I think there are a lot of parallels right now between the Hornets and Spurs. Injuries have really ravaged those teams, and there just isn't enough firepower outside of each team's Big Two. They're tiring out. (though, the Spurs and Popovich would never allow the embarrassment of a 58 point loss at home) This series is really showing how important Ginobili is to this team.

As for the Mavs, I've followed them all year and this is by far the best, and most consistently I've seen them play all year (going back to the Sunday win over the Suns about a month ago). Heck, I don't think they played this well at any point last year. If these two teams had played in March, no way the Mavs win. But they went in different directions down the stretch.

I guess it is fair to say it is a wrap!!

Good job Mavs!! :D

Yeah, that's it. :D

The Spurs were down this series, but they'll be back. Duncan and co. finally get a full offseason to rest up. I see a lot of changes to their roleplayers this offseason, and some more youth to surround a healthy Duncan/Parker/Ginobili.

One thing I was VERY encouraged to see from this game was a killer instinct. The Mavs from earlier in the year would have let this one go and focused on game six at home. But they jumped out front from the opening tip off and never let up.

Now the match up between Mavs and Denver (which is looking like so far) will be interesting one. This will be the tell tell for the Mavs in my opinion.

I agree, they have had problems in the past maintaining leads. So I was really really happy to see them being able to maintain this time.
