I'm curious as to why you would feel that way about Weddle?

Cause I think Berry stays in KC, and I'm confident Weddle plays for someone other than SD next year. Would rather not sign Weddle though, as he's already 30 years old and will want big money.

Havent been on top in 20 years. Why would it just change in one year?

I agree about Berry, that's why I didn't ask about him.

As for Weddle, his age will force him to take what a team will offer. That's why he couldn't get the extension he was after in San Diego. If his price isn't too high, I think the stability he could provide for the time Romo has left would be worth it.

I don't know how many people actually pay attention to Jones and his tendencies....

He's gonna get Manziel. Whether you like it or not. He couldn't get him in the draft and continually talks about how he feels he made a mistake. He won't do that twice. Just start accepting it. Johnny to the Cowboys for next to nothing.

Love it or hate it. (Not even sure how I feel about it)

i only know that tony romo is capably cerebral and has a mind for the QB position that exceeds his physical limitations. and i can say that jason garrett exhibited the same tendencies as a player - although with a much more limited body of work.

i think Dallas could be a very good environment for a young QB truly driven to learn the position.

So I'll ask again, what have you seen from RGIII to possibly make you think that he's "a young QB truly driven to learn the position"?

I totally agree with you that I feel it's a foregone conclusion that it will happen. I just hope that they don't give up anything higher than a 7th rounder for him.

i don't pretend to have insight into his inner workings - i just know that the rare physical tools are all there. the QB position is mostly mental and this kid is not dumb. he has a really good chance if he applies himself. he's definitely worth a shot. he and manziel are both Texas boys - this could be gravy.

I have no faith that a player like Griffin, who so quickly wore out his welcome with not one, but two coaching staffs, and whose work habits are highly criticized (for anyone to research and see for themselves) will some how, some way turn things around with a staff that has shown a complete inability to function without Tony Romo under center.

Jamarcus Russell had "rare physical tools" too, but you can't make a guy care when he doesn't or want it for him.

Beyond that, I'm not sure why RG3 would even sign here. Philly, Houston, St Louis or SF are all team he could sign with that will give him a better chance to start than coming here to sit behind Romo and hope he gets hurt again. Maybe some other teams too like Denver or NO if they decide to move on from Manning and Brees.

I don't think he is ready to admit he is not a starter yet and there will be opportunities for him out there. It is a QB starved league.

Weddle had a career low in interceptions this season (Zero) and the fewest tackles since his rookie year.

He is 31 years old and isn't a Charles Woodson type of athlete who was able to milk his athleticism (and smarts) to play late into his 30s.

I think Weddle is probably just about done -- just a guess.

and why do we think Romo wants to start training his replacement ?

If romo had his way (and I think he has more power than Garrett in this thoroughly dysfunctional organization) i bet we don't take a QB in rd 1

Jesus...we got a second string QB throwing for 435yrds and 3 TDs in his second start...yet we got fans who want to trade draft picks to Cleveland for a washed up drunk.

Pretty sure Jerry reads this board...and people wonder where he gets his ideas from

Agree about Manzeil....not fooled by the performance of Moore, he is as they say ' a JAG"....

Hopefully the only "Big Splash" is that of Jerry Jones jumping into a lake.

Don't see them being big spenders in FA. We will jump in during week 2 of FA.
