He's known his fate for a month or longer, so getting some solid shuteye shouldn't have been a problem. There was absolutely so good reason to rush this firing or treat him like he was caught embezzling or something.

Some people like closure. Others, like you just want a reason to slam Snyder.

Um, that's what farewell press conferences are for. If the Skins worried about him being "hassled," then they shouldn't have fired him in the dead of night. Jerry has his flaws, but he'd never humiliate a coach like this.

A bit of a circular argument dontcha think? He was escorted out so that he wouldn't have to face the press in the middle of the night ... so don't fire him then?

A number of coaches will be fired this week or next, but none will receive the Zorn treatment.

Sorry, BB, but I'm going to have to agree with AbeBeta. He was there, so they may have just gotten it over with so both parties could move on. There was no point in prolonging it. If I were in Zorn's shoes, I would want that same scenario to take place. Now he can move on with his life, and no have to worry about making another trip just to get fired.

New low for Danny.

Zorn was a bad coach but to treat him like the root of all evil is ridiculous.

Actually a pretty stupid move IMO. Can't imagine why anyone would want to deal with a guy like that.

Supposedly gonna give Shanny 50 million reasons to deal with him.

I have never understood the whole being escorted out by secuirity thing.

What is Jim Zorn going to do?

Well, he could steal office supplies or load up on some jerseys and footballs. You can't trust employees you vetted and went through a physical and investigated prior to hiring.

I think the better question might be:

What wouldn't Jim Zorn do?

In all seriousness, I'd take a shot at Danny if given the chance and I am Zorn.

ESPN reporting that Shanny is the favorite and the Skins interviewed an assistant in order to fulfill the Rooney Rule interviews.

Pretty slimey IMO. Didn't even bring in an outsider for their trick and pony show of an interview. Doesn't really matter anyway, they want Shanny and I really think teams should get Rooney Rule exemptions if they are to hire a Superbowl Champion coach.

I understand why the Rooney Rule is there but you can't tell me that there are many more qualified guys available than Shanny. On the flip side, I realize that those mock interviews could help a guy out later if owners discuss how impressed they are with a guy and word gets around the league.

They are going to get hammered on the fake Rooney satisfying interview. The process works to get minority candidates experience in legitimate interview situations.

I recall the Jerry interviewed a couple of minority candidates from Parcells' staff and the league told him that was not satisfactory which led to him bringing in Ron Rivera and Mike Singletary. That was likely voluntary, but the correct thing to do.

Why? He got a ton of money, plus assaulting an owner would severely limit his future employment opportunities.

Sorry, but there's a time and place for everything. Tom Landry had to be fired, but it didn't have to happen on a golf course--something Jerry regrets to this very day. Again, just because something is "inevitable" doesn't mean you have to forsake class or simple manners.

plus he's likely not get his contract paid out as he could then be fired for cause.

Maybe it's just me, but I prefer to get things over with. If I were to have something like that, I wouldn't be able to relax until it was over with. Maybe that's just me though.

I would have waited for you to do it, but I only have about 40 more years to live. Compared to Danny, I'm ****ing Emily Post.

Whatever. Let's just drop the pretense that they did Zorn a favor or something, because that flunks every laugh test known to man.

Zorn's been fired since week 6 so this shouldn't a surprise to him or anyone else. I'm just surprised they let him on the plane and didn't make him fly home commercial!!!

I'm the biggest Dan Snyder hater around, but I have no problem with this.

I do with pretty much every other things he's ever done though. Such as not allowing worker to talk to him. He made them talk to his assistant who was standing next to him. I can't think of another person who I think is bigger scum than him. But this one thing I don't have a problem with.

He deserved to be fired, but not to be humiliated like that. Shanny, don't be surprised when it happens to you.
He was humiliated even more by being publicly gelded when the Sherman Lewis thing happened. What is another slap in the face going to matter?

:laugh2: I didn't know that but that's typical tyrannical snyder for you.

Who was the guy that found out he was fired when danny boy put frozen ice cream on their desk, letting it melt all over everything?

Jim Zorn new qb coach? Hmm...
For who? The Cowboys? I hope not as Romo doesn't need a new qb coach with a wco pedigree, the one he has is doing just fine.
