I'm not sure why anyone is so confident he will go anywhere.
Fans place entirely too much emphasis on winning and the thought that an asst coach would rather make less money and be on a winning team than be promoted to a HC of a losing team is laughable. Here's the thing. There is no salary cap when it comes to coaching personnel. Quinn can get hefty extended contract from the Cowboys. His head coaching career took a nose dive with the Falcons. He already stated he is not interviewing in this 2-week window with the Jaguars. Quinn seems ecstatic being the defensive coordinator with the Cowboys and he had input in the draft and got most of what he needed. Do I know for sure that Quinn isn't going anywhere? Of course not, but there are many positive variables that could keep him here.
That doesn't translate to him leaving. I mean, the season isn't even over and already people think he's leaving with players. That's a little unrealistic. He's taken our defense from the bottom of the pit to the top 3. Not just that but he's done with missing 3 key starters for several games. In other words, he's proving he can turn your team's D into the top 10 with a few pieces.

It would make more sense to speculate that he'd rather stay in Dallas and ride this wave.
I agree. He’s definitely not going anywhere this year riding the wave out. But I think it’s naive not to believe if he’s pursued next year after the season he won’t entertain HC offers. That doesn't translate to him leaving. RightI see what you're saying but with any promotion, strike while your iron is hot. Next year's results aren't promising.......couple major injuries could drop your D from top 5 to middle of the pack. Look at KM ....... one of the hottest names after the first 6-7 games but now he's barely mentioned.
Yes but we have to remember we’ve added some key talent. He's taken our defense from the bottom of the pit to the top 3. Not just that but he's done with missing 3 key starters for several games. In other words, he's proving he can turn your team's D into the top 10 with a few pieces.
In short, I understand he's qualified to be a HC, but that doesn't mean that's what he wants or will want. What we do know is that he's been a much more successful DC than HC and it's not even debatable. Couple that with the simple fact that in Jacksonville, it's a complete rebuild minus a QB and WR. Dallas is stacked and has WAY more qualified staffing. It's the most coveted place to coach with the best facilities. Just my opinion.I agree. He’s definitely not going anywhere this year riding the wave out.

Most coaches are usually looking to move up. Especially one who’s already been HC.
The fact you’re part of a winning situation creates the attraction and interest . We’ve seen this before in prior eras losing great asst coaches. I’ve just never seen this resentment from fans for the pursuit of these coaches seeking to move up.
In the old days it was a source of pride when coaches like Ditka, Reeves, Stallings , Wanstadt, Turner and others were pursued because of their success in Dallas.
So, we think asst coaches would rather be in a winning situation than be their own boss with potential to build their own success. In short, I understand he's qualified to be a HC, but that doesn't mean that's what he wants or will want. If I were to bet, I think he stays in Dallas at least another year. This group is special and he knows it.
Jaguars: Hello, Dan?
Quinn: I'm sorry you have the wrong number.
Yes but we have to remember we’ve added some key talent.
This is first year in awhile we’ve had two Pro Bowlers on defense.
Our defensive drafts last two years is the difference.
Yes but those behind the 1st round are making the difference after Parsons . We’ve always said that how you build a contender is hitting on middle rounds.True but someone tweeted last week that our D only has 2 starters that were 1st round picks. The rest are 2nd, 3rd, and mid-rounders.
100%.......just read one writer suggesting there could be 4-5 openings ( Jags, Raiders, Vikings, Broncos, Bears, and maybe Seahawks)So, we think asst coaches would rather be in a winning situation than be their own boss with potential to build their own success.
That’s like thinking a player would rather be a backup on the bench for a winning team than a starter on a losing team.
I just don’t believe that’s the norm. History would suggest it’s not. Most coaches are looking to move up.
And it appears Quinn may get his pick of the litter and why he’s turned down this interview at least for now. He’s probably eying Seattle.
No, I'm speculating that Quinn will stay in Dallas, I'm not sure why you added "Assistant coaches" as if I'm talking about anyone else, let alone generalizing all coaches. Let's not put words in others mouths to fluff up a narrative. So, we think asst coaches would rather be in a winning situation than be their own boss with potential to build their own success.

fist bump dans been proving many people wrong all year. No distractions. its the correct thing to do his statement was priceless.
still work to do..will Moore follow suit we will find out his loyalties .. going to an interview duding playoff run with hoes of sb is like part of your team going to Cabo on the bye..yes it if. Prove me wrong.
the job will be there after the season if they want you bad enough,.they will wait.
Yeah no. It's a business. Asking a team to wait for maybe a month and half to talk to you would essentially be telling them no.
I know Go Cowboys and everything but if you want to be a head coach you need to take the interviews when you can get them.
