Darnold > Prescott

What has Dak done that Wentz hasn't? 2 playoff wins...OK. But really...if Philly had kept building around him, those great teams they had...Carson could have won 2 playoff games with those squads, right?

One guy was rightly dumped and the other should have been discarded at the same time.

We can't play the "if" game for Wentz and not play the "if" game for other quarterbacks bro.

Wentz was a nice quarterback and had talent, but there's a reason he owns more jerseys than a concessions stand at the Pro Bowl.

He also has a SB ring he did not win.

14 called. But some of them were not accepted. In context, we're talking about "what Dak had to overcome". Well, he didn't have to "overcome" penalties that had zero material impact on the game.

The "14 PENALTIES" banner you keep waving is nothing more than Dak Fan Flag. That's why you are foaming at the mouth about the penalties called...because it makes it appears though Dak had no choice but to fold. No...better QBs could have overcome that and have. 89 yards of penalties vs 2 soul-crushing INTS and wildly inaccurate passes?

I dunno, I blame the guy who is credited with wins, is the team leader, highest paid and whose unit was most dysfunctional. Call me crazy or call me FAIR.

Its not just about the quarterback. Do you realize how hard it is to get anything done with playoff record amount of penalties??

The offense can't get in rhythm, the defense gets worn out, the way you want to execute your playbook by down and distance is affected....

Again.... there's a reason why NO FOOTBALL TEAM in NFL history has ever won a playoff game in these situations, period. There is no quarterback who ever lived, no offensive players who ever lived, no defensive players who ever lived, or no coaching staff who have ever lived that has ever overcome to win a playoff game in that situation, period.

Im not understanding why you can't understand that.

The Dak coping after year 10 is unbelievable. Makes me nauseous.

The Matthew Stafford coping lasted 12 years until he won his first playoff game. After 12 years in the league.....

So it could have been worse.

put Darnold in Dallas and Dak in Seattle

No changes to the rest of the team/coaching/FO

does Darnold take DAL to the playoffs?
does Dak take SEA to the Super Bowll?

14 penalties....so the game was out of hand and there was no chance for the Cowboys to compete? Or did the 2 INTs have anything to do with what happened that day?

In fact, if you're going to use the "rhythm" defense - that's a new one - well...maybe Dak's SOUL CRUSHING INTs hurt the "offensive rhythm"? Nah!!! Dak is the victim...everyone else did it to HIM!!!

Darnold was never coddled by a team like Dak, provided weapon after weapon like Dak and didn't have a credulous fan base that would worship him in every city like Dak.

So...I dunno...

Not really. Where was this Stafford coping you speak of? Jim Schwartz, Jim Caldwell and Matt Patricia, along with two horrible GMs in modern times.

Dak was handed the keys to a Lambo his very first year in the league, has had numerous top OLs, defenses 70% in top 10 scoring, top 5 in turnover differential 2021-23, etc.

The FIRST YEAR Stafford goes to a well-coached team with upper management that knows how to run things, HE WINS A SUPER BOWL. I love how you say "won his first playoff game" when they won the Lombardi.

Dak's had numerous Pro Bowl players around him in a generally weak division and hasn't even sniffed the Conference Championship; he's played some of his worst ball in the playoffs.

Stafford is a surefire HOFer; Dak won't even come close.

Again.... you're embarrassing yourself with more deflections than Victor Wembanyama.

Let's be adults here. Please just answer the question. Respectfully.....

Why is it that no football team led by any quarterback in history has been able to overcome 14 penalties to win a playoff game vs a number one defense in one hundred years of professional football?

Please. Can you just answer that simple question?

And according to the policy around here, you just made a ton of excuses for Stafford.

Im told around here that good quarterbacks ARE SUPPOSED TO ELEVATE the players around them.

Stafford was a 1st round drafted quarterback expected to be a starter. Dak was drafted in the 4th round expected to backup the current starter. So stop giving excuses to Stafford for failing to elevate the players around him in Detroit.

Name me one receiver that Dak had that was on Calvin Johnson's level? Yeah the Megatron that Stafford had....

When Stafford won a Superbowl with the Rams, he led the NFL in interceptions, so the Rams won inspite of him. Now i give credit to Stafford for BECOMING a great quarterback, but he failed to show he couldn't get the Rams into the Superbowl without that great defense lead by Aaron Donald this time.

Maybe he will next year.

Your argument collapses the moment you pretend draft position determines greatness, because if that were true, Tom Brady would have been irrelevant, Patrick Mahomes would not be better than Mitch Trubisky, and half the league’s best players would not even exist. Matthew Stafford spent 12 years in Detroit dealing with bad ownership, constant coaching turnover, weak defenses, inconsistent offensive lines, no run game, and almost zero depth outside of Calvin Johnson, yet still put up elite numbers and elevated multiple average receivers into career best seasons. And when you cherry pick his 2021 interceptions, you conveniently ignore that he threw for 4,886 yards, 41 touchdowns, a 102.9 passer rating, finished top three in yards and touchdowns, then followed it up in the playoffs with 1,188 yards, 9 touchdowns, and only 2 interceptions, including clutch wins over Tampa, San Francisco, and Cincinnati and the game winning Super Bowl drive with no run game and no OBJ. That is not winning in spite of him, that is winning because of him.

Meanwhile, Dak Prescott has spent his entire career behind elite offensive lines, with dominant running backs, stacked receivers, a weak division, and still has not reached a Conference Title game or Super Bowl or delivered consistently in big playoff moments.

Saying Stafford needed help is meaningless, because every champion quarterback had help, and no Rams quarterback won before him even with Aaron Donald anchoring the defense. Football is a team sport, not tennis, and pretending Stafford was supposed to overcome a dysfunctional franchise by himself is just moving the goalposts.

The reality is simple: Stafford carried broken rosters for over a decade and still produced like an elite quarterback, then immediately won when he finally joined a competent organization, while Dak has had every advantage imaginable and still keeps falling short, so if anyone failed to elevate, the evidence points in one direction, and it is not Stafford.

I already answered the question by dismantling the premise. What's more impactful...number of penalties, the yards the penalties cost, the side of the team it represents, etc...

Again, you clumsily, lazily and predictably picked the metric you think nails your case and refuse to acknowledge anything else. But THAT argument is full of holes.

Most Penalty Yards overcome by a QB - 142 (Cowboys had 89 for reference). Steelers vs Bengals 2015 AFC Wild Card. But THAT'S not fair...the QB was Ben Roethlisberger...a for sure HOFer...not Dak.

Here's a question: How many QBs threw 2 INTs and won a playoff game? What's the percentage? 29%. That means 70% of the time when a QB throws 2 INTs you lose. I don't dare do the stats for being on the road....probably goes up to 90% loss prediction.

But yeah...you stay foaming at the mouth over 14 called penalties, when only 9 were accepted. It's the last safe harbor in a storm of FACTS.

Dak Apologetics 3:3 - When thou are unable to denigrate one's own players to lift up Dak, tarnish another great player to even the playing field." (Modern Jethro Version)

The main thing you said out of all of that is, football is a TEAM sport. I definitely agree. Lets just remember to include the Dallas Cowboys in that TEAM sport as well.

Far too often, we talk about the Cowboys success or failures as if this was boxing or golf.

If its up to one quarterback to elevate his team to success, then that goes for all quarterbacks....

If its a team sport for one quarterback, then its a team sport for ALL quarterbacks. I have no problem with it.

There are a fair number of champion quarterbacks who were on their second team. There were a few on their third teams. A fifth team is almost unheard of. Earl Morrall is the only comparison.

You were doing great until you brought up Wentz. Remember when people said Wentz was a better quarterback than Dak?

How'd that work out.....

His new name is Carson (Spaulding) Wentz because he bounces around the league like he's in a trampoline contest. With that said, leave Wentz out of sentences referring to Dak. The point is more effective when you atleast use quarterbacks on Dak's lever or better than him.
You just confirmed my point on how bad Dak choked. Dak was suppose to be the better QB
Wentz had no WRs they brought in guys off the street and it was a win and your in the playoffs.
Dallas defense showed up and held the Eagles to 13 points. Couldn’t have been set up better for Dak to have success. Dak led them to 3 FGs!
That is just one example of why I’m not buying into Dak being capable of beating good teams in succession to make a run to an NFC championship game.
