Has NE had players who would be expected to start or be significant contributors be suspended for 4 consecutive years?

Secondly is our HC fit to tie Belichick’s shoes?

Thirdly before you get too giddy pointing out how many games we won last year, starting from 2007 remind yourself of our record in the years after we’ve been to the playoffs.

This latest suspension is symptomatic of our poorly run front office.

We need all the help we can get and not have two or more players suspended for part or all of a season every season.

It must be so nice to throw rotten apples from the cheap, cheap seats. Only 1 team can win the SB and it is not likely to be us next year, right? We haven't been close in over 20 years and we are not likely to win it this year either. You can enjoy whatever success the team can attain this year or, you can move over to the NE fan boards and cheer like banshees. This FO is not going anywhere so get used to that... This coaching staff is here for at least this year so get used to that... The team will have 53 players available for the 1st game against the Gints so get used to that... Will we sniff the playoffs? I kind of like our chances.

trying to ignore an obvious problem or whistling past the graveyard- either way is dumb.

Every NFL team has its problems... Are we going to solve them...I say no. Is the Dallas FO going to solve them...Maybe. I would just as soon whistle past the graveyard like the last 21 years than all the scream and shout crowd signifying nothing but hot air.

I agree but then that even makes it more critical for players to consult with team before taking it.

There have been several cases where players consulted the league-provided resources and received wrong or out dated information. The league is supposed to be the resource

If you're happy with the current setup then good luck to you as no doubt your well used to it by now.
And if you think two playoff wins in 21 is success then your excitement for the next 21 years must be unbounded.
And frankly I'm not moving anywhere on your say so!!!

First of all, there is no "league-provided" resource for players. They just have a list of things that are illegal. It's the NFLPA who puts out the information and provided the players with an app that would give them direction. But as was said in some of these recent high profile cases, such as Lane Johnson, the app is only a guide and that players should be consulting with their team medical personnel when taking something over the counter, not prescribed by the team. Both the NFL and NFLPA were clear about this.

Irving failed to do that.

He's fighting the suspension but I don't see him winning against the gustopo in goodell

I don't think he has much of a case. Past situations similar to Irving's have been pretty clear that it's on the players to know exactly what they are putting in their bodies and that they should always consult with their respective teams before taking anything.

It appears Irving didn't do that.

I like Irving and it stinks that he will be suspended. But he's not an elite, stud (at least at this point). At this point, it hurts depth more than anything and if people are thinking Irving out costs us 2-3 games then I would suggest our problems are bigger than David Irving if we can't win games with him on a 4 game suspension.

Did I say I was happy, Oh contraire! Is being miserable, mad, crazy, depressed going to solve anything or any of the Cowboy's problems...Uh-NO. Might as well kick back, have a margarita surprise, chill and just enjoy life. NFL football only comes once each year and only lasts for about 4.5 months.

However I do want the Cowboys to win another SB before I shuffle off this mortal coil.

We all keep wishing on that Big Blue Star and just maybe in the next 5 years we might just steal one from Tom Terrific.
Stranger things keep happening all the time, right?

In that case they can present that to the league office. I don't think Irving in a bad guy but honestly I am getting sick of it. Every fricking year we get these news reports of a Cowboy player missing games due to these failed test. There are 53 players on the roster yet not all 53 are failing test. Explain??? It just get old and the excuses every damn year get old. Others manage to play this game with no issue. Jason Witten 14 season he has missed 1 game due to injury and never failed a test. Either he is super human or else these other guys are just stupid, if Witten can manage I see no reasons others can't.

Well Tom Brady missed 4 games as well and look how that turned out! :p
Rob Nikovich was also suspended for 4 games for PEDs

It happens to the best of them

This is not a big deal........ it would be worse if it was weed because they have to keep testing for 2 years when they fail a drug test........not so for PEDs........ it is why Gregory will never play again
Gregory will continue to be tested forever and he will fail or miss another test

Much to do about nothing

Will be blown up because it's a Cowboys player. And the C fans never miss a chance to wallow in their own self pity...

13-3

I think it is a big deal losing a person the team was counting on for 4 games. NFL you can't afford to lose many games if you expect to make post season and the loss of Irving makes a weak area of the team even weaker. You are right I care because he is a Cowboy player and the Cowboys are the team I have followed since 1965 and frankly do not give a crap about any other player on any other team, that is their problem. So of course some of us Cowboy fans are disappointed about any thing or player whose action hurt the overall team.
