David Irving suspended 4 games

At this point...I'd consider cutting ties asap. A tumultuous offseason has gone from bad to worse. Can't recall a player having a worse start to a contract year. Feel bad that his situation involves custody issues...but as things stand, it would be hard to fathom that he'd be part of the future.

I've had it with Irving and his BS! There is a reason why we gave him a second round tender and no team bit at the cheese. Smart move by FO and smart move by 31 teams to sit back. 2018 plays out and he's gonzo in my books. More opportunities for Ward IMO

So I guess I'm learning something new today. Someone that knows let me know if I am right or wrong. Irving has been suspended for Peds before, today he was suspended for substance abuse. Which would be a drug that's not related to steroids/peds? So a previous PED suspension cannot count towards making your first substance abuse suspension longer? Because both suspensions are only 4 games. I would have thought with this being his 2nd suspension it would make it longer.

Also with him getting suspended for substance abuse means this is the 3rd time he has failed a test since the first two you get put into the NFL substance abuse policy and take classes for it while those 1st two fails are never made public... I think. Someone prove me wrong or right because I'm not 100% sure on any of this.

Some failed test before suspension slips out to the public. I remember Gregory’s slipped out that he was getting 4 game checks taken. I think that’s your second failed one.

A player said in a interview that for every player you hear about that fails there are at least 5 more you didn’t hear about that’s in the beginning stages of the program.

I can relate to the custody battle and the problems that causes with children so I was cool with him missing time to take care of that. That said this is inexcusable.
