Roy broke a rule, and now he must suffer the consequences.

What's all the complaining about?!

1) It's a Dallas player (the rules don't apply to us)
2) Roy is the board's favorite pet

Add water and stir.

how do you think the reports were transported between hands w/ such speed and grace?

see your hands say no but your words say "YES YES YES"

And remember, we are trying to save McNabb from getting 15 yards more on the play.... by committing a 15 yard penalty.

Your argument is genius.

he obviously didnt think he was committing a penalty, did you not see his reaction?

Since its called so inconsistently, nobody really knows what is and what isnt a horse collar anymore

so your argument is also "genius"

Again, if a player wraps up the ball carrier from behind and lands on his legs when he brings him down the same injury can occur and it is totally legal.

Just plain stupid.

Roy should just jog these next two weeks non-stop while listening to Rocky music to hype himself up take as much weight off as possible... jump-rope, eat only chicken breasts, and drink lots of water... eat some fiber as well... come back 10 lbs lighter and just dominate...

well thanks for sarcastic reply, but here's the video

in it he takes steps the OPPOSITE way that McNabb ends up running in coverage, then has to stop and cut the other way...McNabb is already running full speed, hence the head start he has on him...he does run him down after going parallel, but because of the way RW is running, then having to stop and change direction, McNabb does have quite a head start on him

And he catches him.

More importantly, Reeves is standing right there in front of him. Unless Roy is automatically assuming the Reeves is going to miss the tackle, he is voluntarily adding 15 yards to the play doing something he knows is wrong.

I honestly don't know what the rule is word for word, mediots interpret it then puke it up to us all, but I would love to read the rule word for word.

What's it going to be then, eh?

you see Aaron Glenn horse-collaring many people? the part about Roy having strong hands, which is why he horse-collars, isn't as ridiculous as you make it sound

He horse-collars because he's always horse-collared. It has nothing to do with his "strong hands". It is effective as a take-down because he has that quality, but is besides the point.

It is a habit. He has admitted that repeatedly.

Other players don't use it because that's probably not the way they were taught, and allowed, to play football at an early age. He apparently was and now it is something he does instinctually.

now we're gonna have to endure all these threads come next week if we win, saying to bench roy williams the rest of the season bla bla bla. i can already see them. ''we dont need him'' ''he sucks!'' ''we should cut him right now'' and all them nonsense ....thats if dallas' secondary performs good next weekend...

i'm not defending roy, i agree i guess he should get suspended. he breaks the freaken rule a lot! so there....

but the bashing needs to freaken stop ...its not needed..we know his incapabilities..

lol, because he has strong hands, that allow him to grip the shoulder pads, and pull down

whats really sad is the number of people arguing otherwise in this forum

they dont get it either...and if it wasnt RW and an argument to support their lame agendas, they wouldnt care or would support the opposite argument

Exactly, If I knew the exact timing of the play, I would post a video of Roys tackle on Ben Watson from the Patriots game.

Look at this pic of the Musa break. Ouch! See how RW has the side area? I thought you could pull them down from the side. I thought it couldn't be the middle of the back shoulderpads and then dropping down.
