I don't want to make too much of this, but c'mon man it's definitely a character issue to be driving while under the influence.

If you or anyone else here has ever driven a car from a restaurant, bar, party or lounge after having beer, liquor, or smoked weed, then according to your logic, YOU ALL have character issues.

Its illegal to operate a motor vehicle under the influence of legal or illegal drugs and alcohol. This includes prescription drugs as well.

With that said, who in here has character issues according to the logic swirling around this thread???

(My hand raised) I guess I have character issues too.

I wonder if he has any failed drug tests for weed through the NFL. They “random” test for street drugs 1 time between opening of training camp and first preseason game.. If you pass then.. unless you do something like this then they won’t test you again until next year. But if he had already failed in the NFL randoms then he is in their program and he will be random tested for a certain amount of time and is fined. If he fails 4 times and refuses the program he gets suspended. But they raised the amount that’s allowed in your system. If these players smoke more than a few times a week then they will fail. Still not what the players want. These guys using it for pain them they need to let them smoke with a prescription. Best to just pass the first time and keep yourself on the low low. I see a suspension coming. If lucky then 3 games. Lol. He likely has already failed or he has bad luck and passed and thought he was in the clear and was stupid. You got weed and a gun and driving.

These guys act like they never went to work with THC and guns in the car or drove through town going 120.

Weed? Come on man.
Exactly!!!

You have surgeons, lawyers, and all kinds of other professionals who do coke on a regular basis, but I've never heard anyone saying they have character issues. I know this first hand because , back in my day, I used to sell to them at parties or at their homes. I didn't have to stand on a corner and made serious bread.

Again.... they don't say those professionals have character issues, they only apply that to athletes.

Make that make sense.....

Todd Archer said it was not weed but another substance. Anyone know what Archer is talking about?

"According to police, the controlled substance charge is for another substance -- not for possession of marijuana"
THC tetrahydrocannabinols

" A spokesperson from the Frisco (Texas) Police Department confirmed the arrest Wednesday to USA TODAY Sports in an email and said the controlled substance charge was for alleged possession of THC, not marijuana. "

Second-year Dallas Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams was arrested Sunday night, one day after he played in the team's preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks, and charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful carrying of a weapon. "

Same thang ... cannabis related, imo.

But it's a no-no to have both in a same time-place possession.

Exactly what I was thinking............ 4-6 games most likely.

The only real question as this point is when does it come?
I thought the NFL doesn’t care about the marijuana anymore. I think it’s just the idea that he may have a couple of misdemeanor charges.

Mistakes are made. Especially when young. What state was he in. And how much weed did he have. So many different laws in different states. But even if weed is recreational in your state you have to be careful if you have your concealed. Big problems until the USA decriminalizes weed in the states. It’s stupid to let the states govern the laws for it but keep it illegal federally. But I bet the federal government is collecting taxes from these states that allow sale of it legally in there states. That is twisted logic. I can come into your state and bust you as federal agency for it but I want a cut of your sales please.

i agree, making weapons to kill each other is and was pretty stupid.

Hard to convince billy bob and betty sue though, they all need 50 guns to protect themselves and also to take on the us military in the suburbs.

It's a beautiful pie in the sky dream to make guns disappear from bad people. Naive, but beautiful.
