you dont have to take your kids to all the movies(dump them off at Grandmas),i am interested in a R rated superhero movie.

Please go see this movie and then come back and report to us what you think about it. I'm not wanting to waste my limited movie money. Thank you.

I like this. Saves a ton of time.

Watched the trailers for a few movies I've never gotten around to seeing. My reviews...

Lawrence of Arabia
This is going to be a terrible movie. Bunch of sweaty people yelling in bathrobes. Too many camels to be a good movie. How many is too many? If a movie has more than 0 camels it's a bad movie. Also, what are they even fighting over. It's all sand dunes. You guys can have those sand dunes. We'll take these. They look exactly the same. Problem solved. Should be a 10 minute movie.

Life of Pi
Don't bother. Kid trapped on a boat with a tiger for two hours. Total fantasy. The tiger would eat the kid almost immediately. The kid would be dead. The tiger can't speak so it's going to be one character talking to himself. Saw this movie already when it was a guy and a volleyball. Also, math may be involved at some point. No thanks.

Dr No
Good title. Better one is Dr Hellz No. Guys, this James Bond character is supposed to be a secret agent, but he tells everyone who he is (twice!) and there are explosions and gunfire everywhere. S-E-C-R-E-T. Also, it's set in Jamaica but there are basically no Jamaicans -- no dreadlocks, no tie dye shirts, no reggae, no hackey sack, no irie mon. Might as well be set in Myrtle Beach.

avoid the movie, why i say that? cause deadpool is just another superhero movie. and its rated R, you wouldnt take your kids to a rated R movie. also the dialogue from deadpool is ....... terrible.

worry about Race and Hail Caesar, those are better movies to watch this february. as well as that ski jumping movie starring Hugh Jackman

Thanks. I've been a avid subscriber of your newsletter ever since the issue "Inception: who wants to watch people sleep?"

Yyyeeeesssss!!!! I saw it
So you found out for yourself that Deadpool wasn't "just another superhero movie." Good for you but be prepared. Although well-done, the original was low budget (about $60 million). Get ready for sequels that'll look more polished. Colossus will look more realistic in Deadpool II. Heck, they should be able to afford a few more X-men in the next go-arounds (insider joke). :p

Looks like we might get an R-rated Wolverine now too!

I hope so. It would be nice to see the character truly cut loose on screen like in the comics. All the movies thus far show or imply him slashing at opponents but nothing truly reflective of the significant damage he can dish out--regardless whether he's slicing and dicing with his adamantium or bone claws. A true representation of his Berserker Rage would be great also. The Wolverine (and even the Jean versus Logan scene in X-Men:The Last Stand) did a good job illustrating how his mutant healing factor makes him a formidable opponent in battles but I wish any new movies will really show how the combination of his mutant power, claws, fighting skills and sheer will make him one of the elite killing forces on Earth (and beyond).

We'll get an R rated Wolverine when the next generation starts i believe (Hugh has one more?).... should have always been that way...

I think Jackman's been great for the role, although he's been limited creatively in my opinion. Superb casting but it's time for him to step down and allow someone younger to take up the mantle. His shoes will be hard to fill though.

I do agree it should've been that way. In fact, I think any mutant related film should be darker and hard core. Marvel has always made its mutant titles "edgy" with content that challenge usual convention. For example, Marvel has used its mutant storylines to delve into socio-cultural dynamics relating to prejudice and oppression. The movies have done a fair job of conveying that dramatically within the cinema world (with X-Men:First Class being the best canvas of painting this aspect in my opinion) but there is tons more to explore and experiment with.

R-ratings can provide that outlet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
