News: Demarcus Lawrence To Be Suspended For Failed Drug Test

Only hope now is cowboys want nothing to do w drug related issues. Bosa too was suspended.

Imagine we draft bosa. And he too gets suspended alongside, Gregory/Tank.

This season is already stressful...

yeah! thats exactly what i was thinking. bosa has drugs problems too. so do they go buckner or just start the season hurting at rush. i wish the draft was tonight.

well 8 and 8 here we come if we do that good this team with there injuries and player who make this type of mistakes is why I didn't and wont have any expectations for the foreseeable future. someone needs to change this type of behavior I think it falls on the head coach and others to either change it or change the people you have in place this is basically half a season for each of these guys.

At some point the NFL will wise up and make a straight policy of, "if you fail a drug test of any kind, your career in the NFL is done forever". Set the tone and players will change their attitude. Most probably don't take it serious and know, that they will get chance after chance after chance. These are grown men, not kids, they know right from wrong. Time to take off the kid gloves.

NFL players are easily replaceable. The game will continue if the Gregory's, DLaw's, Gordon's etc are not playing.

At this pt i sign hardy or Jones. And draft Ramsey. Zeke is not a viable option anymore.

It's really frustrating. We moved to the 4-3 and simplified coverages and put the focus on developing players. Then we get four guys suspended for substances on top of the injury problems that didn't really go away. It's, what, year 4 under the new program, and we still don't have enough talent on that side of the ball and we're going backwards on the DL with two of our best young DLs suspending and looking at more time off if they can't get it together. So frustrating.

And we've got people who want to draft a RB at #4. Gah.

It makes me miss the 3-4...especially when you see Wade coaching the Broncos defense.

More than questioning the desire of fans to draft a highly rated RB prospect I question why our front office knew of Gregory's suspension, and knew Lawrence was 1 test away from a suspension and yet they let free agent DE's come and go without a contract..
This is troubling from Stephen Jones and company. With these known problems you have to sign Mario Williams, or one of the other DE's available in free agency.

The FO dropped the ball on this one.

Probably better to go with Buckner. At least he has never been popped for drugs.

Every time I see or hear Bosa, I think of Lattimer from The Program. The tied back hair, physical structure, etc.

So that is my extremely scientific way of saying he is a drug suspension candidate going forward and a bust.

So are we going to break the record for fewest sacks the season after breaking the record for fewest TO's?

Well so much for not handcuffing yourself into NEEDING to draft a position.

Absolutely hilarious.

Ryan Russell - Benson Mayowa are your Week 1 DEs as of right now.

No reason to pick Bosa just because we've got guys suspended. Besides, Bosa isn't a guy I would bet on to not end up on this list some day. Same with Spence.

I think we'd pick Buckner before Bosa.

I think the amphetamines are considered performance enhancers, aren't they? And those come with an automatic suspension. Like what happened to Scandrick.

It's probably Lawrence's first offense, and he was probably taking something like Adderall and got popped for it.

It's the best of both worlds. Unlike the 90s Cowboys that had trouble makers but at least won Super Bowls. You get these Cowboys that can't win anything but are still trouble makers. Sing it with me... Everything is awesome!

It's not his 1st failed test. The testing just started today. If he failed a test during the off season it's because he was already in the program.

My reaction to this...

This blows but there is no need to draft for desperation. The team can get a very good DE like Dodd or Ogbah in the 2nd round and a guy like Jason Jones can still be signed. Also Spence will likely be on the board if they move down to 15 with TN.

They can fill the four games DLaw and Gregory are out with guys like Mayowa and David Irving, that isn't good but it doesn't justify forcing a bad pick in the top five either.

Dodd and even Ogbah are better suited to LDE. Cowboys need a stud at RDE.
