Good luck with that. I don't see him getting it from the Cowboys.
Get outta here, Dez.

What you are saying is that you are 2 and one half times more important than DeMarco Murray.

I think not.

If you had held on to that ball in GB and lead the team to a SB..

Maybe but not even then.

Megaton will always be the better WR.

So stop trying to lead off the field with salary demands that are an insult to us fans.

Let's get Terrence Williams, Street, Farmer and Escobar your catches.

Beasley will be happy to make All Pro while YOU sit, bro.

Jerrah and Romo and Witten must be freaking.

I'm done with Dez.

We have put up to the posturing, tantrums and sideline displays to a distraction, Dez.

What a petulant child.

I think the loyal Cowboys fans need to pound his ear and his twitter account to the negative.

He needs to know we as his loyal fans Do Not Go Along bring hostage to his demands.

As Bugs Bunny used to say..

"what a Moroon"

He is a petulant child for trying to secure his future? "Value" is subjective, let's not forget.

As a fan for 45 years of the team..

securing your future is not what is happening IMO here.

This is not NBA basketball where LeBron James as one of 5 starters makes $20 mil/ yr plus.

Dez is one of 53.

And we have to be competitive if the team is going to improve.

Dez is not the figurehead of the Franchise.

Romo, Witten and our OL is.

Not Dez.

Sorry. I feel strongly about the team and not so much for Dez.

He has to face reality though, the market has dictated he is worth $14-15M a year, and that the Cowboys would be stupid to pay more than that. He might feel he is worth more than that, but he has no power in the conversation until the Cowboys decide not to tag him, right now his choices are sign a more reasonable contract, sign the tender, or make nothing this year and watch as the Cowboys tag him again next year (which I think would be less than if he played this year).

If ESPN somehow got wind of his expectations, I've gotta wonder how they did so and if it's really factual or not. Seventeen mil is a pretty lofty sum for any team to absorb. Oftentimes, there's a sizeable difference between a player's negotiating price and what they actually expect to end up with once the compromises are struck. If he's unwilling to budge from that figure, it would seem highly probable he's asking for trouble. Maybe ESPN got this from a source that isn't necessarily altogether reliable or unbiased. The truth will come out eventually but at this juncture, it's rarely information that can be unquestionably trusted. As is usually the case, time will tell.

BUFF just used 2 firsts to get Sammy Watkins. They traded a 2015 first to move up with CLE last year.

Granted they don't have to pay Watkins 15m+, but they did spend 2 firsts.

Since the draft is over, it would be a 2016 and 2017. For a team like NE it might be worth it. A couple late firsts for a top WR to match with Gronk, Edelman and Brady.

It would definitely be worth it to NE to trade a 2016 1st and 2017 1st ;)

Not 2 sure the Cowboys would be happy with only getting 1 pick though.

The only way he would get it is if his base salaries in the last 2-3 years were so high there's not chance he'd ever see them.

It would be a DeAngelo Hall to Oakland or Nate Clements to the 49ers type contract. Shocks the hell out of everyone and they don't even see half the money.

So, he'd be a complete moron to ask for it.

TSmith will probably see his whole deal. DAL may even give him a bump or two.

If he stays healthy and does what he is getting paid to do, Dez could have another 8 years with DAL.

Yep..

And best for the team and our loyal fans.

I'm tired of players sticking it to us.

I'm tired of the Ratliff's..the Ware's ..the TOs and the Dez's.

I liked DeMarco Murray and now definitely think we made a tremendous mistake letting him go and playing this game with Dez.

I look to Jerrah to fix this after this season once and for all.

We'll see.

I checked Calvin's contract and honestly think it is doable if they push some of the 4th year into the last two years of the contract and then switch half of the salary on the fifth year into a roster bonus. That would pretty much guarantee that the contract would be four years, because they would not want Dez on the roster for over twenty million, but they could probably keep him on their roster for about thirteen million a season, designate him a June 1st cut, then have him on the books for around seven million a year the following two years.

Not a great option, but it is doable.

Calvin's deal....

You are worth what your employer is willing to pay...

As of now, they're willing to pay a min of $13m.

it is a hard pill to swallow to remove the league's most productive RB and one of the top WR's in the league at the same time...was feeling very giddy about this team...minus Dez? not so much

After the video leak, nobody will pay that amount.. It all makes sense why Dez was saying he was betrayed...

That is why I am not buying this, nor the "Emmitt Smith" scenario being painted. Not even worth my time getting concerned about.

There is an awful lot of hubris in your statement to think one knows what is in the best interest of someone else. That is one of the roots of socialism/communism.

but before it was 14-15 mil a year, someone had to set that. historically those setting it are always the pivotal players of the time. no one will look at calvins contract THEN compare their #'s overall, just want more. the entire point is to get as much as you can for a vast majority of the players and hey, the owners are the same way. dez will get paid and i doubt seriously he's going anywhere.

i don't give a holy fly part in a hurricane how much he's asking for now. did you expect him to just go "hey, whatevers on the table i'll sign"? if you did...

..bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha..

sorry. i couldn't hold it. you people who live entirely in the moment get so lost in the story. crack me up you do. (in my yoda voice)

toss out a # and go. that's all that happened. next move, coming up pretty soon i suppose.
