Jerry might not get chance the Commish will Punish him first.
This is Dez first incident that's even remotely worthy of being looked at. I doubt he'll be suspended by Goodell. And depending on the final outcome, the team may not do anything.

I don't recall Anthony Spencer being suspended after his arrest or whatever happened in that bar incident in Indiana a couple years ago.

Edit: And for clarification, I'm only pointing out that while posters are tired of yet another incident involving Dez, it doesn't mean anything significant will happen to him after all details have been revealed.

I believe at the end of mini-camp the Head Coach told the team to make "good decisions" over the next few weeks. Family squabble, bruised arm for Mom, misdemeanor arrest, whatever the case I'm fairly certain the Head Coach doesn't think young Dez made very good decisions here.

An angry step brother having to live off the spoils of someone else? I can easily see that phone call.
And risk getting cut off financially? By the time he dialed '9' he would have reconsidered. That's why I think whatever happened must have been serious enough to ignore those other factors. An accidental shove doesn't fall under that category.

Dez isn't smart enough to realize the responsibilities he holds as a PROFESSIONAL athlete.

He's an uneducated, unintelligent, arrogant person who thinks he's entitled to certain things because he's a pro football player. Move on from him. He won't mature.

So now he knocked her down and that's how she got a bruise on her arm.

Interesting story.

Let me repeat the facts for you since you apparently have not been keeping up on current events.......

Dez was having a conversation/altercation with his half brother.....fact

Dez made physical contact with his mother.......fact

His mother has bruises on her arm...........fact

The police did not arrest Dez, a judge issued an arrest warrant......fact

Judge was shown something (pictures, ect....) before issuing warrant....fact

Now it does not take Stephen Hawkin or Sherlock Holmes to deduce that Dez pushed/hit/slapped/kicked or made physical contact in some way that resulted in bruises on his mother's arms and that the evidence was sufficient to cause judge to issue a warrant. Since Dez was having a conversation/altercation/argument with his half brother, the most logical conclusion is the mother tried to intervine.

This story seems alot more plausible than some in this thread, I really loved the one about Dez's mother had a knife and he was trying to restrain her by grabbing her arms and that is why the bruises were there......lol, yea nothing far fetched about that.

It's a good thing we didn't sign our most productive receiver last year and trade Dez for a draft pick.

Saggy pants, jewelrygate, Miami nightclubs, sleeping in meetings, playbook mysteries, conditioning issues, second-half disappearances, college suspensions.....this guy is such a ray of sunshine. Nice draft pick, Jerry.

Garrett has 52 RKGs and Dez Bryant.

And we all thought the Broncos were morons for picking Thomas over Bryant. Looks like the joke is on us.

Not really, Thomas still doesn't sound like much of a prize on the field or off.

Lack of production on the field, and guilty by association with an alleged date rapist. So, it's all a matter of perspective.

“So to get to play with a future Hall of Famer, I knew I had to step my game up and get in my book more, run routes more, because I never really ran routes much. So I thought it was gonna be a challenge, and it has been so far,” Thomas said. “But it’s been good, too. You’re gonna have to run the whole route tree now. The comebacks, the slants, the posts, the ins. And I didn’t have to do that much when I was my first couple of years in the league.”

Sorry, but when it comes to family trauma, it's not that logical. I can't speak for Dez's situation, but from my experience, that phone call is made. I've seen good people goaded into bad situations because a "trusted" family member became jealous and thought to bring someone down a few pegs.

A phone call is trivial.

Do you guys think his Mom had to press charges, or is this one of those situations where the police can arrest because they saw an injury or whatever?

Yeah, we're so talented that we can get rid of one of the best natural talents this league has to offer. Yeah, let's trade him to NY where he will turn around and "Randy Moss" us for the next 8 years.
And he's uneducated?

Just wait until he has Peyton as his QB, as opposed to Tebow.

:lmao: You think Dez Bryant actually did work in college?

Too bad you didn't grow up in Northern New Jersey during the '60s and '70s. It's called the weekend.

No, this was Ft. Worth on the 70s.

Erik Walden got arrested last year or the year before for beating up his girlfriend. He wasnt suspended at all. If he wasnt i dont think Dez will be either.

Under Texas law, it is not up to the victum to press charges or to drop charges, it is soley up to the district attorney as to if he feels a crime was committed.

In other words, once the police were called and they saw visual evidence (bruises on the arms) of a possible assult, it was no longer up to the mother if charges were going to be filed.

We'll see. I'm not knocking the young man just noting he hasn't produced even what Dez has so far in the league.

So personally I wouldn't be looking longingly in his direction when talking about who should've been picked instead of Dez.

When you have hundreds of people in a league, or thousands on a forum, or a populous of people, you will have saints, and people that are not so much. Who cares?

People spend too much mental effort focusing on things that are irrelevant to winning football games, this is a sports forum right?

Unless the guy is suspended or kicked out of the league, WHO CARES? You people are the first to complain when we can't score, but then when you get rid of top-talent, don't *****.

When Jerry Jones tried to play God and not draft Randy Moss, that was the dagger in the Cowboys heart that led to 16 miserable years of failure, all because he thought Randy was a bad character guy. All Randy Moss did was take the Cowboys and pimped them out.

This is my last post on the subject. Dez is a hot head guy who will have to grow up on his own and if you're not prepared for that, then you may as well go live on a farm somewhere 300 miles away from the nearest human because that's not how life works.
